  1. and therein may lie another problem - what credible manager/head coach with some track record would want to work with Gestede and Owen who clearly are now so influential despite their lack of a credible track record and any evidence of success? Would you work for a muppet? When Brum appointed Rooney, I read a couple of reports stating Rooney would be on £1.5m which dwarfed Eustace's £450k. I would think Eustace would be in the £500k to £600k range with Rovers.
  2. I read a report a few months ago which stated the average salary for a Championship manager/head coach 3 years ago was £800,000! Your manager/head coach makes or breaks a club and when you have underperforming players, or players simply not up to scratch, earning significantly more than the manager/head coach therein lies an issue. In an earlier post, I advocated making a relatively 'stellar' appointment on a 3 month contract for £300k with a £1million promotion bonus in order to try and reach the promised land because let's face it, I think the club is fecked if we don't get up this season. IMO, all the evidence just doubly underlines how useless and incompetent Waggott, Suhail and Gestede are.
  3. Epitomises just why the club is a shambles. Just can't see what Owen has achieved in his career as either a player or coach. In 20 years in a 'coaching' capacity he's had almost as many clubs as in a full golf set - think it tells you all you need to know!!!
  4. You are a naive eternal optimist. I think our club is a complete shambles run by an incompetent executive management, the likes of which I have rarely come across and I've seen some dross! Can you not see this?
  5. What's happened today is no surprise to me. The buck stops with Lowe. Diabolical selections. Think the guy is lucky still to be at the club - always thought he was an uninspirational figure with little about him. He is no Tony Parkes - Tony has forgotten more about football than Lowe ever knew. There is a reason why Eustace seemingly sidelined Lowe. No surprises from the players - IMO, the performance merely confirms - Pears is a liability, there are reasons Brum binned Sanderson, Forshaw should be playing at Pleasington and as for Weimann, Hedges and Dolan, words continue to fail me. Buckley has been half decent recently and Kargbo has shown he is capable of ripping it up, yet don't start! As for Dennis what a waste of a huge wage - one can only assume he's very rusty having played so little football so why the feck sign him~?1 Looks like we are about to spurn another glorious opportunity to get out of this league. Waggott, Pasha, Gestede, I think you are utterly incompetent disgraces and Jack Walker wouldn't have given you the time of day.
  6. Think Karanka would be a disaster for Rovers - there can be few worse appointments we could have made. I think he is a 'disruptor' whose teams don't play good football (think back to his time with Middlesbrough). If the stuff about Karanka celebrating at The Savoy with family and agent is correct then it would be no surprise to me as, IMO, he would be one lucky person to have landed a job like ours given his managerial track record over recent years and subsequent managerial career decline. I bet he can't believe his luck.
  7. Then you must live in a surreal unfettered world!!!!
  8. No I am not surprised, however, it's how I feel as no doubt many, many more feel.
  9. Total despair. If interviews have already taken place and there are now 'second round' interviews then 6 is not a short list!!! As I've already posted, as have others, I think the recruitment process is one total dysfunctional mess. The club have seemingly known about the Eustace issues for weeks - the homework and contingency planning should have already been done and there should have been 3 clear targets plus any unforeseen quality candidate who made it known he wanted the job (though given how Rovers are likely to be perceived in the football world unlikely to be any unforeseen quality candidate(s)). Smart and sharp executive management would have had a replacement appointed by the Plymouth game. Win or draw on Saturday and it would be no surprise to see Lowe appointed until the end of the season and I would suspect we would then fall away (coaching and managing a team for some 15 matches is totally different than holding the fort for a couple of games) and we would be back to square one at the season end with any semblance of planning for next season (contract renewals, player trading etc) totally buggered. What a total and abysmal mess.
  10. Your thoughts are right. Though doesn't need to be a 'big name' but rather a person with a proven track record of success and only needs a contract through to 31 May. A £300k fixed term contract with a £1million bonus if promoted. What credible out of work managers with a track record of some success would turn their nose up at that - they would absolutely have nothing to lose.
  11. What an utter shambles. Think it's clear the club is a basket case. Unless by some miracle we get promoted this year, one really fears for our future next season and beyond. Any decent prospective appointee will no doubt have been in touch with messrs Eustace and Tomasson - oh to have listened to those conversations!!! Bring on the desperados.
