  1. Spain very skilful this is going to be tough
  2. A win, a draw and a loss The die is cast for the season all right. 11th place here we come and Steve and his sidekick in their jobs for another £300,000 a year
  3. It's almost as if it were deliberate. Rovers being in the top 6 most of last season must have frightened him and Waggott to death
  4. Leonard and Dolan starting up front says it all - one lad nowhere near ready and the other plainly not good enough. Until the striker problem is addressed this is going to be a difficult season.
  5. It's the little things that do you - the small errors that lesser players make. This a is a mid-table squad and the quality is just not there
  6. Apart from running around a lot what quality would that be?
  7. That team may or may not win today but it has to be said it's not good, it's lacking in quality and it's certainly not top 6 material As it stands, and with 2 weeks to go until the window closes, we're weaker than last season
  8. Yes, the match circa 1964-5 ? we were 2-0 down and came back to beat them 3-2. Another great game,. They were throwing bottles all over the place outside Ewood. I can't remember when changing ends stopped - probably by about 1970 or so. It was a sad day for football
  9. Different era. Swapped ends at half time and had a bit of banter with opposition fans going the other way, but that's as far as it went. Football was fun then
  10. Sorry, missed it. Were you there? I was sitting in the Nuttall St stand that day, near the Blackburn End. Never to be forgotten
  11. Thanks, memories from 60 years ago! Next time I remember seeing Mackay at Ewood was about six years later with Derby County. Early days of the Clough era. Score was 1-1, again from memory
  12. Correct. Rovers raced into a 3-0 lead, and Jimmy Greaves IIRC pulled 2 back before the break
  13. The Spurs match was without doubt the best match and the best Rovers performance I've seen in a lifetime of watching Can still see those goals in my mind's eye. A brilliant day Andy McEvoy died in 1994.
  14. There's always one more The Aussie press is a good read. They're not happy. 😀
  15. I’ll have another go The Lionesses are the first senior England football team to reach a World Cup final since 1966 Hope this is ok with all the pedants
  16. This is a football thread FFS.
  17. They’re all shouting Go Spain outside the stadium apparently What a nation of tossers
  18. England are in their first World Cup final since 1966
  19. Excellent so good to beat them on their own midden
  20. Don’t care what they call it. The game is football
  21. Their defenders can’t deal with the long ball over the top
  22. Great goal but England should be winning
  23. Should be 2-0. Bright missed free header
