  1. Is this yet another cost cutting exercise? Rovers used to pay for a guy with a falcon to come to the stadium a couple of times a week to scare away the pigeons and seagulls. It now appeared that we have a plastic falcon instead. Any ideas of a nickname for the plastic falcon? I fancy ‘Pasha the Pretend Peregrine’. I just had a closer look at the above photo. The paint on the roof steelwork is peeling away and the Brian Douglas plastic wrap is starting to peel off. Some basic maintenance needs to take place.
  2. I was sat with a group of Rovers junior players this afternoon and they were laughing at Kargbo and Gueye.
  3. I have been saying this for weeks. He is dreadful and it takes 76 mins to get him off. I would have taken him off at 6 minutes.
  4. The Personal Assistant, Christina Haines, to the COO and CEO (when he / she is finally announced) left Rovers today for Training 2000. She is a lovely lady who has been very loyal to Rovers. Good luck Christina. I wish you well in your new employment. You did right to jump ship.
  5. You do realise he was a free transfer rather than “an undisclosed fee.” Those were words agreed with Rangers to help your club save face.
  6. The Strikers Lounge in the BBE for our younger fans is closed today with no explanation.
  7. My friend* was going to take his grandson to the Strikers Lounge pre match today as he does every home game. It is closed and no explanation was given nor available. Does anyone know why please? *They are ST holders living in central Preston. Will the club please note not all supporters are from within the confines of BwD 🤔
  8. You have summed it up well Tony. Ironically the last few times I have bought a bottle of lemonade from the concourse it was given to me with the top still in place. I guess the server gave me a good look up and down and came to the conclusion I am not the type to throw the bottle on the pitch or dare I say it at the Directors area EDIT: I have stocked up on some Whist pies from Bowens in Chorley this morning. To the club official reading these posts I am going to secrete them in my underpants to keep them warm; you are more than welcome to try and remove them. The pleasure will be mine, and yours!! 🤣
  9. 210mm I may go to the Club Shop (it is normally shut when I am able to go) and buy an item and ask (pay for) for a plastic bag larger than A4. That should be interesting. Seriously though this is pathetic from the Club. They are the experts in pissing off fans.
  10. Another £250k for Rovers if he plays.
  11. There are ways round it. Indeed in the JW Upper supporters are often sat watching the game with a pint. No one bothers.
  12. It is produced by a 3rd party who produce anniversary books for a number of clubs such as Villa and Spurs. They have done some decent publications but as you will have heard at the WATR AGM Suhail wanted the owners to do the introduction and Steve Waggott sensibly advised against given the threat to book sales. I don’t know what the ultimate outcome is but I would guess, and it is a guess, given that SW has gone it is Suhail who would have determined the outcome.
  13. If the book is a limited edition it is normal to state how many are being produced for sale. A little birdy at Ewood tells me they are doing a “gold trimmed edition for special guests”. I guess the club executives are expecting us to subsidise these.
  14. I take my own food and drink in with me as do most around me. The guys close by have coffee in a flask and top it up with whiskey. More fans will be doing the same.
  15. The Club said existing staff (by dint a diminishing number) were exempt but new staff would pay.
  16. Yes however the price of pies and gravy granules have gone through the roof. The point is that the club were lying when they referred to £15 as that is only for 8 games.
  17. No. They have now upped it to £18.75 for the majority of games. It is also not available for a few games such as PNE. Match-by-Match Pricing: GOLD (Norwich City, Ipswich Town, Sheffield United, Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall, Charlton Athletic, Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion, Coventry City) Silver (Swansea City, Stoke City, QPR, Oxford United, Watford, Hull City, Bristol City, Portsmouth) £18.75 £15
  18. The Sky licence should be for the whole of Ewood Park not a separate one for Blues. Unless of course Sodexo pay for Jacks Kitchen and the Club are responsible for Blues. Regardless of the above it is tight arsed penny pinching, totally embarrassing. I am minded to slip a Fire Stick in the Blues TV feed and see if the Club notices.
  19. The great Willie Donachie is presently living down the road from me in the Chorley area. He goes to see his wife who is in a home with advanced dementia every day. Every day she does not recognise him but asks to go home with him. He leaves in tears every time. So so sad.
  20. A few positives from yesterday: Cantwell’s distribution, effort and goal; the excellent Alebiosu; and a decent performance from Hedges. Yuki again ran around like a headless chicken, he contributed little and his positioning was poor. However it is what is happening behind him that concerns me. We are so ponderous coming out of midfield and defence with slow movement of the ball and too many touches and passes. By the time we reach the final 1/3 the opposition have their defensive shape back. We need experience and guile. You only get this with experience and virtually all of that is being shipped out in order to reduce the pay bill and replace with mostly inferior players. As Parson says our cover is thin; it is paper thin. As soon as our 3 subs came on I said to my mate we are going to blow this. I am sorry but Gueye is simply not good enough, even as an impact sub; his first touch is appalling and he miss times 90%+ of his headers - perhaps Rovers should should sent a scout to Witton Park rather than France, Belgium or West Africa. The warning signs are there. Who do we have at the Club willing, able or experienced enough to sort it out? Suhail is not capable…..I would rather trust Mrs Miggins the tea lady with the task.
  21. This is what Birmingham City are doing. Puts us to shame when all we are aware of are a few cloth caps (not Peaky Blinders), some additional display cases, and a home game v Derby with no fireworks. https://www.bcfc.com/pages/en/media-article/blues-launch-keep-right-on-campaign-to-mark-150th-anniversary
  22. We were told it was a new addition. In my humble opinion it is all about trying to increase value for future sale.
