Lows - I'm going to start off with these as I'd like to finish the post with the good times. I was gutted when Shearer left, when relegation happened in '99 and when Duffer left in '03. But there was always hope back then, that we'd recover. Everything from November 2010 to today has been a low point. The first two years when the rat was here were the worst I've ever known. It has largely been nothing but a comedy of errors, humiliation and embarrassment under these owners. Highs - there have been many, all before 2010 for me. The ultimate is the title win in 1995. I was quite young at the time but can still remember the celebrations in Blackburn town centre that evening. People running around overjoyed, chanting, flags being waved, car horns blaring, me stood up waving my Rovers scarf through the open sun roof of my dad's car. Brilliant scenes and surreal to look back on considering how awful the past 12 years have been. A few months later Colin Hendry turned up at my school. That was a 'wow' moment and a half. My teacher knew I was a Rovers fan as we'd often talk about the weekend's games, he was a Liverpool fan. He pointed me out to big Col as being a keen Rovers fan and I couldn't believe I had the chance to talk to him. Eventually, I asked him a question and he had a laugh with me when I told him Shearer was my favourite player. That was a personal high. Deepdale 2001 is in there. The League Cup win in 2002 is obviously another, especially due to the way Rovers were being dismissed beforehand. All Tottenham had to do was turn up, apparently. We'll see about that. A sweet, sweet day with Rovers doing the business and sending the dismissive skulking off. There are a couple of results against the big guns that I count as highs too. Arsenal away in October 2002 when Dwight Yorke chipped in the winner is one. I listened to it on the radio and have never been as on edge when listening to a game as I was that day. We were 2-1 up but got battered for the last 30 minutes. Every time Arsenal went forward I thought they would score, it was head in hands stuff to listen to. It was an onslaught but Brad was superb keeping everything out and the defence put in a heroic effort that afternoon. The feeling at full time, I'll never forget it. That was a serious Arsenal side too containing the likes of Pires, Bergkamp, Henry, Cole etc so it was a big thing. The second game is the MGP show at Old Trafford, September 2005. Probably the happiest I have ever been after a game aside from the trophy winning games. For two weeks leading up to it I had cocky United fans telling me how Rovers had no chance and Ronaldo would do this and Rooney would do that, blah blah blah. Standard arrogant comments everybody has likely heard from United fans. For us to go there and put them to the sword was special. To hear Sparky say before the game "we want to give them something to worry about" just added to it all. We went there to win and I love that attitude. A complete contrast to today and the approach of the current manager. I often bring out the t-shirt below to wind up those United fans. I'm absolutely delighted to see the situation as it is at United and all their fans crying. Apparently some of them are "falling out of love with United". I can't think why. Long may it continue 😂.

Premier League season 21/22

United were abysmal for large parts of that game. Bailed out again by Ronaldo. Imagine where they would be this season had they not signed him. Chelsea will be kicking themselves, even though they can't go any further up the table. They had so much time and space on the ball and plenty of opportunities to win easily tonight. Alonso's goal reminded me of MGP. Good finish. -
Putting my thoughts on Mowbray to one side for a moment, I have to say, the way the owners have behaved in this situation is not on. To arrive at this stage of the season and this point in his contract, and still not have anybody in a senior position indicate anything regarding his future shows a real lack of professionalism, class and more worryingly, a lack of interest from the owners. That is the reason why the scumbags sniff around, smell an opportunity and then step in with their "we'll find a manager for you", "leave it to us Balaji, we'll handle it for you". It all stems from a lack of interest from the owners. He could swat those tossers aside if he wanted to or cared enough to. Andy Bayes was right to push him on it being "strange" because that's exactly what it is. I think Mowbray tried to give a diplomatic response to that as he will know it's piss poor in reality, but can't openly say that. I'm happy for him to leave, he should have been replaced long ago, IMO. True, he has wound me up with some of his behaviour/comments over the years, but I do not like or agree with how the owners have acted in this situation.

Been waiting so long for this. It sounds like it is going to be worth it.

