thenodrog Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 An Everton supporting mate mentioned this morning he is rumoured to be going there, rather have Jacobsen myself from what I've seen. Good to see Arsenal win tonight, hope they win the Champs League but they lack something yet. Adebayor?

philipl Posted September 17, 2009 Author Posted September 17, 2009 Lucash having Everton medical today.
LeChuck Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 It's obviously a reaction to Neville's injury, but as he plays most of his games in midfield I do find it a bit strange. The only thing I can think of is that Heitinga will go in defensive midfield and Lucash cover his position in defence. Telegraph is reporting £40,000 a week by the way.
T4E Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 An Everton supporting mate mentioned this morning he is rumoured to be going there, rather have Jacobsen myself from what I've seen. Absolutely. Why did Everton get rid of him?
LeChuck Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Absolutely. Why did Everton get rid of him? Didn't they offer him a years extension to his contract, but as we offered two years (and presumably more regular football) he chose us? Looks like a cracking freebie anyway, he is definitely an upgrade on Ooijer at right back.
Tris Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Terrible news. Get well soon Calum Davenport! Calum Davenport statement from hospital ... Calum said: I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has sent messages of support to me and my family over the last few weeks. It has been a tough time and the support has been very much appreciated. At the moment I am still in hospital and have quite a long way to go on the road to recovery but I am feeling positive. Thanks to the club, my team-mates and fans, to the club doctors and the amazing staff at Bedford Hospital who have looked after me so well. I would also like to thank anyone who has ever donated blood, as you probably saved my life. I would like to encourage everyone to give blood. Good luck to him.

Yeah they offered him a deal - but he choose to leave as he wasnt a regular last season and felt he had a better chance with us. Very good signing so far.

Very good signing so far. I'm amazed Moyes let such a good player slip through his fingers only to sign Lucas Neill a couple of months later. Unless of course Jacobsen has flattered to deceive so far.........hope not.

T4E Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Jacobsen is a very average full back, nothing more nothing less. Decent free transfer. I'll speak as I find Mick, and having watched him in person a couple of time so far he's been excellent for us.
CrazyIvan Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I'll speak as I find Mick, and having watched him in person a couple of time so far he's been excellent for us. Completely agree He's been excellent and hasn't put a foot wrong. He seems to be playing with a smile on his face too.

Im 100% with T4E too on this - unless of course you was expecting us to sign some super-star from Barca or Madrid?! Jacob has been a cracker so far..........
bellamy11 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Im 100% with T4E too on this - unless of course you was expecting us to sign some super-star from Barca or Madrid?! Yup, we couldn't get a star fullback from Real Madrid in a million years...
John Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I'll speak as I find Mick, and having watched him in person a couple of time so far he's been excellent for us. Agree, so far I have been very impressed.
Stuart Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Yup, we couldn't get a star fullback from Real Madrid in a million years... Yes, but Salgado is 1,000,001 years old.
rovers1995 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Lucas Neill has signed a one year deal at Everton, signing in time for the Rovers match on Sunday. Surely he can't be match fit
T4E Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Just make sure we have someone on that can take penalties.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Just make sure we have someone on that can take penalties. Better sign a new player then cos we're probably the worst team in the Premier League at taking penalties.
DeadlyDirk Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Better sign a new player then cos we're probably the worst team in the Premier League at taking penalties. We should just let Robbo take them, I remember him hammering in a couple back in his Leeds days in a few shootouts.
rovers1995 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Pedersen is pretty good at them. I'm imagining Givet to be good as well
tcj_jones Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 If there's ever anything significant at stake when we get a penalty and Roberts picks up the ball, I might have a heart attack. I'm not sure I've ever seen a worse penalty taker. Give 'em to Dunn.
modes98 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Kalinic looked pretty nifty at pens on youtube, maybe if Emerton hadn't pushed him out the way in the reserves we would know for ourselves.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Keef took them and put them away pretty consistently at pretty much all his former clubs. He's better than Diouf and Roberts at them anyway (since he managed to put the rebound in that Diouf seemed intent on missing). Dunn and Pedersen are good shouts also.
