unluckymorton Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Does anyone know how to enter the crossbar challenge competition on match days? Or has anyone been lucky enough to have a do? It's been advertised recently on the official website, I've never actually see it take place.
Blue n White Rover Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 It's been advertised recently on the official website, I've never actually see it take place. It's been taking place at HT in the last 2 home games. Few kids having a pop, as well as adults. Good fun, but on Sunday, one contestant was making a huge hole in the ground with his boots so he could have a good shot at it!
super_arran Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 It's been advertised recently on the official website, I've never actually see it take place. The club's held it at half time for the last 2 home games. No-one has got close
CrazyIvan Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 The club's held it at half time for the last 2 home games. No-one has got close Only one guy has come close to getting the ball in the air past the goals let alone hit the crossbar.
DeadlyDirk Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Has anyone seen Salgado's version of the challenge where he launces the goal posts across the halfway line to hit the ball? Quite impressive.

super_arran Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Have they been better than Berbatov was on Sunday? I'd say on par
T4E Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Has anyone seen Salgado's version of the challenge where he launces the goal posts across the halfway line to hit the ball? Quite impressive. !!!!!!!!!!!!!OMA MORF TAHT DENRAEL EH
super_arran Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 !!!!!!!!!!!!!OMA MORF TAHT DENRAEL EH You must mean "TNRAEL"?
Muddboy Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I entered the draw to have a crack at the crossbar challenge through the offy website and got through! I'll be taking to Ewood at half term during the Arsenal game – should be a laugh. Surely I can't do any worse than any of the other fans that have had a go in recent weeks. Crikey, if Pascal Chimbonda can ping a ball 40 yards, I'm damn sure most people can...
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Just wear trainers and don't try to toe poke it.
Eddie Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Take a pair of football boots, surely? If you're going to have a go, give yourself the best chance possible.
brian_gallagher85 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Don't turn up in a suit like that numpty on Sunday Saw one bloke on Sunday almost make it but was just wide of the goal. Oh, and give Di Santo a slap if he tries getting in your way like he was doing on Sunday!
Stuart Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I was quite impressed with Diouf immediately after the no-marks had a go. Ok, he was just outside the edge of the penalty area but he hit it twice in succession. I think Di Santo hit it once too. Some of those people who attempt it are useless. Surely you'd have some range practise at Pleasy a couple of weeks before hand. After all, £1000 is not to be sniffed at!
Muddboy Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Footy boots are a must and, no, I won't e wearing a suit. Perhaps I'll wear a Mankini instead... Either way, I'll give it a good go!
S15 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 You must mean "TNRAEL"? Leave the KLAT OMA to the professionals. Girl.
bazza Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Most people run straight at the ball, as if taking a penalty. I've never seen anyone yet who would try a Johnny Wilkinson type of kick; similar to taking a corner kick. You have to loft the ball high into the air with pace. Very difficult.
super_arran Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Leave the KLAT OMA to the professionals. Girl. Will do, man
london-rover Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 got a call from someone at rovers today, have been picked to do it monday, will give it a crack
thenodrog Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 From what I have seen only non footballers and people with two left feet need apply. Some will find the ineptitude hilarious but I find it more cringeworthy.
