Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
Mike Graham replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Glen, the Coalition and WATR are silent and have been for weeks. Something must be brewing 🧐 -
v Ipswich Town (h) - 20/9/25

The decision is as expected. Rovers were aware of the issues and had the opportunity to invest in pumps and the waste rainwater tank as advised by their CEO. Rovers refused to invest. There were over 10 minutes left plus injury time. The game was not done and dusted. Anything could have happened and probably would given our record on conceding late goals. There is not a hope that an appeal will succeed especially given there is virtually only the tea lady left who is capable of writing a coherent appeal. -
150th Anniversary kit/celebrations
Mike Graham replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I just had a call to tell me the Rovers 150 Organising Committee (the one with external representation) was stood down a few weeks ago following the departure of SW. I was also told someone has seen a draft of the 150 book and it has many inaccuracies and typos….I hope these are corrected albeit this is the first Rovers history book for many years I will not be buying. -
150th Anniversary kit/celebrations
Mike Graham replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
6 weeks to go until the 150th anniversary of the formation of Rovers and all we have is a book and some tatty merchandise. We were promised a year of celebration of what is probably the most momentous moment in the history of the town of Blackburn, but wait we might get a game against Old Etonians (will Boris be playing?). Just to get us all in the mood and raise the level of excitement from 0 to 1 here is my price of history from our 100th year in 1975. I might even put this up for sale soon😉 It was framed by a Rovers fan in Leyland. Yes we do have fans outside of the BwD borders. -

The pitch was in good condition and playable at Chorley. -

No. That only happens if it is called off before the game starts. We will have to pay again unless the club are overcome with generosity 🤣🤣🤣 -

Steve Waggott planned to get a new water pumping drainage system in place along with a large rainwater storage tank. He planned this after the last debacle v Millwall when the game was called off close to kick off. It was turned down for cost reasons by our illustrious Chief Operating Officer who instead wanted the Council to reroute the river. -
The WATR AGM was on the 25th June. 3 or 4 days later a welcome communication came out saying the officers had changed. Nothing has been heard of WATR since. Is WATR and the Coalition still active and operating please?

Rovers Supporters Flags
Mike Graham replied to Mike Graham's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I would love it if we could have a ‘flag group’ like Liverpool and Palace have. They raise money and design appropriate flags at short notice. https://hf05.org/group/ -
God bless you and your family. This is more important than football. Take care.

150th Anniversary kit/celebrations
Mike Graham replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It is listed as a category A game for tickets and a Platinum game for hospitality. Jacks Kitchen is not available for a ‘pie and a pint’ as they are looking at the potential of using the lounge for hospitality sales. Maybe the club will pull back and realise the only way fans will turn up is to have a decent ticket offer. -
150th Anniversary kit/celebrations
Mike Graham replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It is now less than 2 months to the 150th birthday of probably the most momentous moment in the history of the town of Blackburn. We were originally promised a year of celebration of our World famous club. Sadly we haven’t a clue what will be happening to celebrate OUR Club. All we have had so far is: - the promise of a anniversary book (the Club announced this about 4 weeks back but have been quiet on the subject ever since; I wonder why🧐). - an anniversary logo that could have been better designed by a 5 year old in an infant schools art class. - a celebration game against Derby Rovers at prices to put off most casual fans. - some nice flat caps handed out pre match to stars of the past. Is anyone aware of any other formal Rovers 150 Anniversary activities? -
Chorley FC are excellent at providing facilities for large followings visiting Rovers. They had up to 1,000 visiting fans on a regular basis. They put on a band and a raffle as well. Many fans also visit the many pubs and real ale / craft ale houses in Chorley where the pub and restaurant scene is vibrant at the expense of Blackburn.

Yes, I also believe that is something the new WATR Board are looking at. There has been keen interest in buying Rovers, information was passed to the club and SW confirmed to us that he was also contacted by a potential buyer. The point of the post above re Preston is to show that there are buyers out there and to try and put to bed the idea that no one would want to buy us. The stumbling block of course is that the owners, and their silent partners, do not appear to want to sell.
-
When the Chorley boys do our away trips we always stay in hotels in the town or city we are visiting. About 10 of us stay there, we drink there and we eat there. The 10 of us add a decent wack to the local economy; multiply that many times over with other visiting fans and you are potentially talking £1M+ every season or two. BwD Council is missing a trick.

Have a look at Blackburn Market to how badly the town is run. The bakers have just left and we are very soon to be left with only one butcher when Tom Woods goes to Colne High St at a rent of 70% less than he pays at the market. I come to Blackburn for 3 things: the butcher in the market; the fish stall in the market; and Rovers. I never come to Ewood anymore outside of a game as the club shop is never open at the times I can make it. To be honest Blackburn as a town and a council is a complete and utter mess. It is about time the Council started to see how they can make it easier for folk to attend Ewood Park rather than penalising them.

I always assumed it was at the end of his notice period. I guess at his level he was on 6 months notice rather than 3.
