pleased with ibisevic, when the word spread that we might get him i was wondering how we could afford him but 6 million is a top top price for a player of his calibre. just shows how shockingly bad the prices have been inflated in the english game. 6 mill will get you a european striker with top level experience and good calibre, whilst here in england, 6 mill would get you a prolific championship striker. thats the exact reason for the amount of forgieners in our game.

He is due tomorrow or over the weekend, he played last night and has travelled back to Dallas with the rest of his team today. Hopefully he will be over soon, from knowing nothing about him, been talking to MLS fans and everyone of them have said very good things about him.

Lansbury - Kean wants him, but I don't think that we are at a stage yet where a offer has been accepted, the negotiating team have been working flat out on other deals over the last few days, hopefully they will turn their attention to Lansbury once these other deals are concluded.

I have to say I am not very impressed with his goal scoring record, OK its better than Roberts but is that really saying much?

Yep according to what Kean told us someone else is having a medical who has limited PL experience. Could that be Lansbury or is there someone we haven't a clue about? Possibly Boyata?

To be fair you can't really judge a players goal scoring record until he's played in the league, look at Shevchenko, arguably one of the best strikers of all time and he struggled in England. Some players adapt better than others

Shev was on the way down before he came to England.

Of course I hope the guy does well just that past performance does not suggest he will set the league on fire.

Players return from ACL's in basketball and Australian Football all the time, most with little residual impact. I'm not too worried about the lads injury.

I think realistically if Ibisevic contributes 12 league goals a season that will be worth the money we paid, especially since we seem to have got a few goal scoring midfielders. Looking at his record apart from that one amazing half season I don't think he'll be a 20 goal a season striker.

With these new signings though you'd think Dunny's days at the club are numbered. We now have Formica, N'Zonzi, Vukcevic and Petrovic all as senior players, together with Grella if you'd like to count him as when fit he can do a job. There's also Lowe coming through who is a decent prospect too. If we can get a couple of million for Dunn then I wouldn't be averse to selling him.

But we have made a bid for Onuoha and also another player with limited premiership experience. That suggests to me a RB, a holding midfielder. Or a backup striker if Raul does not materialize. Any leads?

Ibisevic and Vukcevic are both players that will improve our team and are coming in at an excellent price. Good business by Venky's. A couple more decent signings and this window will look okay, though it would have been nice to have had these deals wrapped up before we started losing valuable points.

Demba Ba hasnt done too bad in England, they played in the same team.

In the last 3 seasons Veda has scored 2 more (10/11), 7 more (09/10), 4 more (08/09) than Ba in the same side.....a midtable side.

Very true an Acl injury would have been a career ending injury 10 or so years ago. Not nowadays with modern medical technicques.

another attempt at raul, which sounds interesting. cause according to andy cryer on his twitter page, there is someinteresting info on him in todays telegraph. he also said it might be online somewhere right now. anybody seen this already??
