  1. Come on. Someone starrt this one off.
  2. I thought that Don Martin missed the penalty. The large numbers of Argyle fans was due to a Plymouth coach company putting on free or very cheap travel to celebrate a anniversary of something or other. The green spray paint in the town centre was witness to the Devon invasion for years to come. A super day for t'Rovers.
  3. Remember QPR and Everton way during the 94/5 season? Three points are three points. As I was saying about Reid: a top top player and critical to Rovers' progress.
  4. For me Reid is a crucial player at Ewood. He's very quick and never loses a tackle. He's passing is improving and he's got a decent first touch.
  5. Bellamy deserves all the plaudits: as good a performance as I've seen by a Rovers forward since Shearer. I think Steven Reid deserves a mention too. He put in a magnificent display yesterday, including prompting Hughes to reorganise the midfield after the third goal. As the Rovers players jogged back to thie own half to restart play Reid was shouting across to the bench and gesturing with four fingers. Rovers then switched from 4-3-2, to 4-4-1 and looked a lot more solid for the remainder of the game.
  6. Been on the Riverside on and off for 35 years and I ain't leaving for away supporters.
  7. To summarise then: our catchment population has the lowest disposable income in English football our Asian population is four times the national average ticket prices have risen 10% higher than disposable income in ten years we have the smallest population centre for any top flight club we've crap for some time: this season excepted
  8. Mr Drog, Your wish is my command Income Between 2000 and 2005 average household income in BandD rose by 38% to just under £26k Disposable income A more meaningful comparator is disposable household incomes or GFHI. GFHI GFHI 1995 2003 Blackburn with Darwen 7,123 9,237 increase of 22% North West 7,930 11,559 increase of 32% United Kingdom 8,602 12,637 increase of 32% We need someone with the ticket information for comparison. Most importantly: In 2003 Blackburn with Darwen was in the unenviable position of having the smallest GDHI per head in the UK, which at £9,237 was 27% less than the national average In the Indices of Deprivation 2004, Blackburn with Darwen was ranked at 34 out of 354 local authorities in England, where 1 was the most deprived area and 354 the least deprived. This rank was derived from the average deprivation score of the LSOAs in the local authority. The borough has a lower percentage of employed people (55.1%) than England and Wales as a whole, 60.6%. This appears one of the lowest, ranking 336th in England and Wales (out of 376).
  9. "Men against boys" to quote Gary Flitcroft. The parallels drwn with that night in Glasgow are spot on. It is a real shame that we dodn't win. There are also parallels with Cardiff - and of course we won that one.
  10. Some sloppy defending undermined a great team effort by the blues. Special praise for Bentley who is looking every bit the Dunn replacement without the injuries, Savage who played some neat football. And of course Bellamy who scored an absolute peach and created the other. Tremendous stuff.
  11. Theno, I thought it was genuinely really funny.....now where's that Lancashire United shirt of mine.
  12. Why were Arsenal allowed to play in white shorts? Tugay, as usual, brilliant. Hughes' tactics spot on. Todd however is a little perplexing. He seems to raise his game against the top teams: his concentration improves compared to playing the likes of West Brom and company.
  13. I thought this one had run its course, but Pleasure, noone is having a pop at Toogs because of his religion. Please reread the thread.
  14. Wrong again Blue Phil, it's you who gets them mixed up and that was the whole point of my email.
  15. A bit paranoid there Theno. I don't think I've ever complained to admin, and certainly not about you. Fife, as for my comments about Tugay, I was poking fun at Blue Phil. You might want to read his views on race issues on others threads to understand why.
  16. That's right Blue Phil. We'll be cheering a Muslim to the rafters.
  17. Tugay has been so good for us it makes me want to cry thinking that he'll be on his way out some time soon. And to think he was let go by Rangers to make way for wee Barry.
  18. I have to add my vote to Tugay's performance. Then only man on then pitch with any vision.
  19. I'm afraid remarks like that beggar believe. And there was Theodrog musing recently on how we can get more Asian fans to Ewood. Acting like it's the C21st rather than the C19th might be a start.
