Wasnt the question tho was it? ?

The most important employee of any football club is the manager.

He makes or breaks a club.

Burnley as a club have been transformed by the money earned in the PL and their success there is all down to Dyche.

A football a manger is therefore worthy of his hire.  Pay peanuts, get monkeys.

Question was How much money do you honestly think we pay manager as a club under the current owners?

Well for a start, I'd slash Waggott's reported £300k to £100k and throw that into the pot.  If Waggott's not happy with that then good luck finding another job and I think he'd need it!  Better still, just get rid of him!!!

The Brentford goalkeeper keeper who isnt there now. He left before Christmas. Raya still makes mistakes even now.

Well he was there when Raya joined!

Even the best goalies in the world make mistakes as Alisson has shown with Liverpool.

Brentford have conceded fewer goals than any other team in the Championship - I suspect Raya is doing pretty well for them!!!

    There is a surprise.

I told the reasons last week Mercer. not repeating myself. Look it up Mercer.

Raya wanted out last summer. We know that Mowbray failed with his 1st 2 choices to replace him.

    and ask yourself why?

I think he had very little respect for Benson and, IMO, no wonder why.  Benson as far as I'm aware, has never played the game at even a non league level (though I stand to be corrected) and started off as a lad in Carlisle's Community set-up.  I've seen Benson at Brockhall and also his match day routines and I am totally unimpressed.  I remember one match last season when Benson came out some three minutes or so before the players were due back out after half time, presumably to give Raya a work out.  Raya rocked up with the rest of the Rovers' players and there was only time for Benson to throw just one ball at him.  I mentioned the incident on here.  To me, that showed a distinct last of respect for Benson.  Raya has stated one of the reasons for going to Brentford was to work with the goalkeeper coach there - it says it all, IMO.

Just think if Rovers did sign Joe Hart - a goalie with a drawer full of medals and caps and the kid from Carlisle rocks up, 'hi Joe, I'm going to make you a better goalie'.  It's laughable.

I have mention that the club hasn't had the right structure in terms of scouting, recruitment, data analysis for seasons going back to Bowyer time the club. This is problem the club has had for years and the clubs and people they have employed at the boardroom level should have put in place.

We need have now investing in a proper scouting structure with money, time and employing people so we need to see this come forward this summer with signings from Europe as well as the UK

No excuse for Mowbray's player trading.

IMO, his judgement is awful.  Evidence, £20million+ (including wages) spunked up the wall on Brereton and Gallagher for starters.  Add to that the sale of Raya only to be replaced by Walton.  IMO, Raya was p1ssed off with Mowbray singling him out and also the coaching he was getting from the community trust lad from Carlisle.

I posted the reasons last week Mercer to yourself and others

Would you had wanted that poll after Bristol City win?

Absolutely.  Beating Bristol City was no great feat.  Johnson had already lost the plot there before turning up at Ewood and PRE lock down, they'd scraped 2 points out of 15.  It would have been hugely disappointing not to have beaten them.

I will ask you again.  What does Mowbray need to do, or not to do, to get sacked?

  7. Just now, chaddyrovers said:

Mercer, we arent going to agree Mowbray or Keane at all. I wanted Mowbray to stay as manager for next season and I have said who I would pick to replace him after he goes. I aint wavering from this

Yes I am aware of the FFP situation, blimey I have been posting about it all last week. Did you miss all them?

The squad can been change by not renewing the out of contract players and selling one or 2 players like Nyambe to give you some movement plus I suspect the FFP rules will be relax has UEFA have done.

    Simple question Chaddy - WHY?

Get a poll organised on here and I bet 90% want him out.

  8. 10 minutes ago, chaddyrovers said:

sounds like Mowbray is going to shake the squad this transfer window in order to get that top 6 next season

What the feck then has he been doing since he came here then other than spunking a fortune up the wall on Brereton and Gallagher.

This is MOWBRAY'S SQUAD - all player trading has been his.  IMO, we are unbalanced, have gaping holes in key areas and, in the main, are bereft of quality.  It's all down to him.  Shambolic, IMO.

And you want more of the same!!! - wake up and smell the coffee Chaddy!!!

Roy Keane? no thanks. Worst suggestion. Can't get a club job in the UK.

no personality, no man management skills and no tactical knowledge. Football has move on from Keane management days - Really ?  IMO, Mowbray certainly has none of the three qualities.

why keep comparing us to some of the biggest clubs in the world or one of the greatest manager and his backroom team? McClaren is a quality coach but he isn't a manager.   Again, you miss the point.  My point was relative to pre match routines.  IMO, ours are so, so poor and underline just what a poor backroom staff we have.  Doesn't matter if United are a big club,  McClaren's session was electric and you could see just how the players responded.

who are protesting against? The owners? or Mowbray?

Hart would be worth a punt, but only for £5k a week. We should get the manager of a club that will be playing in Europe next season. There are some absolute crackers going around at the moment.

It'll be either Mowbray or Damien Johnson as manager at the start of next season. We will be lucky to have the same level of squad again. We need to brace ourselves for that level of reality.

I think Mowbray will walk IF the terms are right.

IMO, his body language and demeanor are those of someone on the brink.

Think Johnson is the best of a pretty poor set of coaches we have but don't think he's ready, or even cut out, to be 1st team manager.

We need a manager who will galvanise the club, excite the fans and make the wider football world sit up and take note.

