  1. I said I don’t know very much - which isn’t nowt - and I said with our weak team we could be near the bottom, not at the bottom. Please stop making things up.
  2. Which has nowt to do with "overestimating the players playing elsewhere".
  3. Maybe if you didn't conflate 2 issues you would understand
  4. You said: "overestimating the players playing elsewhere" I don't know very much about other teams' players, so I couldn't possibly comment And good players don't necessarily make a good team ergo, your comment is not relevant
  5. Who said anything about "overestimating the players playing elsewhere"? That was made up. It's true there's some very ordinary teams in the Championship but it's still a weak Rovers side even compared to those of the recent past. It's a tribute I think to Tomasson that he's keeping our heads above water with the very limited squad at his disposal. Anyway, losing Hyam for some time is a setback we could have done without and I agree S Wharton should be given another chance in his place. He needs to settle down, cut out the silly errors that blighted him last season and get back to something like the form of 18 months or so ago My scoreline prediction for the Millwall game was unusually for me spot-on so maybe I'm back on form too, and I'll go for the same result this time Rovers 2 Swansea 1
  6. That's such a weak team it's hard to understand why we're not struggling near the bottom. Losing Hyam is a blow without a doubt when we're so short on quality and numbers. Scott Wharton had a good second half at Millwall but has been a liability for a long time. I wouldn't move Hill - he's been excellent at fullback since he arrived
  7. Buttler can say what he likes but he should be relieved of his duties, as the saying goes. He's turned wine into water, made England a laughing stock. Few expected England to retain the trophy in India but this capitulation is embarrassing. Mott (whoever he is) can walk the plank too
  8. England continuing to put up a magnificent defence of their World Cup trophy I see. Send 'em home
  9. He played like a big girl's blouse at Millwall. He did nothing right
  10. He had to deal with a few shots and crosses and always punched well to be fair but a better goalkeeper would have caught many of them. Perhaps it's the way they're coached these days, or maybe modern footballs are harder to catch and the ball flies faster than in the past, but always punching the ball is high risk. Only he knows what he was doing for the Millwall goal
  11. My first proper viewing of this player last night and I couldn't believe how poor he was.
  12. The lad looks nervous (understandably probably as he's new) and punches the ball far too much as a result, but he also lacks physical presence and will struggle against some of the big forwards in the Championship. I understand he's a work in progress and needs time to develop but he's going to cost us points in the same way Pears does/did.
  13. A few thoughts from Cold Blow Lane. It was a poor game overall, low quality apart from Brittain’s brilliant goal. Not sure we deserved it to be honest, Millwall should have scored when they pressed us back in the second half Rovers are a strange team, a reasonably solid defence and one or two decent midfielders but desperately weak in attack. Relying on midfield players and defenders to score goals over the course of a long hard season isn’t sustainable Of the players I thought Hill and Carter were excellent throughout and Dolan (surprisingly), Tronstad, and Szmodics had good games. Sigursson (sp?) was bloody awful - does he always play left wing? - and in my playing days I’d hate to have that goalkeeper behind me. Does he have to punch every ball? All in all the win was welcome but walking away from the ground the overriding feeling was one of frustration because we’re clearly not that good and don’t have the quality or numbers to make a promotion push. The better teams will slaughter us - Leicester already have
  14. Blimey I didn’t really expect to get it right
  15. Yep, on the way home. Unconvincing victory but I’ll take it
  16. Tickets on sale on the gate tonight, cash or card
  17. Does anyone know if we've sold out? The Rovers ticket website is playing up as usual
  18. Is anyone else venturing into deepest, dark sarf London? I’ve been a few times and it’s never a comfortable place to visit but we have a reasonable record down there and I’m hoping that continues despite my poor form in away matches i was talking to an Irish Newcastle fan the other day and he has a 100 per cent failure rate in away matches - he’s never seen them win once. I’m not quite that bad but a rare win would be welcome. Here’s hoping. Millwall 1 Rovers 2
  19. Overstating it somewhat for a simple 10 yard pass between 2 defenders. The timing of Rankin Costello’s run deserved more praise and made the pass possible.
  20. Travis on..... where's CambridgeRover?
  21. Abysmal, woeful, embarrassing. Bring ‘em home and sack Buttler
  22. I was lucky: rang up early on the day of the open sale and nabbed 4 tickets. Within hours they were gone. The Ewood sales lady said 1,500 season ticket holders had taken up their tickets before the open sale, so 1,500 open tickets were snapped up very quickly It looks like Rovers could easily have sold alot more and we could have had 5,000 plus to support the lads Maggott it appears got it wrong again by underestimating demand - whether it was deliberate only he knows
  23. Looks like we got our 4 tickets just in time. My first visit to the "new" Stamford Bridge - let's hope it is a memorable one
  24. Of course. There's no other measure, and by that measure England is a failing football nation Look at our record against France, Germany, Italy, Spain. It's pathetic. Even when we at last got to a final, after more than 55 long years, in our own national stadium, we managed to blow it And that was against an Italy side that 6 months later that failed to qualify for the World Cup The perception of England from abroad is irrelevant until we start winning trophies
