  1. scotty a bully ??? the real true meaning of scotty = roversfanaticbigdrinkerfallyoverhavesomemorebeerilikeitalothavealaughtakeitserioushavesomemorebeerwatchroverstalkfootballandthenmaybedosomework
  2. we have learned to walk before running after the last years experiences. Under MH Rovers are now better equipped with fitness, have a huge work ethic, have obviously got a team spirit throught the spine of the team and have a group of players who are playing for the shirt and the club. I really think we can give any of the teams in this league a decent game. It will be interesting to see what happens after this break. The injuries may well have cleared up, we may have a full squad of players fighting for those 16 shirts come match day. I cannot wait for the next home game, just to see the reaction of the supporters. I mean, after Evertons recent mini revival we can expect at least 5k Evertonians. If Rovers wavering supporters are wanting confimration of what they have begun to read in the press then we should see an increase of at least 1k home supporters to add to the 17k loyal followers.
  3. maybe jim you and a couple of geriatrics can wheel yourselves to the ground and swell the hordes
  4. from what I saw of the wigan game both teams were pretty dire. of the players on show only Taylor would get into the Rovers team. this chimbonda bloke strikes me as the man who found gold. a player in the diawarra mold (kaba that is) who is on a streak of luck as wide as the mersey estuary, if he is wearing gloves now god help him on new years eve
  5. and they go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and..................
  6. The rain and bad weather has done nothing to dampen Rovers fireworks on this years bonfire night An all round great performance, a destructive force and at the same time an atacking performance that showed we are not just a kicking team, todays game should stick well and truly in the big mouth that is Lawro. Rovers started out straight from the blocks and it was very quickly 2-0 Blues. The game was so comfortably in the bag until Charlton broke and scored a scrappy goal. I am not too sure why Lucas let the ball go past his head but only he can answer that. Suddenly the tempo, movement and passing game we had so successfully played drifted apart. Too many loose passes, not enough movement and too much giving easy balls away. second half began exactly as the first. Rovers quickly on top and then 3-1 up. The game almost won. Rovers then went on a 25 minute spell where they played really good passing football, totally contradicting everyone in the football world outside Ewood. A fourth goal subliemly despatched to the net by Bellamy sealed a fantastic win. 4-1 ! who would have believed it ? not too many moans about this game. the crowd ? yes 17000 Rovers fans, the die hard support. A pathetic effort from Charlton especailly after their team had won all of their away games this season. Rovers and especially Tugay, tried at the end to sever the nerves of their fans by too much flashy ball, not enough thinking and only two on line goal clearances saved us from a really bad ending. not impressed with the MOTM award, my view there were two contenders, Neill and Zurab. All the Rovers fans who think that Lucas cannot play, watch the match on footie first. he was superb, a 90 minute all action display, no booking, played in 3 positions, ran for 90 minutes and his only blot was that he was at fault for the goal. Zurab must be wondering just how gers let him go. Another fine display in the middle. friedal - 8 - some good saves but generally unemployed. gray -7 inj - did well until hamstring went. NEILL - 9 - my motm. zurab 8 - solid in defence. todd -7 - coped well with Bent until he also departed injured. tugay - 8 - back to his mercurial best although at the end back to his alter ego. pederson - 7 - drifted in and out but was there to make the all important 3rd goal count. reid - 7 - solid throughout, some good moves and plenty of won tackles. emerton - 8 - great game, fantastic finish and ran the whole game long. surely his best game for a while. dickov - 7 - good header for the finish, out of the game for a long time before subbed. bellamy - 8 - his all round game is pure class, he can run, he can pass and he can bloody well find the net. subs axe - 7 - solid imo should have gone into midfield rather than RB kuqi - 7 - header set up bellamy bentley - 7 - seemed up for it despite the weather and not really enough time to make a solid impression so its yet another happy saturday night. Rovers clearly have a team spirit that I havent seen for a couple of years at Ewood. The players fight for each other, they run for each other and they would all appear to have respect for each other. the supporters who are wavering surely have to come back and purchase the half season tickets. Rovers are on a roll and who knows where this team can get us to this season. we clearly have an opportunity to seriously lay the foundations for a good season. the next 7 or 8 games are in the main mostly winnable. city and arsenal away - would take 3 points everton and wham at home - 6 points sunderland, boro and wigan are all winnable and would happily accept 7 points out of that lot. to go into 2006 with about 33 points would be just superb and a just reward for a job well done
  7. Taylor - a future England centre half how wrong can a prediction be
