PSG bought Mbappe for £165millionish at 18 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think it's all codswallop about Brereton. His age is irrelevant. He's either good enough for Rovers or he's not. If he isn't good enough to go straight into our team then it was the height of madness to commit to a £multi million deal. If a player can't handle the fee whether it's £1, £10 or £100 million then they don't have the bottle and shouldn't be signed. If Coyle had pulled such a stunt, he would have been castigated and this MB would be in meltdown.

So by that token, Mowbray would have done the same for say Messi or Ronaldo!?
-
Chaddy, face up to it, we all drop clangers from time to time whether it's in our personal lives or our working lives. You should not be trying to defend Mowbray. Mowbray should have the balls to tell the fans just what the feck is going on with Brereton. Did he personally scout him, was it his decision to sign him, why commit to a £7million deal when we've gaping holes in our squad, why not play him. I think Mowbray's stance on this one is unfathomable. IMV, there is something not right here. I don't know your circumstances but if you went out and blew £20,000 on a car and there was no food in your house nor clothes on your kids' backs, your wife or partner would be fully entitled to play merry hell with you.

Was that Fred Don.......can't remember surname. If it was, response is of no surprise.

Think Coyle and his staff were awful for us. Full stop. As for horses, had a nice win today and it didn't matter whether the horse won or lost - I'll leave that one with you!
-
There on Wednesday. Are you? Free pint offer still stands!
-
You are right - different management! Souey got us back to the PL and we lifted silverware in Cardiff with him. Souey made some indifferent signings but oh boy, Mowbray's managerial track record pales into insignificance when compared to Souey. As for Brereton, based on what I've seen so far, I think we'll be lucky to give him away. This signing, IMV, has all the hallmarks of a real clanger.
-
Not my mate Gav. Coyle undeniably did well in his managerial career until his second season at Bolton. Thereafter, I think he bombed badly. Let's have a bit of balance and fairness - he did after all, whether we like it or not, get Burnley into the PL (no mean feat).
-
And what do you think Brereton's current resale value is given he can't even break into a mediocre Championship team? Just remind me of Grabbi's resale value?
-
It's a two way thing Tony. Pick a team that excites, be positive and get on the front foot, let the opposition worry about us for a change, put players where they should be (no square pegs in round holes) and play the £7million man (fans can whiff bullshit from miles around) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You might be surprised just how the supporters respond.

Good post. There are options out there but I question our abilities to recruit well. To me, Dack is Mowbray's one and only real success. The rest are Joe Averages or the likes of Hart and Gladwin. Not one of Mowbray's signings this pre season / season has been a regular starter so far - that says it all. So on that basis, Mowbray has not improved the team as his signings can't be any better than what we already have. I don't buy any of this 'trust Tony' business - to me, he's tactically all over the place, doesn't get the best out of what he's already got (square pegs / round holes) and his recruitment is very average. The fact is our best three permanent signings over recent times have been Dack and Coyle's two (Mulgrew and Graham).

Sheer class.
-
So after all, you really are a bit of a closet Coyley fan !?!?
-
Grow up and be sensible.
-
Chaddy, I have friends who support other clubs such as Burnley, Bolton, Preston etc. Matters not one iota to me. Some maturity called for.
-
Staggering. If Mowbray's choice then one almighty clanger I think. 'Lack of upper body strength' - don't we have a gym and fitness specialists? 'Inability to hold the ball up or turn defenders' - if he aint got it now, it's doubtful he ever will. Why 'waste' £7million? If not Mowbray's choice then, IMV, he simply is not running our football club. The £7million Rovers have committed could have been used much better to strengthen the team by bringing in players who would make an immediate impact.

Think Cook is a very good manager as his track record proves and I would take him over Mowbray any day of the week. Wigan will be well organised and know exactly what their game plan is. Mowbray needs to be big, bold and brave. Just feckin go for it right from the start and let the opposition worry about us for a change. Graham and Brereton up front for me. IF Mowbray is big, bold and brave then it's a Rovers' win.
-
Chaddy, you should be more open minded and less blinkered! Coyley did well at St Johnstone, Burnley and initially at Bolton - since his second season at Bolton it's all gone very wrong for him. Keep telling you, betting on Rovers is for fun only - winnings are a bonus and losses are covered many times over from Sports Trading. I'd get you a cracking return on your money, it's part of my job!

We all have our different opinions. Think Mowbray's all round tack record with us is very mixed. Okay, he inherited a mess from Coyley but should still have kept us up. IMV, his tactics and negativity turned too many winning positions into draws and too many draws into losses. Think tactically, he tries to be too clever, maybe thinking he's a 'Pep' - in reality, I think tactically he's all over the place and suffers badly from square pegs in round holes syndrome. Brought us back at first attempt but we were the best resourced club in an absolute p i s s poor Div 1 and it would have been a huge failure if he hadn't. Transfer dealings again mixed. Obviously, Dack is the diamond signing but too many Harts, Gladwins and Joe Averages. The Brereton deal looks one almighty clanger to me. Said it before, I think Mowbray is a steady Eddie at best and not the man to return us to the promised land.
-
Looking forward to this one as much as a visit to the dentist! No doubt Tony will have us fired up and ready to go. 2-1 to Rovers.

Find Lowe so uninspiring. Any coach can work hard one on one but if it's the blind leading the blind...................... Suspect these two aren't strong enough or bright enough to give Mowbray the type of feedback he needs. Always remember McClaren one match at Ewood when he was Fergie's number 2. He put a pre match session on that was electric, made you sit up and take notice, and you could seen the way the United players responded. Sadly, I think we look very amateurish and uninspiring in comparison.
