Posted a few days ago, I think Mowbray is under more pressure now than he ever has been at Ewood. I think he's got a points target for August and he's out if he doesn't hit it. Got £50 on him to be first Championship manager to leave at 19/1.
-
Wont be much from Sharpe today, not that we get much anyway from, IMO, Ewood's ancillary mouthpiece, as his mate is getting married today!
-
Even if a possibility, very much doubt Rovers could handle that in 9 hours. Even medicals seem to take 2 or 3 days!
-
If it was your money, would you buy Dack for £12million? I think Dack, just like Rhodes, will disappear with barely a trace should he leave Rovers.
-
You have to respect Roy Hodgson's managerial career but this is the guy who allowed Rovers to spend £10million on Christian Dailly and Nathan Blake just over 20 years ago. So it would be no surprise if he's happy to stump up £12million for Dack which I reckon would be a good deal for us given, as you refer to, Dack's perforamances in 2019.
-
Who says we aren't desperate to sell? Mowbray muted the sale of Dack in Blues back in Feb..
-
If true, he's off. Might well be the reason for the Hanley and Murphy speculation. Dack going would be no surprise at all.
-
John Lowey and Kevin Stonehouse were two honest lads who always gave their best in the famous blue and white shirt. Both provided some great moments back in those days. RIP.
-
Spot on. Met a friend yesterday who is in the Parsonblue league for faith, loyalty and optimism and even he is seriously p1ssed off about Mowbray's comments and actions, or lack of them, over the last six months.
-
Maybe, but if you aint got a job you have to compromise................
-
Not a snowball's chance in hell of Jones wanting to come here. If United are prepared to let him out on loan, and that's one big IF, he'll have much better opportunities than us.
-
and what makes it worse are the new contracts dished out by Mowbray and Waggott!!! Think Ewood and Brockhall are now nous free zones!!!
-
A staggering article. So our investment in ‘booths', 'smart screens', 'recreation room' and a 'new viewing platform' is going to make all the difference and edge us towards those key ‘marginal gains’ on the pitch. IMO, an article full of bullsh1t and why Waggott and Mowbray need to go.
-
I stand by my post. By your argument (Charlton being one of the favourites for relegation), I was fully justified in forecasting a Rovers' win and indeed they should have won! Why bother playing football matches - just let the outcomes be determined by the bookies' odds?
-
Come on Jim, Charlton should have been put to the sword and if Mowbray had got his team selection right, despite the obvious need for a couple of new defenders, then I am certain we would have started the season with that all important win. Fulham is a 'nice' place to go and play football - it's not like Millwall! Fulham have just been relegated, are in some disarray, and not known for their fighting qualities. First match up and they lose to newly promoted Barnsley (as we lost to newly promoted Charlton). Can't be a bad time to play them. If you don't think Rovers are capable of getting a draw there then it begs the question when and where do you think we will get even a point never mind three points!?
-
If you are looking to bounce back then Fulham would be your opponents. They are no great shakes as their loss at Barnsley showed. Very much doubt they will be as determined as Charlton and therefore think we'll come away with a point in a 2-2 draw.
-
Mulgrew is on too much dollar - doubt there'd be any takers at his level of wages.
-
Sorry but I think Mowbray needs to be out of our club. IMO, he's a football dinosaur who would add no value in a DOF role; just what are his competences for that role!?!?
-
and I think there will come a tipping point firstly for Mowbray (sooner than some may think) and secondly for our club. IMO, they will not continue chucking away some £20million / season for much longer.
-
Until they appoint a quality CEO and a quality football manager then nothing will change. Think best we can hope for is stagnation. I think as a club, £millions is spunked away on footballers who are not up to the mark. Beggars belief that a fraction of that can't be invested in a quality CEO and a quality football manager. - as I said yesterday, those are the two guys who will make or break a club.
-
I think it's more a case that the budget isn't there to fund transfers. It's all contradictory. Didn't Mowbray say we had to sell Raya to fund other signings? Been saying most of the summer I thought we'd barely a transfer pot to p1ss in. Also said I thought we were now at the stage where every £1 spent on fees / wages had to at least been matched by the same in on fees / savings on wages. Sadly, I think I might be proven to be correct.

Share issue to parent company Venky's London Limited who in turn lend the money to The Blackburn Rovers and Athletic Limited. Think that makes it about £22million in the last 12 months. Most likely explanation is that it's to ensure we have sufficient working capital to cover the huge ongoing losses since Venky's became owners. Issued share capital now circa £174million - a staggering number for a club of our size. If only they could turn the clock back then I am sure Big Sam would have been our manager for a number of years after his departure. Not sure when the Rupee will drop!

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17817439.rovers-dont-anticipate-crazy-end-transfer-window/ 'Though Waggott said the sales weren’t needed to fund the move for Gallagher'. IMO, a load of bullsh1t in the article from Waggott - I'm sure many supporters wont buy it but sadly some will.
-
Think most of our problems are self inflicted. I think it was lunacy to appoint Waggott on, if I'm right, the recommendation of Mowbray. Also, IMO, Waggott has not got an eye catching CV / track record. I think our owners just kept shooting themselves in the foot.
-
A manager and CEO can make or break a club. Invest in those two appointments to get the right quality and you've half a chance. IMO, employ third raters and you get what is happening, or not happening, at Rovers. It's crazy paying very average players big dosh at the expense of not investing in your two key positions (manager and CEO).
