  1. Past hour
  2. I would be fine with that and if they don’t want to travel up they can forfeit the result. It happens in Spain I was told at the ground by someone but they could be talking nonsense. As others have said there is no precedent here so will just be a full replay and we get shafted.

  4. We’re not necessarily disagreeing on today’s abandonment. I can see both sides of the argument. It’s your claim that the pitch against Portsmouth was “much worse”.
  5. When he went to bounce it and it just went splat I was pissing myself ha
  6. IMO we need to move on from what happened and just accept that the game couldn't continue, it had become a farce, neither team could pass the ball 5 yards. (I know 20 years ago the game would have continued and in our hearts we wish it had, but we know modern football has changed for better or for worse and that these days they do not play in these conditions). There is no way there will be any other decision from the authorities other than a full replay, there is no precedent for anything other than a full replay where a game is abandoned due to weather. What I think people should be more angry about, is the fact our ground is in such poor repair that we cannot host football matches if there is heavy rain. This isn't a one-off, no other local clubs in the top 3 divisions have this issue, but it is happening often at Ewood Park. Why? Because our owners do not care about running the club properly, so we have outdated drainage that relies on a tiny river behind the ground not being affected by... rain. It's item number #588 to add to the list of ways in which the owners have mismanaged and ruined this club.
  7. With 10 mins to go with Rovers winning the game 1-0 and Ipswich down to 10 men. You would think common sense would hand us the win surely.
  8. Just watched an alternate angle of the ref coming out to attempt to roll/bounce the ball, and yes it was grim. But the tit picked literally the worst part of the entire pitch 🤔
  9. Conway scored that goal.. We have to disagree cos the game gone so far and should have complete. That's my view. We probably have to play them again when they are in good form and we got a couple of injuries
  10. My partner was down from Glasgow so we decided to go on, sod's law. Thought we were playing very well and didn't consider an abandonment until she asked me if it had happened before... then I started to notice every slowing down of the ball. Miserable walk off but at least another promising performance IMO. Going to be tragic to have to replay when that decision inevitably lands. Now in a hotel with many Ipswich fans thinking the opposite haha
  11. The referee will cite player safety for which he has a duty of care. As much as I'm frustrated it would be difficult to argue against. And if the boot was on the other foot we would be delighted.
  12. I'd love the rule to be that the game restarts at the point it was abandoned but there are practical difficulties. What if a player who was playing in the original game is injured or, if played after the January window (e.g. if the original game being played was in December), who replaces that player. Or a player is now suspended. Does he play in the replayed game restart and serve his suspension in another game? Or is he suspended from the replayed game and therefore his suspension only lasts 11 mins plus stoppage time? Reality is, much as we might not like it in this instance, the likely outcome of the game being replayed is not unreasonable. Interestingly there has been a precedent this year of the losing team (Wealdstone?) agreeing that the result should stand but this was when they were deep into stoppage time and a couple of goals down. The match was abandoned due to a serious injury IIRC. No way Ipswich would agree at one down with 10+ mins to go! And we wouldn't either!!
  13. Performance wise I was very pleasantly surprised, albeit I thought Ipswich were well below what I was expecting. Tronstad and Hickman had a relatively easy day IMO. Pitch wise the minute the ball stuck giving Kargbo change to pounce it was game over, they can’t allow the weather to impact the result in such an obvious way. It’ll no doubt be replayed in full with 11 v 11, the player will serve his ban starting tomorrow and we’ll get no benefit from the man advantage in the replay. It’ll likely be played during our post Jan injury slump and we’ll get beat. Sods bloody law
  14. Not allowed till the efl decide the outcome
  15. Nothing on website either just all come to an abrupt stop. I think they are deciding whether we get the W or not.
  16. Neither club are doing any post-match or any statements because the game has to be referred to a panel to decide what happens about the result. Neither club wants to be seen to be trying to influence the panel so neither club will be making comments on what happened. (I got that from Radio Lancs earlier)
  17. All that being said our pitch looks superb. Just need to sort the drainage
  18. Bit strange there's been no post match comments from VI as yet ?
  19. Have to disagree with you here. Regardless of what minute it was, the pitch was preventing football being played. I've watched that video you posted and although there's clearly water on the pitch, the ball was still rolling, even when being carried by whoever it was who scored our 3rd. Multiple times today, that wasn't the case. I'm as frustrated as you are that we were close to taking a win from a probable promotion contender, but taking away any bias, it was (sadly) the right decision.
  20. You can't really think that's an option surely? Travel from Ipswich to play 10 minutes of football, with 10 men? It won't be the FA whi decide either will it, surely its the EFL?
  21. How would that be fair? There were still 10 minutes plus injury time left. The fair solution would be to play the last chunk of the game with the man advantage. But I am sure it will be a full replay. Not because the FA want to "fuck us over" but it seems to be precedent.
  22. Chaddy, you’ve posted the Portsmouth game and the last two highlights are in the 87th and 90th minutes and the ball is rolling better than it was today. Everyone can see that. But in your typical obstinate fashion you refuse to change your opinion and insist it was ‘worse’ than today.
