  1. Past hour
  2. From the player's perspective it would be an odd and risky move to agree to a permanent offer to move in the hope of moving again in the summer.
  3. The frustration was there for all to see. Been there, done that. He’s probably tired of seeing all the players that they were building a good team around being sold off. He’ll be the first one out of the club in Summer.
  4. This is exactly what I believe to be happening. One can argue whether or not that is truly deliberate but I don't think it matters. As Mark is so keen on pointing out, sporting performance is not the priority here. Reducing overheads supercedes everything, which sadly includes hiring a no mark like Ismail and keeping him in the role despite atrocious performance.
  5. BTBH had Danny Graham and Charlie Mulgrew and guaranteed goals
  6. Presume looking at that line up that Tyjon is playing as the out and out striker?
  7. I'm not sure about that. Play at a higher level for a few months to show he can do it at this level and then it would be probably be sold to him that he can make a better move to a more ambitious club in the summer, plus i'm guessing even 2026 Venky Rovers can give him a better salary than he's currently on at Barnsley.
  8. I'm thought you were asking about the suggestion that Cashin had to play because Brighton were subbing most if not all his wages. That came from the people who normally share the transfer rumours. Apologies if Ive got my wires crossed.
  9. Jerry Lee Lewis - Fools Like Me
  10. That came from Norway, and I don't believe it or disbelieve it, I'd much rather we got him for free. I'm simply asking the question where it came from ?
  11. Venkys: "We don't want to (or can't) sell - so trim costs further, if it means we slip a league again, no hassle. Just get the wage bill down as low as possible and ensure further investment is at an absolute minimum." Pasha: "Understood"
  12. Wow, what's the bid today, £1.6m plus a £3.4m add on if he hits 300 international caps? (Not having a go at you sorry. The LT shouldn't be encouraging this nonsense either) Lashings of humble pie at the ready if Im wrong.
  13. I know what you mean, it looks to me having watched him the grand total of once, that they see Jorgensen on the right, Cleary on the left and Gudjonson middle, with Ohashi wherever. It would appear to be a plan, who knows ?
  14. Cleary would be mad to come here given the sh*t show we are on and off the pitch - even if we did agree a fee.
  15. Yep I think so. Jorgensen and Cleary either side of Gudjohnsen would suggest going to a 4231 or if they want to keep 3 at the back a 343. Not that it's going to happen though.
  16. Actions speak louder than words and their actions suggest you are entirely correct. If this was the first time they had been down this road you might be able to forgive it and give them the benefit of the doubt - misguided, badly advised, not understanding the nature of the beast of the Championship and the inevitable consequence of radical cost cuts. But they've done it all before, so unless they all have complete amnesia they will remember what happens when you do this. Yet they carry on with it.
  17. You would assume there's been encouragement from the player that he would come here if a fee can be agreed, otherwise why push ahead with another offer. Then again, we're not a normal club. But I don't expect us to agree a fee anyway and, even if we do, someone else will match it and he'll choose them over us.
  18. You've asked the same question before and I answered it at the time. From the same people who provide the transfer rumours normally. You seem quite happy to believe them when it suits, for example if it's reported we've spent £3m on a player.
  19. These days, when clubs and managers talk about a “striker”, do they just mean anyone who can play anywhere across the front line, whatever the system? It feels like that must be what they mean now, because Cleary isn’t someone I’d describe as a striker, neither is Jorgensen. The term seems to have drifted from “proper number 9” to “forward” and it makes it hard to know what role they’re actually recruiting for.
  20. Don't think it's any doubt that our interest is true. They won't get it over the line though because they won't pay what Barnsley want.
  21. Hard to argue against that isn't it when you consider what they did to Eustace and the experienced players, failing to give them any assurances on their futures and replacing them with Ismael and assorted Eurotrash. The vast majority of us knew how it would turn out and so it's proving.
  22. U21s team for this afternoons game with Birmingham Of the starting 11, only Vare (who has been named on the first team bench) & Houghton have never featured for our first team, which may be some sort of record for us? There is also a game v Preston tomorrow afternoon which will probably see a younger team
  23. Two of our lads in Talent Hunter Team of the week. I thought the lad Schaper had moved to Chelsea? Obviously still here
  24. Personally I think that's a bit harsh. I don't mind nipping over to the other forum to discuss the pro's and cons of anything or anyone doing the same over here as long as any live debate takes place in a reasonably respectful manner.
  25. Jackson reckons we are pressing ahead with our interest in Cleary at Barnsley. Let's hope this one is actually true!
  26. That's it in a nutshell isn't it. Not going to call anyone "clappers" or anything like that but some supporters actually seem to be citing the fact that only 6.5 k home fans turned up is some sort of failure on behalf of the protest organisers! As if home crowds of that level are acceptable in general! It's beyond bizarre. Anyhow, Im eager to hear what the next protest initiative will be and if it involves turning up at a match Im in. Really, different sorts of protest should already have been organised for each of the next two home games. The pressure needs to be kept up now and constant imo.
