With the crowds at ewood dropping (see 20,697 post) and the blackburn asian population at about 20% are rovers not missing a potentially large constitunet?
why is it still you don't see many Asian faces at ewood (saying that I have seen a slight increase in the numbers over the past 10 years).
is it because of the associations that english football has had with racism over the last 30 years (saying that I've not heard one racist chant at ewood) that puts many asians
Or is it because football is a second sport to most 1st and 2nd generation Asians (cricket being the 1st)?
..or perhaps there are not many asian role models on the pitch
Is it not time that rovers made specific efforts at attracting the Asian supporter (or perhaps they already are?)
1st half was rubbish, much better 2nd half, derserved the win
looks like hughes is trying to make us harder to beat, putting flitcroft in midfield rather than tugay
I'm sad to see him go, but to be honest I think he had taken the team as far at it can go. I've heard a lot of rubbish today about him having a poor record at blackburn
excuse me.he took over at ewood when we were in the wrong half of the 1st division with a load of very average players. Got rid of these and in his 1st full season gaine us promotion. Then came the worthy cup and 6th place.
It's gone down hill a bit since last season but on the whole I think his reign has been a success and will remebered by me as one of our better managers
hers a fact of note...the last 3 seasons the team playing the rovers in the 1st game (derby, sunderland and wolves last year) have all ended up going down
so i ask myself what is the point of west brom turning up for the game and just give the rovers the 3 points?
no not in that way...
from the forwards on the books, Stead, Dickov, Gallagher and Jansen
who should be the number one pairing?
I favour Staed and Jansen to start with and see how it goes
it be a good opportunity for Matty Jansen to get is career on the roads again
Crewe away on a cold and damp november evening in 1999
the result: 0-0
Being the only rovers fan in the student union during 1994-95 season
Braving the man city fans, bburn end last game of season 2000
very very keen on the new Chemical Brothers track "The Golden Path" featuring the singer from The Flaming Lips. It samples an old 80's tune but for the life of me can't put my finger on it
The Beach by Alex Garland-a fantastic holiday read
..or you could take "Burnley: The Great Years" But this will last all of about 2 seconds
PS There is probably no such book, I just made it up!
