If you don't want to get chucked out don't stand up. Not too difficult I'd havbe thought. Can't comment on not being let it, but in 35 years of going to football this has never happened to me. -

I like the Riverside and under no circumstances do I want to sit in the Darwen End. There's a good reason why all football matches are televised from the half-way line, because it's the best view of the game. BBenders take note. It's part of a genral malaise effecting the game, and the nature of the Rovers support, the local economy, demographics are all factors. And not winning for two months in the league might be a factor too. And it seems to me that the club is doing everything in its power to address the situation. -

A band of Rovers supporters take time and effort to provide Rovers' fans with a voice and get it in the neck for being do-gooders. As for influencing the club, the stay away supporters are doing a very good job at changing the club's pricing policy. And which supporters, who live locally and who post here don't go down to the ground? Thirties Russia? Give it a break. -

I've always thought one relegation would kill us, but look at North End and Burnley: no money and doing well. -

You starting to sound stupid now mate. On one hand you say that you've got a few idiots following you away (as part of the biggest, best, perhaps toughest away support in all the universe) and then come on all tough guy, "we stand up and don't take any crap from stewards." Wow. That's worth bragging about. You stand up at football matches - never mind kids and older folk who can't see because you want to stand up. And the stewards? Well you must get a real kick out of not taking crap from them. Pathetic, self serving and totally predicatable. -

When you have following of drunk idiots is when you get trouble. It's not unavoidable. Just drink less and grow up. -

Rover6 you're embarrassing yourself, why not give it a break? Whilst Hughes has made mistakes - show me a manager who hasn't, he gets most things right and as I said have you ever seen this lad play? On the omeny Rev, you never know if MGP is going to change the game. You don't think that when Peter is on the pitch. Not yet anyway.
-
Agree on Peter, Den.
-
You've never seen him play unlike Hughes and his staff who've seen him week in week out. When and if he's ready for the top flight he'll play. If he's not good enough he'll fund himself at somewhere like Blackpool where the last player you championed ended up.

One of the things I love about Ewood is the fact that the cornes aren't filled in. It gives the ground a connection with locality and a sense of place. Sat in a host of the newly developed grounds, you could be anywhere in the country or world for that matter. And if you don't like looking at the Riverside, do what I do and sit in it. As for ideas for its redevelopment, what about a terrace?

We need to start to pick up some points, as Phil says we are only four points ahead of the relegation zone. A defeat I'm afraid unless Hughes manges to reshape the team so that it stops conceeding soft goals. 4-5-1? -

We can't make any real conclusions from one game, let's wait until the "experiment" is over. (Altough other than making these games free i don't really know what else the club can do.) Like Colin here are a few observations. If you make it too cheap then there is a possibility that fans stop attaching any real value to going to games. Living in Manchester I have no real idea of how the club markets these games locally. Could more be done to lead on price reductions. Theon's point about a collapse in interest in the club/game amongst layers of part time supporters strike me as the most important issue. A lad I sit next to tells me how he knows lots of "fans" who watch on legal and illegal TV and call him a mug for shelling out for a season ticket when players are earning £40k a week. No doubt the lustre of the Shearer years has worn off, but there seems to be a more significant cultural shift, which effects Rovers more than other clubs because of the unique situation we find oursleves in. But Man City, Bolton, Boro and other are experiencing similar problems, so we're part of general development. It is difficult to know where the club goes with reduced ticketing for premiership games. And lastly...I've banged on about this for some time, but look at the demographic, economic and other data and the club is persuing a strategy in very, very unfavourable circumstances a fact not understood by the outside world. Up the Rovers! -