Always good to silence the North End fans. That's two games running Rovers where Rovers have turned up to Deepdale and made them look silly. You don't expect Paderborn to be a match for Bayern Munich, do you? 😂. Jokes aside, a superb display from Rovers. Intensity, closing down, quick passing, it was all there. Massively frustrating that we haven't seen this for two months. Infuriating actually. Just two more wins during this dire run would have had us in there and in a good position. The overwhelming feeling and question after that is: why now? There's slight hope, even though we need other results to go for us. At least the final two games aren't dead rubbers. The Bournemouth game should be a cracker as they need the points too.
 -
Lenihan has put in some good balls tonight. A few good passes into the channels too. His passing has picked up. He's looked decent at right back.
 -
The pressing and intensity is back tonight. Where has this been for the last few weeks? Makes it all the more frustrating.
 -
Come on! Let's bury this lot.

What a dull, dreary press conference from a manager devoid of any ambition and all enthusiasm. He may want to stay, to pick up a wage more than anything else, but I don't sense much eagerness from his responses. He could have easily said "I'd love to stay here, but it's out of my hands", for example. He talks about Wembley but in the same breath dismisses it as being unlikely now. He should be embarrassed to make such a remark considering where we were in January. Suhail and Balaji need to consider the following question (if someone is feeding this back to them). If a manager can show such a lack of care and interest when his team are in 2nd place, why would next season and beyond be any better? Budget or no budget. It makes no difference if the manager doesn't have the necessary intent to begin with. It would be an absolute waste of time him being here next season. Going off that interview, he's not fussed if he remains here or not. He's not fussed about much at all with his "if it happens, it happens" approach. That attitude is not good enough. He's wasting everybody's time and money. I don't like the way the owners are keeping Mowbray and everybody else in the dark and they need to put him and us out of our misery as soon as possible. Mowbray getting a new deal would be on par with Kean getting a new deal for me. No, they aren't the same as people, but both are hopeless bullshitters who provide us with nothing to look forward to. The last time I was this angry and against a manager possibly getting a new deal was with Kean. He will be doing nothing but picking up his wage next season while we go through the same cycle again and he drones on and on about 'development'. I'm not up for that crap at all. He gets a new deal and we can write next season off before a ball has been kicked.

Premier League season 21/22

It's amazing how many VAR decisions for the opposition at Anfield are brushed aside as if they didn't happen. Everton should have had a penalty. Not even looked at. Countless times it has happened this season. -
"If we lose tomorrow he (Waggott) might make a decision after the game". 😂
 -
Still remember Dunny deciding to support the scumbag by telling us all to "get real" back in the dark days. Poor form from somebody who should have known better. Loads of good memories of him as a player, but that moment was disappointing. He's no coach or manager anyway. There was a time when the owners had a fascination with bringing in a former player, maybe it was driven by Shebby, I don't know. We ended up with Berg as a result of it. If they were to ever go down that route again, Dunny is the last guy I would want in that role.
 -
Mowbray can breathe a sigh of relief. He was almost in danger of getting us promoted. Top man, Tony. He's saved the club and done a great job.
 -
It always amuses me how angry they get by us saying "we aren't bothered about you". They wish we were. Rovers going to Deepdale on Monday night is the German equivalent of Bayern Munich turning up at Paderborn 😁. I'm sure their ticket office has gone into overdrive! If our miserable manager hadn't have thrown in the towel 2 months ago, I'd be well up for seeing Rovers shut them up. As it is, I think they'll show more fight and desire than us. The vibe around Rovers is awful for a team that is supposed to be in the play off mix. I just can't see us winning this game. I suppose even Bayern lose to a small team once in a while too. It happens, Preston fans. I've realised I've just given Mowbray a get out line there. "Even Bayern Munich lose games of football". Coming soon to a post match press conference near you.

