  1. Our owners are billionaires and we have no FFP concerns. Why aren't we spending any money and just signing loans and cast offs?
  2. Hey, it's "financially fair" though, right?
  3. I know Sheff Utd have a lot more cash than us but what a difference in approach. "We want 5, I expect 5 in" JE "I dunno what's happening but I'm sure the recruitment team are working on it"
  4. Pete o'rourke (take his word as you wish) reckons BBD will sign on loan for Sheff Utd on loan in the next day or so.
  5. He's an ambitious manager. The owners won't put any money into the team, despite bringing in significant amounts in transfer fees. JE can only take us so far and once we hit that wall, knowing he won't get any more money to build the squad, he'll be looking for the exit. He'll make to the end of the season but once it's obvious there won't be any reasonable investment into the first team squad, he'll be off. Not sure how long his contract is but the owners won't sack him, so he'll have to engineer his own exit.
  6. I agree it's a risk and it probably wont happen but we already know that playing Forshaw won't work. Ferdinand failed but John Stones has succeeded, as did Phil Jones for us. Some players can do it, some can't.
  7. Laid out bare, for all to see there. What an utter disgrace this ownership is. I reckon, that whole squad cost like what £6.5m? Pears - £500k Toth - £750k Brittain - £1m Hyam - £1.5m Pickering - £750k Cantwell - £500k Ohashi - £250k (rumored to be less) Hedges - £250k Gueye - £1m All the rest are either academy graduates, loans or free transfers. The lack of investment in this squad is absolutely shocking. Once again, we reiterate that we've raked in £40m in transfer fees in 18months. #VenkysOut
  8. Injuries and lack of squad depth are crippling us, plus Coventry have the Indian sign over us. -------------------Pears Brittain---Batth----Hyam----Beck -------Sanderson----Buckley Dolan--------Cantwell-------Hedges -------------------Gueye You could replace any of Hedges, Dolan or Gueye with ACD or Weimann, it makes very little difference in the grand scheme of things. Stick Sanderson in a holding midfield role and give Buckely the licence to push forward.
  9. I doubt it, he didn't even make the bench yesterday.
  10. I wouldn't bet against him starting tbh. Not sure who else there is.
  11. 😂😂 Alan Nixon is literally bricking it with your transfer prowess! Get your patreon going!
  12. Adam Forshaw, come on down! "He's only a squad player" "He'll get like 5mins off the bench" "He's an experienced head to guide the younger lads in training" "He's not coming as a starting player" Laughable planning by the clubs hierarchy. Worth noting, he was brought on in centre midfield, ahead of JRC yesterday. JE clearly doesn't rate JRC in CM.
  13. He's been recalled, confirmed by the Sheff Wed owner at a fans forum. They have a 7 day grace on his recall so was available for 2 more games.
  14. What was this guys name?
  15. O'brien would be a grat siging but absolutely he will not be coming here. If he's a genuine target, we must be missing out on an attacking player because Forshaw and Sanderson were highlighted as cheap deals. A deal for O'brien, even on loan, won't be cheap.
  16. The flip side is that John Stones was regularly playing CM successfully for City last season. I haven't seen enough of Sanderson to know if he could do it but none of JRC, Buckley or Forshaw will provide the same level of defensive cover as Tronstad.
  17. I was thinking earlier if Sanderson could play in CM temporarily. Eustace has built this team around being a string defensive unit and Tronstad is key to that, screening the back 4. Sanderson, by his own admission, is a ball playing centre half, who loves to play a long "diag". Him playing as a CDM would allow Buckley to push forward more and allow us not to play Forshaw.
  18. We all knew that without adequate, quick recruitment in January, injuries/suspensions would start to bite and result would slip. Today, having to bring on Forshaw for a large portion of the game is exactly why we'll fall away from this playoffs position. A Plymouth reject and he's now basically a starter for us. Horrific.
  19. Poor stuff this. Woeful in attack.
  20. Yeah good line up. He had to start both Gueye and ACD after their impacts off the bench.
  21. Bloody hell Jim, thought we had a chance until I read this.
  22. They can fuck off if they are waiting for another player sale for funds. They've made quite enough over the last 18months.
