Tomasson has definitely not been aided by poor recruitment by Broughton. In midfield, we needed experience. Broughton opted for Morton who is not what we needed (ie young and not very good) and compounded it by failing to strengthen in January, the O'Brien fiasco being key. Up front, our main target only lasted until January because he was so shit and then he failed to bring in any one else. Hyam has been a very good signing, Szmodics has grown into an important player and we also got an injury prone squad player at full back and an additional joker in Mola. That being said, that doesn't excuse a quite frankly embarassing record from losing positions, 1 point (from a bad goalkeeping error) is simply not good enough and will always create a ceiling on what we can achieve.

We had this same problem last season where we have a player who has agreed to go elsewhere in the summer yet our owners haven't learnt their lesson and again refused to sell. That being said, we can't drop him because he is our likeliest goalscorer. He should play up front.

Terrible performance when we needed a big one. Tomasson has a real weakness in being able to get points from losing positions, when Norwich scored the ref may aswell have blown up. If we throw away a play off position whereby we were 4 points to go with us having 8 to play and our opponents having 7, then its hard not to directly compare to last season.

Kaminski is our best keeper even if it is understandable that Pears has the gloves at the moment. Pears is a solid back up but wouldnt generate much money. Keep them both, 100%. If Pears really wants out, then sign an experienced number 2 and reluctantly sell. No having kids as the number 2.

I have no idea how you have come to the conclusion that the overall Chelsea fans are happy to see Lampard back, where is this from? This knows the club nonsense baffles me. Potter is actually a decent manager, he would be better for this month. Failing that, they could get a manager with a better record even on a temporary basis. Even Big Sam would be a better choice. I can't figure out why you defend Lampard in spite of his managerial record. Either you must be biased having admired him as a player, or it is just because he is English. This "knowing the club" thing is a line often trotted out but its never particularly logical. Henning Berg knows our club. Colin Hendry knows our club. David Dunn knows our club. You wouldn't take any of them here if Tomasson left. You would naturally prioritise someone who is good at managing a football club and not someone who "knows the club." You say get the fans onside but why do you think that the Chelsea fans who have been used to success be content with a manager coming in even short term who was sacked within the last couple of years, has since been sacked by Everton for poor performance and has never improved a club simply because he was a great player for them?

You are sticking to defending Lampard even now? Knows the club? The same club he was sacked at due to poor performance? Is a fan favourite, why does that matter? Why not get Gianfranco Zola, John Terry or Dennis Wise if that is the case? Did you read the quotes from Michael Keane, that Lampard wouldn't even tell Keane how he could improve, instead saying that he should know what he is doing by now? Proper man management. Lampard is not a very good manager, that is the top and bottom of it and yet still his former playing career seemingly is working wonders with a naive owner desperate to appease the fans in a misguided way. Even keeping Potter until the summer would have been wiser than this.
