  1. . Kaminski Van Hecke Ayala Wharton Nyambe Giles Travis Buckley Dolan Gallagher Brereton Pears, Zeefuik, Phillips, Rothwell, Khadra, Dack, Hedges Thats presuming Pickering is not yet fit.
  2. One for the stattos here: This seasons points per game WITH Nyambe: 2 This seasons points per game WITHOUT Nyambe: 0.88 Still waiting for someone to give me one logical reason for dropping him.
  3. Nyambe and Lenihan seem very pally on the pitch, over the last few months they’ve built up a phenomenal understanding. There is frequent communication and acknowledgement between the two. Lenihan was visibly furious with Zeefuik last night when something else didn’t come off a few minutes after Zeefuik got in the way of his attempted ball into the box. That’s not all on Zeefuik, he’s not completely drilled to the way we play like Nyambe is.
  4. Any of our out of contract players would be utterly stupid to sign a new deal at this point. It’s dragged on too long and we need to see where we are playing next season. All contract talks should be shelved for now so we can concentrate on the job in hand. Why aren’t Lenihan and Rothwell, the player who actually requested to talk to other clubs a few days ago, not subject to the same treatment from Mowbray… who himself is out of contract before Nyambe’s is up.
  5. Not surprised Mowbray dropped Nyambe, called it. Not surprised it cost us either. Lenihan completely lost his head long before he picked up that stupid second yellow. At one point he was screaming at Zeefuik in front of the Jack Walker stand and I wouldn’t have been surprised to see him leather him if he’d been stood closer. Travis was decent until he decided to basically give up on anything to do with the ball and focus all his efforts in trying to get their players sent off and commit sneaky fouls. That miss from Buckley is a fucking disgrace. Really pissed off with that tonight. For the second game in a row, Mowbray has hamstrung us by making unenforced changes. Hoping Dack can come back and rescue our season at this point.
  6. I’ve got a horrible feeling Nyambe will be dropped tonight for Zeefuik. Mowbray has tried to accommodate him for the last couple of games, and it’s not worked, but I’m pretty sure he’s not finished trying him out yet. I really hope I’m wrong as it will, in my opinion, significantly weaken us defensively.
  7. I think 10 of the 11 pick themselves: . Kaminski Lenihan Van Hecke Wharton Nyambe Giles Travis Rothwell Buckley ???????????? Brereton If Gallagher is fit, I’d go with him. Coming off the right he should be getting on the end of Giles’s deliveries. No need to disrupt a successful formula unless necessary. It would be harsh to drop Buckley off the back of an admittedly poor performance on Saturday. No need for Johnson and Davenport both to be on the bench, I’d have Vale or Dack (or both) amongst the subs instead.
  8. Kaminski - Fine Nyambe - Very good. People complaining that he doesn’t cross enough, see Giles Lenihan - Defensively fine, busy performance, lacked composure but as a centre back hardly surprising. Should’ve done better with the chances he had. Van Hecke - Decent without being troubled. Wharton - Decent. Though our left side was where we were vulnerable. Zeefuik - poor. Seems to have better attacking instincts than defensive ones. Rubbish for the goal. Not a left back, should be cover for Nyambe or to come on late in games Travis - Very good. Held the midfield together, covered a lot of ground, did the simple things well. Rothwell - few flashes. Not the statement of intent I was hoping for. Couple of trademark runs that didn’t come off. Get him off set pieces. Buckley - very poor game. Nullified himself with a daft booking for a dive. Should’ve scored. Hedges - couple of moments but largely anonymous. Shouldn’t have started. Giles - looked superb at wing back and possesses bags of quality. Must have been really frustrating for him putting in quality crosses, unfortunately the only time anyone thought about getting on the end of them was when we hit desperation stakes with big defenders up top. Brereton - needed to start. Bringing him on when they were down to 10 meant he saw basically nothing of the ball. Frustrating when our only instinctive goalscorer is deeper and wider than 6 or 7 other outfield players instead of being in a position to score Khadra - we know what his strengths are, but it doesn’t always come off for him. Difficult again for him coming on when they had shut up shop. JRC - coming to crunch time with him. Needs to kick on. Was mostly anonymous apart from a stupid shove on his former teammate. A bit of a nothing sub in the circumstances, and we’d be better off with Vale in the bench instead of Davenport. He’d have been a much better option today. Moving away from our tried and tested eleven will be our downfall. Hopefully there is a lesson learned today by Tony and this isn’t the return of the tombola.
