nicko Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 From the Leicester paper tonight - although you knew this last week. Leicester City have completed the loan signing of Danish forward Adda Djeziri, as revealed in later editions of yesterday's Mercury. The 18-year-old joined from Danish side BK Frem until the end of the year. Djeziri spent the end of last season on loan at Rangers and trained with Blackburn in the summer. Interesting to see how he does - and also interesting that Milan Mandaric can sign another player without the need of a manager.

nicko Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Sounds like Danny boy's scratching about for money as well.................. Do you know something? If so, share.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I have thought that too. I saw Dave Whelan walking into Ewood about an hour before kick off outside the club shop before the City game, so if there were truth in that I wouldn't be surprised
Billy Castell Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Does Whelan still have the masses of money to lob our way to push us on to compete in the transfer market with the likes of spuds and A-hole?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 He sold JJB for 190m, although some of it is probably tied up in other investments. I think he could afford us if he wanted to.
Billy Castell Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 And the odd £10m transfer? I guess you don't become that rich without a good business brain, and he could have a good go at running Rovers well.
nicko Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Nicko - olembe has signed for wigan. Cheers, heard earlier. Shocker. Small left winger come to play left back... By the way, I don't see the Dave Whelan thought. Although no-one has identified any rival bidders yet.
1864roverite Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Whelan is about to offload the rugby side of the JJB, they are apparently in negotiation to begin playing rugger at another unnamed stadium for the next superleague season. This is from a pie eater rugby st holder ! Cant see him buying Rovers as he would have to relinquish his hold on wigan fc
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Whelan is an ex player and I think, fan. He has bags of cash. If he sells the rugby part of the JJB he is even more loaded, and why would he just sell it if he didn't have another investment/project lined up? The only hurdle is that he is at Wigan. Is it possible he could try holding two clubs? I doubt it but can't see him letting Wigan go.
Dunnfc Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Nicko - where did olembe play while he was with Leeds a couple of yrs ago?
ABBEY Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 . Is it possible he could try holding two clubs? I its too messy the frigging chocolate gets everywhere
nicko Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Nicko - where did olembe play while he was with Leeds a couple of yrs ago? Left wing. He is no left back.

As for the sale of the Rugby club. The word is that Dave Whelan is about to complete the sale of Wigan Warriors to Harlequins chairman Ian Lenagan. Under the sale agreement the Warriors will rent the JJB Stadium off Whelan and will continue play at the JJB.
happygilmore Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Left wing. He is no left back. I thought Olembe was a central holding midfielder, you sure you're not confusing him with Sakho, who played on the left wing?
nicko Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I thought Olembe was a central holding midfielder, you sure you're not confusing him with Sakho, who played on the left wing? No, saw him at Leeds and for Cameroon in the African Nations Cup. No way he is a left back, too lightweight. Sakho was the striker. Skillful, quick, but also lightweight.
Sparky Marky Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I think Whelan owning Rovers would be the worst thing. He is proper tight. And by all accounts, a right tosser
den Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 It would be easier to follow the take over stories, if we kept that discussion on the "rovers sold" topic.
Yorick Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I think Whelan owning Rovers would be the worst thing. He is proper tight. And by all accounts, a right tosser I must say he doesn't enjoy the best of reputations in football. One half of me says thats good whilst the other half of me says it's not a sustainable idiosyncracy within the mad financial world of the Premier League. Just a pity Wayne Hemingway doesn't have a bit more dosh. He's about the only person that is a true fan and who possesses the abilities required to turn us into a fashionable club. He usually has the media eating out of his hand doesn't he?
pleasure Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Nicko - where did olembe play while he was with Leeds a couple of yrs ago? he did. souness also tried to sign him, for us, in 03/04. no suprise really, the players agent was/ is..... willie mckay!