  8. sticking with the 2-0 winning home run. Everyone mentions Bent, however, he may not be even fit to play. I would imagine Rovers will counter the threat of murphy, take him out and thats the playmaker out of the game. Every play goes through him with the added speed of Denis, who I think will not like it one bit at Ewood. Cant see more than 300 charlton fans crowd lucky to break 19000
  9. akin to Scotty's view, some of the tripe is unbelievable Brad may have had an off game, but surely he is entitled to it. After all, how many games has he singlehandedly kept us in the game or even won it for us ? The 3rd goal was one that is hard to defend against, we saw it at manure away when MGP popped one in, it happened to us yesterday, it has happened many more times and will again. we dont have a keeper of Brad's stature in reserve. I just hope that in the next game when he makes a world class save, there are similar posts regardingjust how good he actually is
  10. I personally think it is a half decent draw. bring it on Rovers
  11. I dont think Rovers can have anything else but Pride after that performance. yes we got beat, but the manner of it has made the big guns take note of what is happening at Ewood. Everyone knew Rovers were on a loser, the best team in England having drawn two games were never gonna lose or draw a third on the bounce, especially agaisnt little old BRFC. Rovers ruffled the blue russkis on their own pitch. I watched the game on Sky First, Rovers did well. For me the weakest link was Tugay. Oh yes, he is a fine passer of the ball but too many passes go astray and his legs cant keep going for 90 minutes. I cant slate my team. The only thing I will say that is slmost going to be repeated over and over again MIKE RILEY IS A FIRST CLASS T*T
  12. I think there is a lot of positiveness to take out of last nights result. yes CFC are now expected to walk the floor with us. its pay back time for Ewood massacre match. its pay back for 2 poor chelsea results. it simply cannot happen that the special one will have to face the cameras without 3 points and a good hiding for the opposition. yet, I see a point heading our way at least. Rovers have to be 0-0 at half time, it doesnt matter how dire the performance. Enter the man that is Bellamy, hated and loathed at best. A quick pass and he is away, Chelsea battered and tired back 4 cant keep up with him and he has the nouse to beat cech. All Rovers have to do is not sit back, get at them from the off and fight the the good fight with all their might.
  13. Jagielka has a £5m tag on his head according the SUFC manager Wazzock. Koumas is the type of player that could fit into our style of play. He can certainly play a bit He has a decent engine He can score and He is an aggressive little so and so. Will be the cheapest option for Rovers allowing any potential funds for a defdner and a loan attacker to see us make the last road to Europeean football.
  14. impressed with the crowd, never expected over 15k Now then, 3-0 will sound like an unexpected score, it will sound like a doddle for Rovers, who cares ? We are through to the next round. Can Rovers now make it 3 Lancs v Yorks derbies in a row ? Come draw makers, Rovers v Doncaster has an exciting ring about it Lets hope that the arse v chelsea is the first tie out of the pot on Saturday afternoon
  15. Happy with the 2-0 win and the 3 points. yes Rovers were slow in the first half but brum didnt exaclt yocme out to play did they ? Yes Tugay was on and off as was Bentley Yes Dickov missed a sitter and scored a 10/10 for the dive Yes Kuqi made a nuisance of himself all game Yes Bellers scored a deserved second Yes we won 2-0 and fot 3 points Yes bumley got tupped again Yes the biggest club in Britain were very very poor by bumleys standards
  16. if everton can hold them then so can we pundits will predict an avalanche for chelski lawro will predict a 4-0 whitewash the special on will still say that it will be difficult and then revert to slating our little club as being nothing more than bruisers the build up will have every foreign star except Duffer lining up to berate our players a surprise in store for the moneybags team
  17. the Country's biggest club have sold just over 1000 tickets of the 1700 allocated and Rovers have allowed supporters to pay on the door should they wish. Brum have Dunn,Gray,Clemence and Melchiot definately missing lazaridis may have a fitness test butt and cunningham back from suspensions
  18. The numper that is Lawro has predicted a poor game with a 1-1 draw and then has the temerity to state that he sees Everton getting a point off Chelski keep em coming, i'm here all week
  19. I would suspect that the Premier League committee will be heavily involved and it will be THEM that actually decide what the best deal is. despite this I see Terrestrial TV benefiting big style. If the PL committee cannot sort it then it will only lead to one thing the break up of the Premiership and the forming of a Euro Super League
  20. melchiot now missing for the game maybe dunny might play right back
  21. sunderland 1-0 winners souness out of work his backteam of merry men also down the pan and all pining for a return to Ewood Oh and another one Rovers do brum bruce resigns and takes over at Newcastle
  22. 19500 ? SG how dare you ? Brum are the midlands biggest club and will bring 10000 supporters alone pLUS 3000 fans who want to pay on the door 2-0 Rovers
