I don’t know what the rules are with the ball needing to be rolling. I remember Conway chipping one in late on years ago on a worse rain-sodden pitch than that. Today he pulled them off the first time the ball really stuck. I suspect he thought it was going to get worse and that it was an easier decision at 79 minutes than had it become farcical at 87 minutes.

There's a first time for everything. Set a precedent. I can't think of many so late with a team so dominant (goal up and man up). Can vaguely remember some for snow, after 20 mins odd. 0-0. Even at 1-0 after 20 mins there so much time to go and so much that can happen. Just think this one would be ridiculous to replay. And that's not even with bias. Would think the same if Burnley v someone, albeit whilst chuckling.

If we have to play the full game, every rovers player gets to slap mckenna's face on the way out of the tunnel. That's a fair exchange

The reff stopped the game when the ball completely stopped in a puddle of water. I can see why he did it. But then i have seen matches (including at Ewood in recent years) where they just keep going.

As far as I can see you have to go down to Rochdale in the National League to find another game suspended/postponed, so was the weather around Ewood just locally apocalyptic compared to the rest of the country, or is Ewood just so poorly maintained that we're at National League level?

Gobsmacked. Just finish the game ref! This is just totally unfair and we should be on the blower to the FA demanding a win or a replay that lasts 10 mins (we probably don’t care and see it as a chance to make more money from beer sales at the replay). Then again it’s at our own ground and there are no other suspensions locally or at any league club so the club have to take responsibility. Again it’s the fans who suffer and don’t deserve it.

I guess a key factor will be if any other north west / Yorkshire clubs with 3pm kickoffs have their games called off... If its just us it looks really bad.

That would be the fairest solution. Would have to be at our expense obviously.
