  1. Tony will love a clean sheet and a late winner. I'm optimistic and just stuck a fiver on 2-0 Rovers at 55/1.
  2. South Africa superbly drilled, defensively excellent and far too physically strong for England. After the two semi finals, was very confident of England win........but. SA win fully deserved. Full stop. I'm backing Rovers to spring a South African surprise. Rovers to win 3-1.
  3. IMO, delusional bullsh1t targeted at our Indian owners - trying to buy a bit more time. I think Mowbray is really feeling the pressure and is hanging on by a thread now. Mowbray - if you really want to know what fitness, organisation, motivation, teamwork, tactics and good effective coaching really are then tune in to the Rugby World Cup Final tomorrow morning to watch our magnificent England team.
  4. Would have to be 3), however, you would need a manager who knew what he was doing and, IMO, Mowbray is most certainly not that man. You buy quality with a resale value not, IMO, dross like Armstrong, Brereton and Gallagher.
  5. It's a feckin disgrace. I might be wrong here but is that not the highest ever Ewood Park match day price in the history of Rovers? We are playing Owls at home in the Championship not Barca or Real Madrid in the Champions' League!!! Was going to go on Saturday but when I went online to get some tickets and saw the prices I thought feck that. I think Waggot generally shows very little business / commercial nous and has little feel for the club and its supporters. IMO, we are stuffed by an incompetent CEO and football manager.
  6. That thought fills me with horror. Without doubt, IMO, the manager is almost hopeless when it comes to player trading.
  7. Keighley was outstanding. Bancroft wasn't bad. Fox had it relative;y easy with Uncle Jack's support. All three were head and shoulders above Cheston and Waggot - think it's like PL v Blackburn Combination.
  8. Never said he was! Simply using him as an example.
  9. Why should I? Firstly, just shows there are 'bright young things' out there and secondly, shows what an impact a 'bright young thing' can have. Can't stand the argument pushed by some that there are no options out there. Over the years, the nature of my work has given me involvement in a number of sports (including football clubs) and I can tell you the ability levels of key administrators cuts right across the range of the good, the bad and the darn right ugly; so when I make comments, it is with the benefit of some experience and also the ability to benchmark different operators.
  10. Dack does and wins a lot of free kicks for Rovers - would drive me mad if I was an opposition fan. We shouldn't complain when it happens to us.
  11. Because it's not my feckin job! If Rovers want to employ me as a consultant then I'll do all the research and due diligence necessary and I dare say make a much better fist of it than Sulhail, Waggot or Cheston. There are unpolished diamonds out there (both players and managers) and it is up to the football clubs, including Rovers to find them. Other clubs do!
  12. I don't think we are fit enough (both physically and mentally) to play for 90+ minutes - in fact much beyond 30 minutes! IMO, that again is down to Mowbray and his support team. I've long argued on here that the club's dumbing down from top to bottom is reflected in the likes of Waggot, Mowbray, Venus, Lowe, Benson and our sports' science / medical department and I think I'very been proven right. Sadly, I think there is now so much dead wood in our club that we no longer need the proverbial taxi but a mini bus! I think we need hungry, dynamic and innovative personnel in our key posts starting with a CEO who feckin knows what he is doing.
  13. Mowbray buys and sells our players. Mowbray picks the team. The buck stops completely at Mowbray's door. There are simply no excuses.
  14. Rovers last 5 games - lost 3, drawn 2 - points 2 Hudders last 5 games - won 3, drawn 2 - points 11 What a difference a young, hungry, dynamic and innovative manager makes. Cowley doing in weeks what Mowbray talks about doing in years. Sulhail, Venky's - in my opinion, Mowbray has us heading back to League 1. IMO, a managerial dinosaur well past his sell by date. Act now before it's too late. And sack Waggott for giving Mowbray a contract until 2022 - IMO, crass stupidity.
  15. I'd take a real hammering with the fans turning on Mowbray if that's what it takes. A defeat by the odd goal or two wont make a difference. Slight change in tone in today's LT (think someone had a word with him following yesterday's nonsense) but still, IMO, full of bullsh1t: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers//
  16. Surely a perceived 'nice', 'loyal' man of great 'integrity' would walk away !?!? I've said it before, I've never bought the public persona. IMO, the way he's hung our young players out to dry at times and some of his public utterances tell a different story.
  17. and they include a centre back we tracked for over a year and could have had...............................................
  18. From the horse's mouth: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17992190.mowbrays-message-rovers-players-ahead-preston-trip/
  19. Perhaps he's now getting the informed coaching he needed and as such, his development grows. IMO, goalkeeping coach Benson is way, way out of his depth.
  20. I wouldn't want Moyes anywhere near our club. IMO, he is nowhere near as good a manager as he thinks he is. I know a number of Everton supporters who were glad to see the back of him - they thought he was negative and indecisive. Big Sam pulled off a miracle and kept Sunderland up - I think Moyes was found sadly wanting the season after. Although Hughes would be a big improvement, I would question whether he would still have the necessary fire in his belly to make the impact here as he did before. I think we need to find another Danny Cowley who has made a dramatic impact at Huddersfield in just a few short weeks. Youngish, hungry, dynamic and innovative.
  21. The 'heavy' fitness work should be done pre season and once the season kicks off, fitness should be about keeping the engine running. I've been saying for years that generally, I feel we are not physically and mentally fit and other teams seem to be both 2 yards quicker all over the field and are able to keep it going for 90 minutes plus. What we are seeing, IMO, is all down to the dumbing down of our club from top to bottom and our once decent sports science / medical department is no longer up to speed and hence the fitness issues (sharpness and stamina) and constant occurrence / recurrence of injuries.
  22. Think it was as clear as day from very early on that Brereton and Gallagher were two expensive duds. IMO, the signing of Brereton alone was a sackable offence.
  23. Don't buy the Holtby injury. Just read this article published earlier today in LT; no mention of an injury and, IMO, Mowbray talking as though Holtby is a 'kid' learning the game and not a player capped by Germany: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17983651.mowbrays-plan-rovers-new-boy-lewis-holtby-schedule/ Think it's unbelievable nonsense and why we need a managerial change.
  24. IMO, Mowbray has to be axed - it's a no brainer. Pointless giving him tonight or another three games or until Christmas. He's been here almost three years now and we know the nature of the beast. I think we are mentally and physically unfit for purpose, disorganised, unbalanced and churn out turgid and predictable football. Tactically, IMO, Mowbray is not at the races - how many times do we change formation during a match (once recall Bennett playing five different positions in one game), how many times does his substitutions actually make matters worse. As far player trading, absolutely woeful I think with £millions spunked away. It's time, IMO, our managerial dinosaur was replaced with a young, hungry and innovative manager. I think the taxi leaving Ewood should be big enough to also take Waggott, Venus, Lowe and Benson.
  25. And is why Rovers will win. Holtby and Dack will be too much for them and a two goal lead at half time should be sufficient to see us through This is the most winnable of the next four and we must make it count.