  12. I think our exec management is so dysfunctional - 'officially' they have known for almost 2 weeks Eustace was offski, 'unofficially' they've known for much longer given the different jobs we understand Eustace applied for (I was told by a journalist at weekend Eustace even applied for the Plymouth job and given the 'source', it's very, very likely to be correct). Therefore, where the feck is the planning? Barring an exceptional unforeseen candidate making himself available, Rovers surely would have had 3 prime targets? As for interviews - yes they help but it's where the bullsh1t merchants thrive. I would be more interested in what a candidate has already tangibly done and achieved. If I'd hired all the bullshit merchants I came across in my working career then I would have been a billionaire and able to buy Rovers myself!
  13. This is feckin unbelievable. Process smacks of cluelessness. Smart operators would have had this done and dusted before the Plymouth game.
  14. We don't cover ourselves in glory the way we deal with personnel. Think our name will be mud in the football world. This is shoddy irrespective of Sigurdsson's record with Rovers. Not sure whether the lad had the right mentality but in fairness to him, he never got opportunity in the 10 role which would have been ideal for him to showcase his strengths (technically good and a very good finisher). Lacked pace, physicality and stamina for the wide role where we played him. Had the quality the likes of Dolan and Hedges don't and a shame we will never know how good he might have been for us in a 10 role.
  15. I think it's clear there had been issues with Eustace for some time and surely Waggott and Gestede saw the writing on the wall. All this seemingly p1ssing about interviewing the likes of Boateng, Boa Morte etc (if correct) smacks of just how dysfunctional our executive management is. There should have been a clear plan to execute a new Head Coach and barring an unforeseen stellar application, we should have had a new man in place before the Plymouth game. Talking about Plymouth, I was told at weekend Eustace had even applied for the Plymouth job when Rooney left - if this is correct, it shows, IMO, just how desperate Eustace was to get out of our mad house and knocks on the head all this closer to family business.
  16. Think there's no doubt he would be an utter disaster. IMO, an intransigent coach who is a legend in his own mind only and so in love with himself. Think he was really lucky to land the Southampton post on the back of a very average track record and his management of them in the PL proved disastrous. Would rather have Coyley than Martin and that says it all.
  17. Think our new Head Coach will have links to at least one of Waggott, Gestede and Owen. For that reason, I think it will be one of Karanka (please no, dull and boring football). Boateng (shouldn't be even mentioned but with our circus clowns) or Wicky (the least unpalatable of the 3 but wouldn't be my choice). We are in the laps of the footballing gods - hold your breath and lower your expectations!
  18. Didn't see that coming! Delighted even though my bets on match went down. Gueye immense - has to keep improving, confidence must be rocketing. How we missed Travis whilst he was out injured - player of season so far. DO NOT give it to Lowe until end of season (though credit to the staff for tonight) - he is not the answer and no Tony Parkes. Have I not missed Mowbray pacing up and down with hands in pockets looking utterly lost! Can't stand Mowbray and Venus.
  19. Not a lot! Personification of Mr Average who has achieved very little as a manager. We can and MUST do better
  20. This is the ultimate licence to print money game. We are in disarray and morale must be on the floor. You can get evens, or close to, on WBA win and 2/1 on Armstrong to score anytime. Fill yer boots!
  21. Eustace's position at Rovers in now untenable should his Derby move stall (though highly, highly unlikely). Therefore staggered Rovers have made no announcement as to who will take the team tomorrow night unless it's the new Head Coach! Just further underlines, IMO, how incompetent and shambolic we are.
  22. That is so unkind to Mickey Mouse and a terrible disservice!!!! Sadly, IMO, the club is owned and run by a set of 5 star uncaring incompetents who deal in hypocrisy and deceit.
  23. Our season is done - we will slide down the league whoever is appointed. We are about to see just what feckin miracles Eustace performed with bang average players. Cooper, no chance - there'll me much better opportunities for him. Edwards - why? Bottled it at Luton when the going got tough. TBH, I no longer give a feck. IMO, we are absolutely rotten to the core and how any supporter can continue putting his/her money into Rovers' coffers to perpetuate this total sh1t show is beyond me.
  24. and I'm having dinner with Taylor Swift tonight! FFS Chaddy wake-up and smell the coffee!
  25. Simply cut to the chase and, IMO, it's clear our club is one huge pile of steaming horse manure. Eustace is gone. Made it clear what he wanted before the Jan. Window opened and just look what the feck he got. Our next manager/coach will be a desperado - doubt anyone with quality and an ounce of nous will touch us now. Think the degree to which we have been fecked as a club has been ratcheting up steadily and the abyss we have been staring into for years will soon be upon us.
