G Somerset Rover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 what about the Pav at spurs...might be him,. Ebanks blake my guess or doyle. Unless we've robbed a bank in the past 24 hours I'd suggest that it's more likely a Benjani/crap Pompey striker (Webber?) type than Ebanks Blake/Doyle/Pav.

Gambit217 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I think there is another striker's name being mentioned at the moment, but it is too bizarre to put on here or anywhere. But it does make me think that there could be cash - from the Benni sale and possibly those ever-caring Trustees - for something else. Nicko, you mentioned above that there may be money available judging by the striker who's being mentioned today. But then a bit later on, you said as a clue, that the player is in the prem and is a possible loan/free signing ? So are we right to assume he's a big earner at a decent sized club who has now become surplus to requirements? Ala Benjani ??
den Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 My guess is that it's no-one good enough for the Prem.
roverlution Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Injured for next 3/4 months, broken foot Broken leg aside, it has to be him! Ok, what about one of.... El Zhar, Scotland (maybe not a free), Utaka?

hollowsr Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Broken leg aside, it has to be him! Ok, what about one of.... El Zhar, Scotland (maybe not a free), Utaka? On £80,000 a week he can f right off
roverlution Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 On £80,000 a week he can f right off It would explain him being free...
Bazrakats Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 It would explain him being free... When you say it tho it sounds like an Allardyce type of player however thos wages are scary. whoever authroized that should be locked up in a padded room.
modes98 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Clues? Premier League, possible loan/free, runs about a lot, difficulties connecting cows backsides and banjos. Oh great. Build us up to knock us down. We need to go for strikers who can hit a barn door, then the step up from that is ones who miss the keeper. Roberts can do neither.
1864roverite Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Fortune from Celtic ? Now your having a giraffe. he has to be one of the worst ever players to don the Celtic centre forward slot, he is utter rubbish and would not be a worthwhile signing. Glad to see Basturk signing for us. Glad to see fat boy leave our ranks, maybe Rovers can stall the deal until Sunday. We desperately need a back up and if there is money quality.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Sounds like we might be after another donkey. Already got Roberts and Di Santo who can't score so that means all the pressure will be on Niko to score enough goals to keep us up.
CrazyIvan Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Tonight's opponents? Jason Scotland? I'd shoot Big Sam myself if he did that...
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I was going to guess Scotland but I couldnt bring myself to type it. Id be sick in my mouth if he came.
LeChuck Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I was going to guess Scotland but I couldnt bring myself to type it. Id be sick in my mouth if he came. I don't think he's a Sam striker at all. Sam like his strikers to have pedigree, Scotland simply doesn't have that.
kolobos Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Emile Heskey........he almost missed an open net against us!
Hughesy Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Wasnt we linked with Vaughan earlier in the window?! He's available on loan.......it will be him!
G Somerset Rover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Nicklas Bendtner? Again, where have we just found the £5 million+ transfer fee or 40-50k per week wages if a loan? People need to be realistic. My guess is a Pompey cast off as earlier, Webber or the like. Someone gash. Hughesy I'd love it to be Vaughan - young and with a point to prove. He'd compliment Kalinic well if he could stay injury free.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Glad to see fat boy leave our ranks, maybe Rovers can stall the deal until Sunday. This was my first thought too, JW is no mug and I'd imagine the "work permit" problems are somewhat of a smoke screen
BigJackWalker Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Won't Bersturk meem that we won't be in the tranfer msrket anymore?
hollowsr Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 From what Nicko has said is it just me that thinks it will be someone who is either available for free or on loan? Also possibly someone who is in their 30's judging by his comment about age of transfers so far this window
