There was only two things the difference between the two sides Rooney and the lack of a Rovers striker My view from high above the Manchester scummy air is that Rovers can be fiercely PROUD of themselves. We fought, we harried, we scored we were CHEATED Rovers were certainly not the poor relations and our supporters can be proud that we consistently sung throughout the 90 mins whereas united sang after each goal and 3 minutes before the end. I am not bitter about the result, more annoyed that the spineless ref could not bear to book united players let alone grant a surefire penalty against them. That man is a bigger knob than fergie. All in all Rovers one thing was proven last night. We have a marvellous backbone of a team that can play as well as battle. We need a striker and we need a midfielder. Kuqi is NOT or ever will be Premiership quality. Tugay is NO longer able to run the midfield when the opposition have a runaround midfielder. Two mistakes = 2 goals last night. Anyhow, FA Cup next -

For anyone with doubts, THAT information came from the training ground, Bellamy pulled up 5 minutes into the game versus bolton and will not be risked. Its so sad if it is to be believed as I really thought Rovers could win the match -

[Archived] Hughes Challenges Board
1864roverite replied to John's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Rovers can never be a top club, we will always have the selling factor or breeding club culture, both for playes and managers alike. we could never keep a player such as Duff we will certainly find it hard to keep Mark Hughes as manager if he keeps this club progressing Rovers clearly punch way above their status, its a credit to the mamanger, the player, the board and whoever is associated with our team. Take the trust fund away and Rovers will find their level is mediocre championship football. There is no way to buck this current trend of wavering attendances. Options talked about are a settled price for matchday tickets, players wages cpas etc etc etc quite simply to be a Rovers supporter is a football supporters dream, we lived it and are still doing so. be grateful whilst it lasts -

Rooney to be charged ? UMMMMM interesting. I wonder how this one pans out. Rooney 3 game ban for that abusive behaviour Nelsen banned for 1 game for stating the truth makes you wonder ???? -

I agree with Scotty about the tactics being wrong. Am I the only one to have noticed Bellamy pull up with his left hamstring 5 minutes after coming on ? You could see him flexing and stretching and it seemed to hamper him when setting off. Emerton should have stayed on the park. Dickov should have stayed on and we should have completely rested Bellamy. This was not a match for those shouting for Tugay, he was better off on the bench for a rest. 7 games unbeaten, I will have some of that. I wonder if we can see of Newcastle next week to make it 8 ? as for those numpties in the Riverside, well a throwback to Burnden park many moons ago when we drew 2-2, anyone remember them clowns coming over the turnstyles when barker scored ? -

stop Rooney and you stop united it appeared today that uniteds other players are not simply on the same wavelength as rooney. united now HAVE to progress in the fa cup and they now MUST win their in the middle league game. Rovers have an opportunity beckoning and with a rested Bellamy its looking 10/1 odds are inviting -

TBH its history, he is history keep the memories but now he plays for the enemy, like shearer, sutton and everyine else who donned the blue and white halves and moved on. cant see him playing or scoring Rovers win and a clean sheet -

we are under NO pressure we are not expected to win 10/1 to get to the final ? cracking odds for an upset lets take the blue machine to mould t and come away with a smile penalties for me after a hard fought draw -
A an afternoon after view from the JW Upper great game great Rovers performance Jim if manure dominated that first half I was at the wigan game. You clown, they didnt dominate the first half WE DID and should really have been 3-1 up its as simple as that. The crowd from my view was that there were never 6500 empty seats. The most sparesly populated part of the stadium was the family stand and a few seats behind us. My view on the second leg is that Rovers should stick with the same game plan. They only have themselves to fear. Rovers can now put this game away for a couple of weeks, its Bolton next. Get a win in that one and were rocking clear of any relegation battle. Newcastle away next up is a difficult one, especially with Bellamy suspended. But is that a blessing in disguise ? My view is that Rovers are under NO pressure whatsoever at mnure. united will never play defensively so Rovers can play on the counter. Come Rovers supporters get behind them at mankland and lets see the smile wiped off the arse that is fergie

at 1400hrs John William appeared on sky and said the crowd was nearing 24-25k depending on ticket sales this afternoon. 22k can take a hike, its will be around 25k plus
-
repetative mode manure will field their strongest side as it is their only relaistic chance of silverware this season apart form t'wooden spoon. get on with it kick off is approx 6hrs away

every mank based paper reporting a fergie fledgling team to play at the real theatre of dreams tomorrow night as they have a massive game against city on Saturday morning. If you believe that you will believe anything. I fully expect vds, neville and rio in the back five, scholes and ronaldo in the midfield with giggs and vnd plus rooney up front. It will make it all the seeter when Rovers steal a march in a first leg win
