  1. It's unlikely there will be a promotion - wake up man !
  2. Mowbray's a workaday lower league boss, not Mourninho. But it would be a blow if he went; we need stability right now.
  3. They've made some stupid decisions these past 7 years and rejecting Warnock is right up there with the worst of them
  4. We drew too many unfortunately. I don't think Mowbray's a wonderful manager but he seems a solid, likeable type with integrity and I hope he stays
  5. The internet needs stringent regulation. The free-for-all cannot continue, and has led to major security risks around the world. Google and ISPs need reining in, and held to account over the content they allow to be displayed. Employing journalists would be a start, and help to compensate for the thousands of jobs they have destroyed in the newspaper industry. Brussels, as always, will play a big role in increasing regulation, one reason why the EU is force for good.
  6. Some way or other I would imagine this service will become available for domestic users. Unwelcome development in my view. Football is nothing without spectators and this will be just another excuse for fans not attending matches.
  7. I watched Ian Callan play for Ramsbottom circa 1982. Michael Holding, batting No 5, carted him all over the place. Now Holding was quick!
  8. Not trying to prove anything. Just a discourse with a fellow poster. I was on the pitch in the 1970s when the club was being badly run. I'm too old now. What have you done ?
  9. Wasn't though was it ? This place was crammed with people believing the Raos' rhetoric and thinking we were going to sign the world's best players and competing in the Champions League. A few of us knew it didn't look or feel right but were shouted down.
  10. Good move by Brum. "Arry" Houdini famously engineered an amazing escape for Pompey in 2006 and I expect him to get them safe again. Birmingham's players obviously didn't take to Zola - the mere fact he's gone will give them a lift. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if they beat Villa. Whatever happens, we're down.
  11. By giving your children gifts at Christmas you are participating in a religious festival.
  12. Then your kids will grow up as ignorant as you.
  13. I'm not. Looking forward to you leaving this board if we go down.
  14. Yep, me too. Imagine Tugay and Duggie in the same team, two wonderful players but Duggie had the edge.
  15. Ronnie was a right half , No 4 surely ?
  16. Ireland were quick to close England down and dominated the set pieces all match. England played exactly the same game in the 2nd half so why didn't Jones change England's tactics and shape at half time? .
  17. Looks like a QEGS tie to me.
  18. According to you that's open to debate.......
  19. Is he allowed to make decisions? I'm told the only reason Coyle got the boot this week was because the Slumdog billionaires were in the UK and gave the consent for his sacking. Nothing happens apparently when they're at home in India and out of contact most of the time.
  20. Not my choice and he's lucky to get the chance to manage our great club considering his track record but if he gets us out of the mess created by Coyle he'll deserve alot of credit. Good luck Tony Mowbray.
  21. Alex Ferguson mode - "It's pathetic when teams always raise their game against us". Wales haven't played like that in years. Well done England though, they made one mistake near the end and we punished them.
  22. Classic relegation team to lose a game in the dying minutes. Seen it so many times in Rovers teams in the past. I'd be amazed if we survive this season; there's certainly some other very poor teams at the bottom but we're no better.
  23. Another day, another defeat. But there's light at the end of the tunnel because Mercerman promised Coyle would be sacked.