BB  is one of the worst players ever to play in a Rovers Shirt ,hes had enough games now to show what he has or hasn’t in his case .... terrible awkward running style and no control just looks thick and lost... The manager is to blame as he sees something others don’t

SG is Bang Average played in his Favoured position but absolutely atrocious out wide right

Johnson is here for a last payday and Too slow for a top 6 team

Walton is just a big lamp post ...

    So true.

Think BB and SG make the much maligned John O'Mara (going back to the early 1970's) look like another Shearer!  At least 'BIg John' averaged a goal every three games for Rovers if my memory is correct.

Keane is a borderline sociopath. He might knock a few heads together but we need more than that.

and that's why, with that type of manager, you put a clever coach next to him!

Busby had Murphy, Shankly had Paisley, Clough had Taylor, Kenny (who said he couldn't put on a session) had Harford.

I sit in the family stand Lowe's pre match warm ups are really poor when he conducts the shooting drills his setup play is all over the place. As Venus is really our DOF now it wouldn't be the worst idea to freshen his coaching staff up ( he won't )

Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to have opportunity to see a number of managers and coaches put on sessions at different clubs.  The good ones stand out a mile with their passion, positivity, know-how and communication.

You mention pre match warm ups - one of the best with the ball I ever saw at Ewood was when McClaren was Fergie's number 2 at United.  It really fizzed and those lads were really buzzing - sadly, they were too much for Rovers that day.

  14. 3 minutes ago, PeteJD13 said:

yeah i don't disagree with that, he's over complicated what we need when he's tried to play with a false 9. It is my major criticism of him especially this season i don't really know what style we play with apart from a lose 4231 with 5 players out of position

IMO, Mowbray thinks he's a Pep but in reality, he's a managerial dinosaurian who is well past his sell by date.  Think it's compounded by, IMO, the dire quality of his staff (Venus, Lowe & Benson) - I've watched these guys on match days and concluded the lights are on but there's no one at home!

  15. Just now, PeteJD13 said:

to be fair to say i was underwhelmed was an understatement, i felt we could have and arguably should have done better with that recruitment job but credit to mowbray i think he has done s decent job since.

    Really!?

After three and a half years of Mowbray, we are nothing more than a mid table Championship team going backwards with an unbalanced squad with gaping holes in key areas.

If Mowbray's building our club then God help us if he gets it wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apart from sunderland for a limited time what's he actually done. Yeah he gets angry and shouts that will wear off really quickly there is a reason he's been out of work for ages

    We need a shake up.

He's a personality with a drawer full of medals and caps.  Doesn't suffer fools.  Think he's now more mature.

As I said, would need a clever coach next to him like Kenny had Harford.

So then, realistic candidates to replace him?

Hughton, Hughes, Karanka, Keane (sorry DE but he'd crack a few heads), Ainsworth, Robins, McCarthy, Monk and even Strachan.

Mowbray's time is up, we need a change. And soon.

I'd go for Keane with a clever coach to back him up.

Keane looks and is absolutely menacing and, IMO, our 'holiday club' would sh1t themselves!

  18. Just 6 points from our last 8 league games.

5 games to go and I can't see us taking more than 4 points (Reading & Luton) from those games - think there's a risk we'll lose the lot.

So that would be anything in the range of 6 to 10 points from our closing 13 games.  A shocking statistic underlining we aren't progressing and the need for managerial change.

  19. Mixed day.

Positives: pub, BBQ, won £120 this week backing against Rovers (Barnsley / Leeds), a quality red for tonight's film.

    Negatives: watched the wretched match

IMO, anyone who still thinks Mowbray should remain Rovers' manager should book themselves an appointment at their nearest Priory Clinic.

    Almost lost for words.

Leeds didn't really need to get out out of first gear - if they'd been really at it, we could have lost by 5 or 6.

IMO, Walton, Bennett, Johnson, Holtby, Rothwell, Gallagher, Samuel  should all feck off along with Waggott, Mowbray, Venus, Lowe and Benson.

Again, IMO, we are not progressing as a football club - we are going backwards quickly.  I think we have huge, huge, problems and have next to nothing to show for Mowbray's three and half year tenure.

Travis badly caught in possession for Leeds' first goal - never a foul

Walton badly positioned for Leeds 2nd goal

Walton a complete joke for Leeds' third goal

Doubt Gallagher could hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

Who on earth was the lead commentator - IMO, based on some of his observations and comments, he's a joke who knows very, very little about football.

IMO, Walton should not play for Rovers again and Mowbray should be sacked tonight should the self purported man of integrity not resign.

I really think we are a complete and utter shambles as a football team.  Are we really a better team than we were under Kean or Coyle.  Those are the depths I sadly think we've plummeted to.

Thats an honest assessment from an honest manger, he understands and feels the frustration the same as the rest of us do.

We haven't had honesty since those ******* took us over, its always been about self preservation from Agnew to Shaw, from Coyle to ***t to Singh.

What he's doing here is calling himself and the players out, we're not good enough to make the play offs, thats been clear for 2 seasons and he has to improve us or leave.

But in the clamber to replace Mowbray, have a think about the possible replacements - Can you find 1 manager willing to come who can build a Championship promotion side with no money? Warnock was the man, we had him and then lost him, another catastrophic decision, but you'll not find many more out there.

The last decision before Mowbray and Waggot relegated us, be careful what you wish for.

IMO, doing nothing and treading water, at best, is not an option.

Tennyson was right: "Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."

I think we need to replace Mowbray.  A risk yes, all managerial appointments are a risk but we simply can't remain on the road to nowhere.
