Hughesy Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Prior to the window shutting I think we will sign 1 of Faty/ Iranian fella, a loan striker & 1 striker signing.

alexanders Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I am thinking that our targets might be Jelavic or Moa. Reported a bid of 1.4m£ for Moa and probably Valerenga waiting to see if they get more money for him elsewhere. The same with Jelavic. We might be battling with Rangers and Rapid Vienna want their main target sorted before they sell Jelavic to us. You are very vulnerable right away if you sell your star player and other clubs know you have money and are desperate and they can squeeze more money out of you. Hoping this made sense as I am sitting here hungover with a medium strong (hot hot hot) kebab and a gallion of water! Just preparing for my next visit to ewood when we are owned by syyed.
BPF Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 It says we will sign Messi for 120Mill after Syed takes over that considering he has a 200M release clause I have to say reading that rumour room it looks like nearly all posters are chancers & lucky guessers. Not sure about that one Brfcrule1. Sounds likely to me.
Clitherover Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 We dont have that much so id take it with more than a pinch of salt, the Jones swap would be tempting but id probably say no Really?, i'd definitely swap Jones for Crouch with our striker situation as it is. It isn't going to happen though.
nicko Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Love the 'irons in the fire but not very hot' line from Sam...class if a little 'off message' shall we say. Only news is that two strikers I know about will be watched in Europe this weekend. No names until Sunday. There are a lot of leagues swinging into serious action now. That tells me there is not much 'hot' on the transfer front until they are checked and compared with Mister X, Y and Z back here.
Ricky Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Hoping for moa and jelavic being the two watched. Comparing them to Beattie and benjani, hopefully we'll fondue one of the first two, if not both.
thenodrog Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 never seen a twitching corpse, so will take your word for it. It was an accurate description, and an excellent example of a simile.
BPF Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I wonder if no signings by Saturday and a 3 - 0 drubbing by Everton will result in the trustees giving Sam a bit more help.
daveoftherovers Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 It was an accurate description. I concur...
alexanders Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Just been mentioned on norwegian television that Blackburn are coming to norway this week to watch Moa. More details soon...
SergioPeter89 Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Just been mentioned on norwegian television that Blackburn are coming to norway this week to watch Moa. More details soon... They are going to watch the internation friendly between Norway and France. Thats what Morten Gamst Pedersen said.
Iceman Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Benjani is playing Sunday footy in a park, somewhere in europe. Beattie is on the opposition side, so makes sense that we are looking at 2 strikers from Europe
Ricky Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Has that french squad been announced yet? Surely n'zonzi has to be in with a shout of a call up.
Iceman Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Has that french squad been announced yet? Surely n'zonzi has to be in with a shout of a call up. Nzonzi is a good lad, always at training, never has a bad word to say about the manager, so i dont think he is the type of player that they will be looking at.
unclejack28 Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Have these strikers in Europe that we are looking at been mentioned on here before?
SergioPeter89 Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Has that french squad been announced yet? Surely n'zonzi has to be in with a shout of a call up. He isnt in that squad, but Charles N'Zogbia is there. According to a journalist who is following Manchester United on twitter (BenHibbs), Diouf and Welbeck will go out on loan this week. But he doesnt know where yet.
alexanders Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 What seriopeter said. MGP has been bragging about Moa to the chief scouts and they are coming to Ullevaal to look at Moa on wednesday. Interview done with Big Sam he doesnt want to say anything, but he would like more Norwegians in the club. Blackburn Rovers is actually the English clubs which have had most norwegians (7). I have a feeling that we might have submitted a bid for Moa and we are going over to try and conclude the deal.
LeftWinger Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Really?, i'd definitely swap Jones for Crouch with our striker situation as it is. It isn't going to happen though. I certainly wouldn't. Crouch is so over-rated it's untrue. He turns 30 in January and has only got in to double figures twice in the top flight (11 and 12 goals). Swapping him for the best thing to come out of the academy since Duff and Dunn would be a bad move IMO. Who's going to be worth more in 2 years time?
alexanders Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Talking about swapping Jones with Crouch is ludicrous. He is a local lad , genuine Rovers supporter and just signed a new contract. He is being dubbed as the next big thing in England by many. We would be insane to do a deal like that.
Iceman Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 desperate times. calls for desperate measures. We had this discussion before, in that instance it was Samba. Rigters + Roberts + Andrews+ Zurab + Brown and maybe just maybe, we will think about a swap involving Crouch
ewoodpo Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Really?, i'd definitely swap Jones for Crouch with our striker situation as it is. It isn't going to happen though. You feeling alright, Jones is the future of our club Crouch is 30 and on stupid wages it ain't happening. Thank ###### your not the manager.
novella Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Rangers have had their 3.5 million bid for Jelavic rejected. Looks like thats us out of the running for that one.
Iceman Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 i wonder if Sam might look at Eidur again... I dont think he has gone back to Spurs. Any takers?
