  1. Past hour
  2. Agreed. Fine as a back up. Nowhere near good enough to be a number 1.
  3. So, it's chants of "Snake" and "One greedy bastard", when they come for the anniversary game?
  4. Two things Iโ€™ve liked about VI has been his reactions to Brittainโ€™s and Travisโ€™s self-serving toy-throwing. Like JDT, he comes across as someone you canโ€™t fuck around with. Both of them intense, fit as fleas, played for clubs Trav canโ€™t even dream of. His managerial career also reminds me of Souness, ie extremely checkered before landing here. Iโ€™m hoping itโ€™s another case of right man, right time. As you say, letโ€™s find out. And if the place is so toxic, why was 20-year Bucko sobbing his heart out? I canโ€™t imagine the new signings are giving any thought to how Trav felt: theyโ€™d never heard of him, heโ€™s won nowt, move on old man, Iโ€™m having your shirt.
  5. Thatโ€™s something which annoys me, a ref not playing injury time because a team is getting a pasting.
  6. Clearly he didn't as he didn't press the owners for investment when promotion was a possibility. There's no other way you can sugar coat that. Any other manager would want the best squad or X1 humanly possible at his disposal. It was his job to win football matches not manage the finances and finish 15th every other season.
  7. I agree, however JDT openly gave up and continued to play the same football with players not up to it. At least Eustace made us harder to beat. You understand that you can offer someone a contract but not enough for them to want to sign it, right? Then spin that thought around, we might want to keep Lewis Travis but we might also think heโ€™s not worth 20k a week.
  8. On the contrary, that's one of the best posts I've read that exactly mirrors my thoughts. Hats off to you, sir. ๐Ÿ‘ As a lowly supporter, and as I've grown older, I've started to worry less about what I can't control. I can't control who owns Rovers. I can't control who plays for us. I can't control who leaves, nor why they leave. I follow Rovers to enjoy football, and no matter what is going on around the club when it isn't match-day, I still thoroughly enjoy match days. This will sound contradictory given that I'm sitting here bang in between two Rovers match days writing this, but I often wonder if I'm the only one who finds following Rovers much more enjoyable when I don't digest the drama off the pitch, true or otherwise, and stick primarily to match days and a few beers.
  9. I expect absolutely fuck all under Venkys.
  10. He was worth keeping, I agree but I'm not bothered he's left either. I just don't care. I do t care if any of them leave. The only one I can think of that hurt in recent memory is Adam Wharton. Rest, couldn't give a shite.
  11. The old fresh start syndrome is a big issue in child protection, where practitioners fail to see repeated patterns of neglect and harm, as they merely buy into a dangerous optimism...
  12. No it's not - that's the road to nowhere.
  13. No and yes.
  14. Not quite, they think they are replaceable cheaper. I agree with many of your other points, there is a argument to be had that these players have had their chance and not taken it I agree. I think its a loser's mentality which has pervaded the Club for many years rather than the individual players. Big Sam - target certain games and forget others. Just do enough Bowyer - Arm round the shoulder - development is the main thing not the results Lambert - Im only here to get my career back on track You can sell Rhodes if you like I couldn't care less. Coyle - Let's have a game of ping pong Mowbray - promotion? No thanks - Im only here to top up my pension fund and look after the players who are already here. For me there's only JDT and Eustace who have ever shown any ambition. VI - we'll have to wait and see but the fact he's willing to go along with RG's scheme doesn't fill me with any confidence.
  15. Maybe if the board didn't keep undermining him he'd have succeeded - best chance we had in years and we made amateur mistakes on deadline day two years running and sold his best player for half his market value whilst reinvesting none of it.
  16. Frankly, that is distinctly underwhelming and vague and hardly new.
  17. This is where we disagree. Yeah he's not achieved anything but neither have any of the squad. If all the EFL moved on players who didn't contribute to milestones or trophy wins you'd have full squad turnover year on year. He was one of our best players, well loved and was a great captain. If you disagree with that fair enough but I absolutely think he was worth retaining.
  18. It's a new team another new era. Success will be Ismaรซl still being here in three years and his team and results constantly improving.
  19. JDT had a plan as did JE. Achieved nothing? Right. And did it with hands tied behind backs? Expect miracles then with this new plan.
  20. Likeable managers but very streaky and inconsistent which cost us in the end. 7th or 21st... Still achieved nothing. No prizes for losers. I'm not convinced about this fella but fuck it, he/they've got a plan... Let's find out how good or bad it is.
  21. Club bruges are a bigger club than rangers or celtic
  22. Where has this suggestion that he wanted ยฃ30k come from?
  23. Re the clearing of the old guard (who now appear to have been an impediment to success), will the agents be next?