It would seem that if you didn't go to a particular Grammar School and aren't of a particular financial standing then you are a pleb and aren't worthy of knowing anything. I guess that makes a lot of us plebs then. No worries. Tea and biscuits with a bunch of shysters who take the piss out of us on a regular basis, while they stroke your ego and kill you with kindness, doesn't sound appealing for some reason. I exclude Yasir Sufi from that tag, as he's a good guy doing some good things. He's the man behind the Ewood Express, Windy Miller. The rest of them at Ewood? They can get stuffed!
 -
That's exactly it. We've completely veered away from what brought us success during that run and I don't get why that is. Our pressing game has gone, we're standing off the opposition. Stoke were playing it around with ease in the last game. Our defence looks incredibly shaky and we're conceding some comical goals. We looked solid and resolute for two months post Fulham. What has changed so drastically? It feels like whatever happened at half time in the Derby game has done lasting damage. Would it be surprising if Mowbray has decided to double down and become even more stubborn as a result of the players apparently telling him what's what? Maybe that's why the last 'real' performance we saw was that second half against Derby. As for the Preston game, I'm not looking forward to it. This is their cup final, they are always fired up for this and they will be battling from minute one. We won't be, I feel. It's live on Sky and I think it's going to be the final nail in any play off 'hopes'.
 -
Yes, I agree. They could and should have ended this long ago. My argument is against the idea that he would have performed better with a bigger budget. There are examples where he has chosen not to spend in the past, and his shoulder shrugging ways along with his press conferences suggest he's not arsed where we finish.
 -
We used to have one of that calibre. Sadly, he retired in May 2009. There are a lot of decent players out there, but the imagination, finances, care and interest are all missing at Ewood these days. Buy plodders and squad fillers and you get a mid table finish at best. I would add 2 x LB's to that too, but I guess that is being too greedy and unrealistic. For me, Pickering isn't up to it, nor is Edun at LB. The amount of space that the opposition has had in the last few games, to attack down our left hand side while Pickering is caught upfield is a worry. There is so much work to do in the summer and nobody has a clue who is going to oversee it. A real mess.

BRFC - The Nostalgia Thread

I remember seeing an older left winger play in Tony Parkes' Testimonial game back in 2005 and asking my dad "who's he?". "Scott Sellars" was the reply. The reason I asked was because he was quality and I thought he could still play for our first team back then. I was too young when he was a Rovers player, so I didn't get to see him back then. But he still had it in the Testimonial game, at the age of 39, it must have been. -
If I knew how to share tweets on here, I would. However, Honeyman has just tweeted this half an hour ago: "The sense of entitlement from some football fans is genuinely frightening!". I wonder which fans he's referring to here. I also wonder if a certain manager has been moaning to him about how the fans expect too much. "It's not 1995 anymore, Craig, you understand that". There's no doubt for me that these snakes are keeping an eye on the forum. Honeyman gets called out last night, this morning he tweets the above.

Premier League season 21/22

That's a good price, as absurd as that sounds. He was being touted as costing double that not so long back. The game has gone mad, especially in the Premier League. Would be an excellent signing for City though. -
Yeah, that's when you know they don't follow the Championship at all. Friends who support Premier League clubs take a superficial look at the Championship table and think he must be doing a good job. There's also this false perception of Mowbray's teams playing attractive football. It has to be based on his West Brom team from 14 years ago because I haven't seen one bit of that at Rovers. Throw in the "good guy" angle and they can't believe that we want him out. I've said it before, but how come we never hear what a "good guy" Hasenhuttl is at Southampton, or Potter at Brighton, or anybody else for that matter? It seems to only be wheeled out for Mowbray. An honest, proper football man and all of that crap. Look at how his teams collapse every year and tell me what's honest or honourable about that. It's a results based industry! What's honourable about his press conferences, where he never takes responsibility and will do anything he can to blame somebody else? Other fans don't know the half of it and to be honest, aren't really interested. We are a forgotten club being in this division. We hate that as fans, but the bastards at the club are happy for it to remain like this.

All the reporter that got that answer had to reply with was: "But surely, Tony, you can understand the fans' frustrations who are seeing chances of a play off place slip away after being in such a comfortable position in January?" It's not rocket science! These bloody reporters need to stick it on him. I'm sick of this spineless crap. -

Gutted to see the club just going through the motions and everybody's time being wasted. Even worse is that nobody will do anything about it. We are left hoping that the arrogant one walks of his own accord. A rotten setup from top to bottom. There are ups and downs in football, but the capitulation since February and the lack of effort in recent games is a disgrace and an insult to all Rovers fans around the world. There is absolutely no scope to put a positive slant on any of this or to try and be a super fan on social media by refusing to call things out. Social media image means stuff all, it never has, and especially not when our club is being treated like a joke. -

Posters thought I was being over the top mentioning him in the same sentence as Kean and Coyle. Both are awful managers, Kean a scumbag, but even they didn't say some of the things this guy has. Being nice means nothing in terms of results, but I stand by my point that Coyle was a nicer bloke than Mowbray.
