Tooogs Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Definitley happy with the result but one game won't change my opinion on the manager. It will take a lot more than that. Paul Merson on SSN is talking ######, we should be applauded for not being so fickle and sticking to our guns. The law of averages says your gonna win at least one game in every ten that you play! Glad to see Simon did well. Kean can't take credit for that. He will have just done his own thing. Hopefully Venkys give him the boot and bring in a new man who will now have much more of a chance after todays result. THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!
sam_rovers Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 The law of averages mean that we will one, we beat one of the newly promoted teams and still conceded 2 goals. This with arguably our first choice defense.. It is very concerning if Kean is now kept in the job as it would mean certain relegation. This win should not fool anyone, with Kean in charge we will be relegated
jones_rover Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Great win today, but result rather flattered us! Even though Kean needs to go we needed this win desperately to give whoever our manager is in the short/long run a realistic chance of keeping us up. Special mention has obviously got to go to the Yak but also to Simon Vukcevic who was excellent. Only god knows how this chap can't get a game! Excellent technique on the volley to set up second goal. Onwards and upwards for the rovers, and KEAN OUT!
Backroom DE. Posted December 3, 2011 Backroom Posted December 3, 2011 I honestly don't know how to feel. Kean has to go, but this win will ensure he stays. To be fair - the people ITK have constantly said Kean is "close to the edge" and "on the brink" and so on and so forth and I've lost count of the times I've read "one more push to get him axed" and it's never happened... so without any guarantee he would get sacked today, regardless of result, I didn't want us to lose. The win is vital in terms of staying in this league, however, it's only a positive if Kean gets canned. If he stays then it's simply giving us false hope, because under this man we aren't staying up. I've been with and still am with the missus today so not seen or really read anything about the match... but I notice that once again we concede two goals and have to score a minimum of three to win. What happened to "closing the back door" Keano?
jim mk2 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Swansea must be gutted at losing to our shambolic outfit and showed their lack of experience at this level. An experienced Premier League side would have taken advantage of a Rovers midfield containing not a single player who can tackle or peform defensive duties properly. We desperately need Nzonzi and another holding player in the team.
FourLaneBlue Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Kean got lucky for once with the Rochina injury. Kean isn't going anywhere anyway, so we might as well enjoy the rare win. Getting something away at Sunderland would be more like it.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 You can hear him on 5live now with the protests clearly audible in the background What did he say after the game? He is clearly one of the greatest football minds of his generation, it must have been riveting to hear what he had to say?
deftangel Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Swansea always has a lot of possesion. That is their game. They have also created most chances in the league so far. Great match from the Rovers today. Delighted with the 3 points. This. They have one of the highest possession rates in the league. Happy with the three points. I understand those with concerns about the long term but unless it was absolutely guaranteed he was getting canned if we lost, hoping for a defeat is pointless. He got a new contract weeks ago and transfer meeting already arranged for Monday. I don't think it was ever a given. I want him gone as much as anyone else but the protesters have to pick their battles. Much of the media sympathy we garnered for the muppets forfeit comments will be eroded this evening, much as they will be wrong. Back to the game, pleased we have a front man after my own heart who's a bit lazy but can finish. Whatever's going on with Vuckevic needs to be sorted so he can play more. Has looked good every time I've seen him.
Mattie456 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Ugly, ugly scenes outside the riverside at full time. Rovers fans turning on each other and fighting. What have we become?
Exiled in Toronto Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Great to win on a Saturday but the gut feeling is it won't make any difference in the long term - we are still likely to be relegated under this manager. He's facing a master tactician at Sunderland next week - anyone want to bet on the outcome ? Funny how after a win that Canadian bloke up pops up after months under the frozen tundra. Been back a couple of weeks but don't let facts get in the way - habit of a lifetime, I know.
jones_rover Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 The worrying thing is that we have to score at least three to beat a Swansea team who are poor on the road! Even though they passed it round nicely they lacked any serious intent and seemed ontent to keep it in their own half. We also seem to lack any leadership. For example there is noone giving anyone a load of grief when we concede ala Nelsen!
SharrockDownSouth Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 What did he say after the game? He is clearly one of the greatest football minds of his generation, it must have been riveting to hear what he had to say? Nothing of worth, but Pougatch's line of questioning was so obsequious that he could just coast along with the usual platitudes
MarkBRFC71 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Great result in isolation, average performance, but dire for Rovers' Premier League future as it likely keeps the charlatan in a job for a few more weeks at least. The Yak is what we've been missing for some time - a proper, instinctive striker who can finish. The most surreal moment though was seeing David Gest in a Blackburn End exec box sporting a Rovers shirt, and holding up a "100% Rovers, 0% Venky's & Kean" t-shirt so people could take pics!
Tugay-is-God Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 The Yak saying he is very disappointed with the fans on Radio Rovers.
Backroom Tom Posted December 3, 2011 Backroom Posted December 3, 2011 Feel fantastic to win, it's what football is all about. I'm glad Kean got stick even at 4-2 as he needs to go. It's funny the difference in feeling from people at the game and at home, I was the same against Newcastle in the cup to be honest. It's poor that we need to score at least 3 to win a game. Looked like it kicked off a bit in the darwen end after their second a load of their fans seem to rush the Rovers end. FEED THE YAK! Edit: If he supports Kean then fair play to the lad for showing that, it's his perogative. A high percentage of the fans don't though.
Backroom DE. Posted December 3, 2011 Backroom Posted December 3, 2011 The Yak saying he is very disappointed with the fans on Radio Rovers. The Yak, like Dann, is one of "Kean's lads" and will back him until the grim end. The Yak is paid to score goals, however, not to judge Rovers fans... so maybe he should button it and keep doing what he does well.

Anyway I couldn't care less what he say if he keeps doing that

Plastic Head Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 A surreal game in a surreal atmosphere made even more surreal by hollywood wierdo David Gest appearing in the Blackburn End after the match. Could have easily given this away. The 4th goal was definately needed again. This changes nothing. Kean & Venkys out. Roberts is a Venky rent-boy.
Lathund Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Someone who hasn't been getting a lot of praise but who I thought had a very good game today was Mauro Formica.
Backroom Tom Posted December 3, 2011 Backroom Posted December 3, 2011 I forgot about Gest, everyone was looking up at a box and theres David Gest with a Rovers shirt on, apparently at half time he held up one of the yellow t shirts
jones_rover Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 What a prick of a reporter on Radio Lancashire calling us fans a disgrace! Oh god he's carrying on now and giving Kean a chance to bathe in the glory of the win and take credit for the Yak and Simon...
thebigguy Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 They seemed to have more passion to win the game than us. And so bloody annoying that first half 90% of fans was to get rid of the tw@ but after we was winning these so called fans turned against everyone else that was anti Kean which shows how fickle the fans are
