  1. Past hour
  2. I did point out in DM's recently that Balaji could be the main problem. Madame and third wheel might have an active desire to sell with him being the one preventing it. Back when there was a link to Qatari ownership in 2011 it was rumoured Balaji was the only thing blocking it. Of course at the time I attempted to instigate a mass protest and got no help in return.
  3. In the 150th celebration planning meetings (๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚) there was initially loads of talk about a series of murals around the town. There was a lot of positivity from fans, Jamie Holman, Waggott, and the Community Trust. Loads of locations were discussed and some gable ends offered. Phil Reilly put his usual dampener on things a bit, but it seemed like it would genuinely happen. By the time of the last meeting it had been downgraded to one mural on the side of the Watson Ramsbottom building in town. Yasir was very pleased with himself for securing the services of whoever did the Bielsa mural in Leeds. I asked, not unreasonably I donโ€™t think, what the subject of the mural would be. I was condescendingly told that โ€œwe canโ€™t interfere with the artistic process, itโ€™s up to themโ€. Anyway, to the surprise of nobody, absolutely nothing has come of it.
  4. Perfectly would be how Alebiosu came in when Brittain departed, Litherland has done well, but to say he has slotted in perfectly is hyperbolic If we were to develop him as Millers competition/understudy, then yes, by all means develop him here. But the impending recall of O'Riordan suggests if he remains here for the rest of the season, he is going to be used either as a square peg in a round hole, or not at all. In which case, both he and Rovers would benefit more from him going on loan to a club who play with a back 3 and him playing week in, week out as a right sided centre back
  5. That has to be a bot. It reads like it was written by someone who doesn't speak English as a first language and clearly doesn't know anything about football. What time UK was ot posted?
  6. Arthur Connolly - Sweet Soul Music
  7. Fair play, I stand corrected on that He did great at right wing back and he slotted perfectly into that role, He understand that role clearly just by performances. He could have a 2 goals against Millwall. Forget the loan for me, keep him here and lets develop him here. Haha, your negative comments about young players is constant with you, you never want to allow them to develop and always very quick to mention their flaws instead of positives I suggested either Pickering or Ribeiro with the other one, staying and rotating with Hedges and if one is injured Powell can back that up. just more excuses again and again to suit your overall viewpoint
  8. Their departure cant come quick enough..that I do know.
  9. Brandon Thomas-Asante started as a wide role at Salford before moving into a central role and now he is playing up front/number 10/wide role at Coventry under Lampard. So this guy could be the same. I would have like BTA here when he was at Salford
  10. We have made a bid for him as reported by Alan Nixon this morning
  11. Kiki Dee - Iโ€™ve Got The Music In Me
  12. What's is it like in Jack kitchen? what food on offer?
  13. Its Venky Rovers, it doesn't have to make sense to be true Something that is definitely true is that Rovers make their transfer and selection decisions based on data, and it is irrelevant as to if someone has played in that position previously See Ismael's rationale for playing Litherland at right wing back, or various summer signings who were obviously bought purely because data said they could press/win the ball high up the field (Henriksson) were fast (De Neve) etc
  14. Rovers 1 - 2 Wrexham. Cantwell penalty. Predicted team: Pears Miller McLoughlin Pratt Litherland Tronstad TGH Hedges Cantwell Ohashi Henriksson Lots of effort, not nearly enough quality.
  15. Ignoring the fact we won't be signing him, nor do we play with wingers - Clearey has had 6 months of OK form. Not what we need
  16. Nothing about this makes sense. Why are we even trying to sign a winger when we dont play with wingers? It wont happen anyway, I think thats pretty clear.
  17. ah, the age old lowball offer for someone who has interest elsewhere "we did everything we could"
  18. The data suggesting either of those lumps could play football in general is the biggest flaw
  19. Finally some decent (I hope useful) info. I shall quote her in full so none of it is my fault if incorrect: โ€˜Hey Michael, more than happy to help. Admittedly all of my murals have been commissioned by councils so a lot of the sites have mostly been approved but I have a rough idea of procedure. Firstly, it's worth talking to the council regardless because they might know of some funding pots for national heritage funds and prosperity funds. Especially with it being the legacy of Rovers. Murals aren't cheap so the more funding assistance the better. They might also have council owned walls for your project. Owner's permission is a big must. Double check that buildings aren't listed or very close to a listed building. If so you'll have to go through a long drawn out planning permission process and it can take ages (personally from experience) It's worth getting planning permission in general though. It protects you from the keyboard warriors. Planning permission can involve a consultation phase, like letters of notice stuck to lampposts and letters to neighbouring homes that a large mural is going to be on site and then people have a chance to oppose it. Once you've jumped over that big hurdle, if people complain during or after the mural is done then... Tough! It's council approved! If you don't have planning permission, sod's law you'll get a Venkys revolt against the hard work, complain really loudly (on Facebook usually) and then the council will come and tell you no.โ€™ To her credit, she is not a football fan, and hates Venkys vicariously through me.
  20. Theres a lot of shoehorning going on. Pickering at wing back? Henriksson up front? Kargbo up front? Miller as a wing back? Litherland as wing back? Even McLaughlin in the middle of a back 3? Yeah, all of that is fine, no need to try and improve. To be fair this Cleary rumour screams of a typical transfer window one that grows legs but comes to nothing.
  21. I have not suggested that Pratt should be loaned out, youve made that up. I have been pretty clear that I wouldn't and that I would probably play him over McLaughlin as it stands on the left if we were to sign a centre back for the middle. On Litherland, I have praised him too but just dont think its good either for him or us to consider him the direct alternative to the far more attacking and dangerous Alebiosu for the rest of the season away from his natural position. It should be either a case of keeping hin as a centre back or failing that, a short term loan to allow him to develop like Wharton did physically in preperation to push him on ahead of next season. But if it is easier and needs you to make stuff up to justify, yes I am totally against developing young players. It seems to be a narrative you want to push to justify the inevitable inadequate recruitment about to come. For yourself, you seem to have a policy of lets make do that suits these owners down to the ground. I dont want he can do a job there, I actually want he can thrive there, I want to improve. Pickering is not a wing back, I am unsure what has changed from you repeatedly suggesting his sale up until a few days ago. Miller is really poor on the ball. Its all well and good him playing there for Australia against really weak countries, we have no idea if he actually does that job well for Australia. Playing at centre back is much more suitable for him.
  22. Today
  23. The data says he can ๐Ÿ˜‰ It also apparently said De Neve could play wing back and Tavares could play the Tronstad role, so there may be some flaws in the methodology
