only2garners Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 At the Fans' Forum last week we had a discussion about trialling using the club flag at the Blackburn End, passing it over the heads of the crowd as they do at Liverpool. This turns out not to be practical because of the very heavy weight of the current flag - the club will investigate having a lighter flag made. However, we did then talk about fans displaying their own flags across spare seats when we play the less attractive teams and the club agreed that they would be happy to allow this at the Darwen end when they they could be sure the seats would not be sold. We agreed that we would trial this at the Reading match this Saturday. As a result, if you have a flag and would like to see it displayed on the Darwen End Upper Stand, all you need to do is contact John Newsome at Ewood and be prepared to get your flag down to Ewood on Saturday morning. John will arrange with his stewards to have them displayed.

mattym Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 If the club do make another big flag like the one which sits in the top of the Darwen End, do you think this time they could get the blue and white halves the right way round ??
Guest fernhurstblue Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 to heavy, jesus ..... i've heard it all now!!!!! i've not seen it advertised anywhere with a couple of days before the match with a lowish crowd and not much appeal to anyone, it's bound to be a failure ..... i'd rather have nothing at all than this pathetic gesture by the club.
Guest fernhurstblue Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 the flag was used at cardiff in the familty enclosure ..... it must have out some weight on since, and this would also explain the BS reason for it not being taken to old trafford for the semi ...... what a load of absolute grabbage!

mattym Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 you mean they put the badge on upside down! Yeh or the badge the right way round lol
stuwilky Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Why is it suddenly too heavy? It wasnt too heavy in Cardiff - what a lad of old twaddle.
ABBEY Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 too heave omg haahahah... MAKE SURE IT GOES TO THE FRONT ...AT LEAST IF MAKES THE DRUMMER STOP DRUMMING WHILST THEY PASS IT DOWN IT WILL A RESULT
Tim Southampton Rover Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Why dont we have cardboard cut out people sitting in the empty seats. They could all have individual mics/speakers to start off chants.
Mc Love Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 And paint them with Rovers kits on! Would be dead interesting!

Another crazy example of the stupid an OTT health and safety laws being imposed everywhere......laughable!
ABBEY Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 which is more stupid the flag rule or the YOU CANT HAVE A BOTTLE TOP BECAUSE IT MIGHT HURT SOMEONE IF YOU THROW IT...quote to my 9 year old....
Sandiway Blue Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 which is more stupid the flag rule or the YOU CANT HAVE A BOTTLE TOP BECAUSE IT MIGHT HURT SOMEONE IF YOU THROW IT...quote to my 9 year old.... The funniest part about that,is the fact you can take a bottle of fizzy pop into the ground anyway!
ABBEY Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 i know ..he always does and i forgot to get him one that day
bellamy11 Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 which is more stupid the flag rule or the YOU CANT HAVE A BOTTLE TOP BECAUSE IT MIGHT HURT SOMEONE IF YOU THROW IT...quote to my 9 year old.... The flag rule is stupid but the bottle rule make sense to me. It isn't the tops that do the damage.
Sandiway Blue Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 The flag rule is stupid but the bottle rule make sense to me. It isn't the tops that do the damage. Especially given the amount of pop bottles raining down from the stands every matchday....
ABBEY Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 go on im going to ask how can a bottle top inflict damage..??the bottle of liquid is more l;ikely to cause damage...why not go bag to the cups with lids, too easy that
bellamy11 Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 That's what I mean - the bottle top does no damage. It just keeps the liquid in the bottle if people throw it. Not that people really do, but I understand why it's a rule.
sharptommy Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 i'm gonna take loads of spare bottle tops in my pocket and sell them in the ground.....imagine spilling some mountain dew on your trainers £50.00 or my bottle tops...£0.50...bargain or what?
RoversFanUSA Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Hey if i make a flag and send it over to one of you guys could you all have it put up?
Ben-2000 Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Hey if i make a flag and send it over to one of you guys could you all have it put up? I would say no problem, but it's the one game im not going to get to this season. Let me know if you want me to for another game and i'll happily help you out. Ben.
