Gogger Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 What an impressive performance from the Cowboys. Not much of running game, but when they tried they did it well. Allready looking forward to the matches tomorrow (Thank god they start a bit earlier).

sleepyjack Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Didn't know the Cowboys got a first round bye, too. Nice of McNabb to clear that up for everyone.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Looking forward to the Packers-Cards game but at the same time starting to feel pretty nervous about it. GB have overall the better side and are in better form but that doesn't mean we will win. Warner has a great record in the playoffs and with receivers like Fitzgerald he can do some real damage. I guess it all comes down to who turns up on the day and wants it more.
sleepyjack Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I've got huge interest in the Packers game this afternoon as the winners play the Saints. Green Bay looks a much better side since Mark Tauscher came back into the offensive line. Rodgers was sacked 4.5 times per game before his return, and only 1.3 times per game since. No coincidence that since his return the Packers have only lost one game. I can't see any area of the game where they're weaker than Arizona. But, like you said RVR, that doesn't mean they don't have a chance. Last year at this time, Larry Fitzgerald went mental and caught 7 TD's in 4 games. I can only see them keeping up with Green Bay if he has another huge playoff game.
T4E Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Self indulgent, moi? Denver look certain to take Clady, who is clearly the second best OT available. I really hope they take Ray Rice in the second round, he should still be around and looks a great prospect. He's been doing it all season to be fair to him, but Ray Rice looks every inch the Pro Bowl tailback tonight against the Pats. EDIT: Ed Reed is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
sleepyjack Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Tom Brady is having the game of his life against the Ravens. Sacked twice, a lost fumble and an interception (oh, make that two!). 0-21 against a team that can only run the ball, and I thought their weakness was against the deep pass.
Rovermatt Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Self indulgent, moi? He's been doing it all season to be fair to him, but Ray Rice looks every inch the Pro Bowl tailback tonight against the Pats. EDIT: Ed Reed is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Best safety in the NFL along with Polamalu. Agree on Ray Rice too. He's amazing.
sleepyjack Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 You're ignoring Darren Sharper there, sixth on the all-time interception list. And this season's haul of 9 interceptions, 376 yards and 3 TDs broke the NFL INT return yards record. Cardinals up 7-0 after Rodgers threw a pick with the first play of the game. Definitely makes this one interesting.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Probably the worst start you could imagine for the Pack, especially for such a young and overall inexperienced side. Not out of this game yet but there needs to be a big change in mentality or tactical changes in the second half for us to win this. Our defence has been poor, they are cutting through us like a hot knife through butter both passing and running the ball. There is also not enough pressure on Warner, you can't give a quality QB like Warner plenty of time on the ball we need to get some serious pressure on him. Going to take a big fightback in the second half to win this imo, not sure we have the playoff experience in us to do this though.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Wow what a game. 45-45 and going into OT. What a fightback by the Pack!
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Gutted about the loss, but we showed a great fightback in what was the game of the season so far and one of the best in recent memory. What a shocking start to the game by the Packers, really was asking a lot to get the win after such a horrendous start. We have the youngest side in the NFL, Rodgers starting his first play-off game so we are pretty inexperienced and i think it showed. The Packers D which was ranked the second best in the NFL going into the game choked. Warner had plenty of time on the ball with hardly any pressure at all. The Cardinals cut through us like a hot knife through butter both passing and running the ball, their receivers particularly in the centre of the field were so open. You can't give a quality QB time on the ball to do his thing. Rodgers was amazing in the second half, really picked up his game. I think the guy has all the qualities to become a truly great QB. I have no problems with our QB position for the next 10 years, Rodgers is the real deal. The great Bart Starr lost his first playoff game, but then won the next nine, so there is hope for Rodgers. If we work on the negatives during the off season and make sure we develop the positives further then we will be back in contention next year. The core of this team is young and will get better. We have some great prospects in Finley (could become a great TE), Matthews, Rodgers, Jennings and Raji.

cn174 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 who has done the wembley nfl before...whats the crack with tailgating ? ive just been asked to sort one out for the mane!!!! jeees help lol..... The tailgate at Wembley isn't how the American's would define a tailgate party I don't think. Basically it is an enclosed area outside of Wembley where they have food/drink stalls, bands on, cheerleaders, Hall of Fame etc. You can't take your own food or drink or owt like that and you need a ticket to get in (you apply separately to the match tickets) If you want to apply for tickets through nfluk http://www.nfluk.com/registration-of-interest/login/ is the link. I've filled that in and got an email in each of the past 3 years so shouldn't think it would be a problem again.
