  1. And one decision Venkys got right was ditching Appleton.
  2. A point's enough. Huddersfield play Barnsley next week.
  3. The owners have a chance if they clear out the three amigos and put in place a sound management structure and involve the trust in a plan to take the club forward. Otherwise.....
  4. I saw him play against Oldham in his first game for the club and declared him then as the best passer of the ball that Rovers fans has seen in blue and white halves.
  5. For someone suffering from depression this is no advice at all.
  6. Roverandout, I've suffered from depression for over a decade and it's something you need to treat seriously. Happy to be PMed, but do please see you GP soon.
  7. Check out the author's name: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article7065824.ece
  8. Good pubs near Chinatown Den. For range of beers I'd suggest the City Arms, which is near the Town Hall. At the top of king Street, you have Reform, which is a cocktail bar/restaurant, but does half price drinks up 'til 7pm (I think) and is worth a visit for the fantastic decor. On Cross Street you've got the Chop House, and as Colin says, bang in the middle of Chinatown there is the Sevenoaks, which I'd avoid if there's a few of you. The Old Monkey is a boozers pub, and the Waterhouse is spacious and, of course, cheap. As for Cloud 23 I took my son in for his 21st last night. It's tacky and expensive - very Manc you might say! The view is southwards, rather than across the city centre. Worth a visit though. You'll probably have to queue to get in. My favourite in Manchester is the Mark Addy. Brilliant food at realworld prices.
  9. Shocking for all Rovers - and football - fans. There are no words of comfort in these situations.
  10. No doubt that McCarthy is a very gifted player, but.... - he's overweight - has a long, long record of indiscipline Firing on all cylinders McCarthy could have bagged between six and eight goals this season, and we'd be safely in the top half. No wonder Sam is unhappy with him.
  11. Probably the most stupid post I've had the misfortune to read. Astounding.
  12. Barton sounds like some far right thug.
  13. He's a smartly dressed man, and so has met my main criterion.
  14. The Marais is a great district to hang out. My wife and i always stay on the Rue de Oberkampf (sp?) in a small hotel. Great area, smashing bars, and cafes (and a bit cheaper than the central areas).
  15. Which is what r6 does.
  16. The point here FLB is that many of us have tried to argue with r6, and to be honest there is no point. He has made all kind of wild criticisms of Hughes personally and the club in general, which shift over time. He ignores the posts made by Den, Philip, myself and many others. There's no evidence he's ever been to Ewood, or seen any of the players he champions actually play. I'm just very, very bored of self-importance and ignorance. I can cope with one of those, but both at the same time are unbearable.
