  1. Past hour
  2. The key is going to be getting players around Gudjohnssen if he is playing the hold up man role, whilst I think Cantwell has improved his performances considerably so far he spends a lot of time in deeper positions so unlikely to be immediately around Gudjohnssen. Same goes for the two wide players in Hedges and Kargbo, Hedges drifts in and plays in the 10 more than Kargbo for sure but he's not a natural finisher. Kargbo looks to get behind but again we need someone off Gudjohnssen to play the up-back and through ball to an on rushing Kargbo. Can only hope that Morishita is good at playing off a target man.
  3. Brilliant! Are you Thomas Hardy in disguise?
  4. I like them to put the ball in the net. Especially when we only play with one.
  5. Agree we need him or someone else experienced as a number 2. He's had a few good games but wouldn't call him a match savers. Walton was auspect, he was awful. And if you look at his career since after a short stint upwards its been massively downhill. Not good enough. Like most of Rovers decisions we are playing with fire not utilising an experienced number 2. At least the number 1 isn't pears which is a small mercy.
  6. Modern football is allergic to two strikers but A 4 4 2 Played narrow fits for Toth Abileiusu - McLaughlin - Whoever is fit - Ribiero New loanee - Tronstad Cantwell - Morashita Gudjohnsen - Ohashi With options to add width in an inconsistent Hedges and a one trick pony Kargbo
  7. Do we suspect he has a lack of self awareness?
  8. I like my CFs to be able to hold the ball up (especially in any variety of formation where they're the tip of the spear). Gudjohnsen is 6'2", clearly has good body control and wins balls in the air. The ball always comes straight back when Ohashi is up front. If he's not scoring he's not contributing anything to the side imo. e.g. against Norwich they were pressing our wingers and daring us to play a long ball to Ohashi because they knew what the outcome would be.
  9. It was ever thus. Some are genuinely just very optimistic people. Some just like to wind people up. Some swing between optimism and pessimism depending on which way the wind blows. Regardless of the reason, it only becomes a problem when the personal digs or attempts at thread moderation begin.
  10. Thanks We’ll get some more up to date figures (both wages and turnover) when Venkys London’s accounts are published later this year*. * Last year these were submitted in November.
  11. What makes you think this? His goal return (and reviews) are very poor considering he's playing for the best team in the league.
  12. He looks like a Carter / Hill RB to me i.e. he's athletic enough to play it, but he's not a natural FB.
  13. If Pears has any confidence in himself, and the hierarchy truly want him gone, then mutual termination might be best for him and the club. I suppose it depends on whether the club think they can eventually get a fee for him either in January or next summer that recoups the wages lost paying a player who they have no intention of putting on the pitch. The sensible option would be to reintegrate him as second choice, obviously, as he's not going anywhere until January at the earliest and the only other goalkeeper at the club with proper senior experience.
  14. The last three games I have seen, Hedges has played well. I would not judge Gudjohnsen until he has played for us.
  15. Everyone has a right to have an equal say and all views welcome on the message board etc. Having said that, I can't help but think there is some unusual behaviour on the message board recently. Some new accounts with extremely optimistic outlooks on our shite performances and shite transfer dealings. Some other accounts which have been around a while which have occasionally gone on a flurry of just down voting criticisms of the club are back and active too. Wonder if they belong to people at the club who just want some feedback for their podcast? πŸ€”
  16. So beyond all the bonkers - who's playing RB and CB if we get injuries? I assume now that Carter and McLoughlin are the preferred starters at CB. Is Miller the immediate backup to Carter and Wharton to McLoughlin? Who plays RB if Carter and Alebiosu pick up a knock? Gardner-Hickman? We've already seen Montgomery can't play there.
  17. We genuinely don't have enough CBs on the books to play 3 at the back (consistently).
  18. Hedges still starting games is criminal. I'd also expect Gudjohnsen to quickly displace Ohashi - he'll offer far more upfront.
  19. Miller looks like a walking red card to me
  20. Is this a transfer (failed window thread) or something else start a new thread with all that talk
  21. That might explain Tavares' performance on Saturday.
  22. Transfer window has been shut less that 24 hours 🀣
  23. Let's not even go there....Bigger chickens to fry-surely!
  24. Yeah I can take throwing millions of chicks into industrial grinders, suffocating squealing pigs in co2 and tearing newborn calves from their mothers, but throat slitting is just cruel.
  25. My first thought is that with hyam gone we may revert to a back 3/5. Utilising miller and Pickering as potential wide cbs. Something like this Carter. Wharton Mcloughlin Abeliosu. Ribiero Miller. Atcheson. Pickering Gardner-hickman. De neve
