  1. Still maintain a properly managed Sam Gallagher playing as an actual striker with the full confidence of his manager for an extended run could easily get 10-15 goals in this league.
  2. For SW: 1) are you empowered in your role as chief executive to remove - or recommend the removal of - a manager if results dictate it is in the best interests of the club? 2) does your close working relationship with the current manager create a conflict of interest whereby you are unwilling or unable to recommend his removal even if results deem it necessary?
  3. Another one bites the dust. How depressing.
  4. Yes a proven winner, better than Mowbray in head to head competition. Plus he'd organise and put a bit of fight into them. Bit of a nasty git, which is the sort of thing you hate in the opposition but love when it's on your side. Plus he was on the panel for one of our recent TV games and spoke very knowledgeably about our team and its strengths. Feel it'd be a really good fit for where we are atm.
  5. We seriously need to get in amongst that. Perfectly suited for where we are right now as a club. He is the next Nigel Pearson or Mick McCarthy imo.
  6. They are all over social media pal. There is a sizeable strain of competitively optimistic Rovers fans who prioritise blindly backing the badge and those who wear it over pragmatism and the actual best interests of the club.
  7. Waggot's latest video doesn't give the impression he isn't intending on being here at the start of next season.
  8. Totally back this as a realistic option. A prover winner as a manager, literally better than Mowbray in head-to-head competition. A man who will organise and instil a bit of bite, nastiness and ultimately fight into a soft underbelly. Couldn't care less about his time at Burnley, need to think rationally and not emotionally on this one.
  9. Sack him tonight and get Paul Cook in. He would get a tune out of this lot no doubt.
  10. Aside from Berg who barely counts have we ever actually had a foreign manager? It's certainly about time we gave one a go.
  11. Good news. But loaning him back is crazy. We're not Man City, we have limited options and a bad injury history. If the lad is good enough to sign for us then he needs to be in the squad. What if he does his cruciate playing for Crewe in the next few months?
  12. Sacking Mowbray only to appoint someone like McCarthy...I'd be livid.
  13. I'd say this is way more akin to Bowyer's reign for those reasons then. Universally appreciated for steadying the ship but, like Mowbray, failed to get us into the top 6 with a capable squad. He had the owner's trust and I remember feeling like he was bulletproof but, in the end, got sacked seemingly out of nowhere.
  14. Bad but worse than Kean and the year or so after him? Or Coyle? I don't think anything is, or will be, worse than those times. Tony is a decent guy but a limited manager who has undoubtedly reached the end of the road.
  15. Kipre on loan is a no brainer if there's cash available. Surely he'd be up for it this time having not had a look in at West Brom.
  16. QPR paid £1m + for arguably the best CB in League One and they're now languishing just above the relegation zone. Not an exact science by any means.
  17. Exactly. Reading and Barnsley showing what a competent CEO can do with a few contacts on the continent and a bit of nous.
  18. Different opinions and all that but I watched them and couldn't believe how anyone wouldn't blame them! Why was Gallagher left to mark Pukki for the first and, whilst the second took a lucky deflection, the whole passage of play in the lead up to it was a shambles starting with Williams' weak attempt at a block on the half way line, Lenhian's weak attempt at a tackle on the edge of the box, Williams' poor clearance etc etc.
  19. I'd persevere with Douglas but he needs to start proving why he's so highly considered by Leeds and Wolves fans. I'm still not over that first goal v Reading to be honest. He's been awful so far, as bad going forward as in defence. Terrible set pieces, lightweight. Start showing us something please Barry.
  20. Well done for deleting that. His post was about as political as it gets. Presume that irony was lost on him.
  21. His distribution was very shaky last night too. Felt like a bit of an off night for him without ever really plumbing the depths of a Walton or a Pears, which is probably a good sign in itself. I'm convinced he's going to be lobbed by someone at some point though.
  22. Think we'll need to bring in some cover at right back. Would appear to be the most pressing issue.
  23. Council leader is "almost certain" the borough will be placed in tier three when national lockdown restrictions end on December 2. https://theshuttle.org.uk/leader-responds-to-governments-winter-covid-plan/ Personally don't think we'll see fans in Ewood for most of the season, certainly not until mass rollout of the vaccines.