  9. Zeefuik was 33/1 to score first last time out. Loads of people backed him when they saw where he was playing and his odds rapidly shortened.
  10. Expect something to be announced in the not too distant future
  11. Members of the Walker family should fund this. I’m sure it’s what Jack would’ve wanted. No chance with that lot though. Would be a good gesture for Venky’s to donate.
  12. Bournemouth blowing everyone out of the water with wages will be how they got Dembele. You can’t just absolve the club of any blame for apparent offers not being accepted. The first thing you have to do in any transfer scenario is make it financially attractive enough for the selling club to consider. Whether we didn’t offer enough, or went for players out of our financial reach, not having further achievable targets is a failing at our end. Why didn’t we sign at least one of the two players Mowbray mentioned as Rothwell replacements, if he had money burning a hole in his pocket?
  13. A few people reporting that we had money to spend, but we didn’t. If that’s the case, why did Mowbray say what he did about reinvesting money from Rothwell? Is he given a budget to spend as he sees fit? Was he given transfer funds but not a wage budget to go with it? Does the budget only stretch to players Venky’s personally approve? Why does it take forever for us to finalise deals? Something doesn’t add up. It’s too easy to blame it on Mowbray/Waggott’s incompetence, if they were that bad surely something would’ve been done about it by now. We are in far better shape on the pitch than off it.
  14. Only in the last couple of hours? There had been whispers about them for days, seems like setting ourselves up for failure if we only tried at the last minute.
  15. Don’t disagree with any of your post, but the bit in bold… I really doubt the existence of any long term planning, particularly with Mowbray being out of contract in the summer. Whose plan is it?
  16. I don’t think we are badly off for attacking options with Brereton, Khadra, Gallagher, Dolan, Hedges, JRC - not to mention Poveda and Markanday who we still have to pay, or Dack. Another would’ve been nice, but we’d struggle to bring in the target man everyone would like to sit on the bench and maybe get 10 minutes here and there.
  17. Warner Hahn has been released by Go Ahead Eagles. Never fulfilled his potential, but surely he’d be a better back up option than Pears? We can still sign free agents after tonight, right?
  18. Just seen your edit - glad to hear it! 👍👍
  19. Haven’t seen a price quoted anywhere, just meant in terms of possible interest.
  20. Well let’s hope they get over it quickly and leave Mowbray to get on with the job he is doing. Their famous pride has cost them a quarter of a billion quid and all of us a decade of misery and embarrassment. They can swallow it for once.
  21. Maybe the Brereton to Barcelona thing isn’t as far fetched as it seems? Mega clubs signing players for their image rights happens. They'd certainly be able to exploit his popularity in Chile, unlike us.
  22. I’ve said this at least twice before in the last 5 years, but the mens was the worst Royal Rumble in history. I enjoyed the Women’s, and thought that the use Mickie James was great - really refreshing how they acknowledged Impact and let her shine a bit. Lesnar and Lashley started like a house on fire, but it quickly deteriorated and the finish was rubbish. I’m so sick of dull, formulaic matches with a million false finishes, but that modern wrestling. Don’t get the Becky hype at all and think she ought to go and watch some Hulk Hogan matches to see how to have a match against a bigger opponent. Doudrop might be saddled with a shit name, but she’s improved dramatically from her PCW days. Only saving grace was the fact I put a bet on Shane to make the final 4 at 80/1 as soon as I saw he was rumoured to be in it. Didn’t make it worth staying up for though. WWE is in a terrible state, the few good things they do feel as though they have been seen a million times before. It’s worse than WCW in its death throes right now.
  23. I hope our players aren’t throwing in the towel as quickly as some of our fans have off the back of Bournemouth’s spending spree. Hopefully all their new signings have the same impact Wegerle, Sherwood and Duncan Shearer did for us in 1992 - fuck all!
  24. If you’d told me a month ago we’d come out of this window with our fist team intact and bring in Hedges and Zeefuik I’d have been delighted. A couple more would be great, but not the end of the world if we don’t. I’m more concerned about incoming bids from left field for the lads who have done so well getting us to where we are now.
  25. Always seems to be the case, our signings always seem to drag on. I expect it is to do with our convoluted processes and chain of command.
