  2. It's a linkedin profile that appears to have never been updated since it was created, barring one repost 3 years ago https://www.linkedin.com/in/beverley-phillips-784b627b/?originalSubdomain=uk Can't really use that as cast iron guarantee that someone is still doing what they were doing when they made a profile, if they seem to have never updated it in the first place
  3. How can selling decent Championship players with vast experience and replacing them with cheaper, unproven players be good news ? It is cost cutting which could turn out to be false economy once all the saleable playing assets are gone. The policy is driven by Pasha wanting to save money for his employers not by any ambition to build a decent team.
  4. It was TM, himself, who said that he told the owners he didn't want more money. I heard him say it!
  5. Believe from where? given her profile says she is still there according to her profile
  6. One of the issues with modern day football in my opinion and what's making it cumbersome to watch or enjoy. What is he even saying in that interview? I know we don't see him day in and day out, but would you run through brick walls for him? I'm getting the same way with Slot, he struck me as a bit arrogant last year at times, but he was being fawned over because it was all working. Two games in this season and he sounded like a right dick talking about Newcastle's approach being "not football". We all know the ultra Dutch way gets found out in this country.
  7. Personally, I thought at the time we were massively thin skinned when it came to that. He's obviously quite an emotional guy in a high-scrutiny job, and he ended up saying a handful of slightly ill-advised things when a microphone was shoved under his face after a loss. Agree that some of his errors were shockers. Bradley Johnson as a 10 sticks in the mind!
  8. I believe this lady has been finished too.
  9. Pretty much where my head went when news about Hyams contract offer started bubbling.
  10. It seems to be a lad from Accrington Stanley called Kasom Shah but I am not 100% as yet.
  11. I imagine that "middle point" is that a contract was offered, but on the same wage as he was already on
  12. Some people stating "we don't know the truth about Trav" and similarly people are talking about the player liaison officer stating "she's out of order for saying that". Essentially on a hiding to nothing because there's no universal way to approach it that would appease every single fan. My view on these matters are always the same. Whether you believe what VI has said or what Trav has stated at times (e.g. the lack of a contract offer). Both will have their own agenda for their own reasons, the truth is likely somewhere in the middle.
  13. I suspect you're right, but to be honest it's far too early to be making a call on that. It's undoubtedly a gamble, and not one I'm at all comfortable with. I would have kept Batth and Weimann, but being hard headed I can see the logic of standing your ground with contracts for players of their age. VI clearly wants an athletic, energetic team, so you shouldn't be held to ransom for players who don't even fit in with that (assuming that's what Different kettle of fish with Brittain, Travis and if rumours are to be believed, Hyam. Gambling on their replacements and getting it wrong could easily be the difference between a comfortable season and one where we end up going down.
  14. Personally think it’s getting stupid, if they know something us fans don’t know then say it, instead of the cryptic bullshit causing more unrest between the fan base.
  15. That's why you NEED a good goalkeeper.
  16. He has been honest and told it like it was,, that he wasn't rocking a perfectly comfortable boat floating steadily after he plugged many leaks. So he's basically confirmed he was under no pressure nor expectation from above to do anything else therefore he was doing his job to the best of his ability. Just the same as he had anywhere else and would've done had he stayed at Sunderland or Brum. I doubt very much they'd be in the Prem if he stayed there and at the same time Brum would never have gone to league 1 briefly. He is the ultimate steady Eddie and that comes with both pros and cons. Some Rovers fans though still can't handle the fact he was happy going nowhere and saw no harm in it for a club like us, even when he goes on a podcast confirming it.
  17. This is why I'll never get carried away under this lot. Even if Ismael pulls off a minor miracle with our new cohort and we're in and around the top six come the new year, it means nothing. We will never get promoted under Venky's - they and Pasha will see to that. Just as they have done on multiple occasions already.
  18. He's also taking credit for Adam Whartons debut on Big Sams podcast.
  19. I think it was 'tanker' and he's ultimately proven to be right. Granted we've had anchors like him weighing us down.
  20. I've got no problem with a Manager being about the players / his staff (heaven knows Eustace was!), just don't verbalise it! The fans will turn on you in a second.
  21. To be fair all those you have named bar Lenihan went on to play in the top flight, something they wouldn't have done if they hung around here for any longer. Think it's a bit of a myth that nobody ever achieves anything when leaving here, playing in the top flight is more than this sorry effort of a club will ever do.
  22. Yes but I wouldn't call out the workplace, i'd call out the senior management.
  23. We've been down this delusional track before. Remember when Mowbray was here? People convincing themselves we were building sustainably, following a plan, working normally. Then we had the Broughton / JDT experiment and that was another occasion of us acting normally and putting in place a structure that would take us somewhere and last. They made sure that lasted all of 12 months before they smashed it to smithereens. We completely changed track under Eustace to a traditional model of bringing in short term relatively cheap options and relying on our established players, we made sure that was abandoned after 8 months by appointing Gestede over the top of him and refusing to extend any contracts. Now we are on to experiment 4 in the space of 4 years. Might work, probably won't because even if it goes well the ownership/regime will either introduce further budget cuts or remove those overseeing it and go down a different path again in the near future. It isn't normal, it isn't healthy, it isn't sustainable. The only thing it is doing is (in theory) cutting losses every year whilst the club is being hollowed out from within with good people being forced out and replaced with nonentities who don't understand the club. On the topic of cost cuts despite all the evidence pointing that way I still wouldn't be surprised to see losses exceed £15 million again, that's the one constant here under Venkys.
