I emailed Curzon Ashton and the have confirmed it's definitely 15.00 kick off. 1 Quote
KentExile Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) Edit - Curzons twitter feed seems to be all there is for updates on our U21s game today Can't yet see anything online about what sort of team our U21s are putting out, although former Rovers U21 Charlie Weston starting for Curzon this afternoon. He did look solid if unspectacular at U21 level for us, but does not seem to have been fancied by either Barrow or Rochdale, and is now in the 6th tier Edited 22 hours ago by KentExile Quote
all you need is duff Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I’m there and I’m not 100% sure who is playing for us. Couldn’t see anywhere to get a team sheet. For some reason we’re wearing last year’s away kit. Duru has looked a class above so far. Barrett, Dunn, Powell, Wood, Olsen the others I know in the starting lineup. I think it’s Boggan up front who has hit the post and looked sharp 2 Quote

Houghton played centre back last match too (despite being a right back) as all the other "more senior" U21 CBs are in spain with the main squad Edited 21 hours ago by KentExile 1 Quote
all you need is duff Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago That looks about right apart from Wood is definitely on the right so Dlamini probably centre mid. “Trialist” has Venkys as his shirt sponsor 1 minute ago, Exiled_Rover said: Don't know if he's right: https://x.com/RoversXtra/status/1949105025327718496 3 Quote

all you need is duff Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Olsen, Duru, Trialist off at half time. Houghton as gone right back, Grady-Macken playing centre back (!), Edmondson centre mid, someone I don’t know centre back with Grady-Macken 1 Quote
all you need is duff Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago This was the team sheet. Everyone got on at some point. It was Decania who partnered Grady-Macken at the beginning of the second half before Max Davies came on and Grady-Macken moved to centre mid 3 Quote

bluebruce Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Interesting that Mafoumbi (who also had his name spelled wrong) only makes the bench in a u21 side weakened by having quite a few players off with the first team. 1 Quote

If he did have a bad knee injury which kept him out of the second half of last season whilst he was out on loan, then nursing him back may make some sense. Although it could just as easily be that he isn't as good as those who brought him in, thought he was I've still not seen any mention this pre season of Higgins, Leeming, Mansbridge, or Joseph. So wonder if they are injured or have maybe just been with the U18s? But they are all players who I would have thought would be with the U21s, at least in pre season Edited 6 hours ago by KentExile Quote
arbitro Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Quite simply Rovers under 21's were poor yesterday and I would struggle to name any player who stood out and should be training with the first team on that showing. We hit the post in the first half and missed an easy second half chance but those aside we were second best all over the pitch. Clearly those comments are tempered by the fact it was a friendly and the coaches will be relatively pleased that it was a good work out. Perhaps to emphasise that they brought on O'Grady-Macken at half time and played him at centre half when Max Davies was still on the bench. Davies did come on later and HOM went into his usual midfield position. Also we played three at the back in the first half and reverted to a back four in the second. The only player who didn't get any game time was Adam Khan. 3 Quote

Then he got injured. Yesterday he played only in the first half but as a wing back. He was bombing on when the opportunities arose. Personally I think he will get another loan. He has outgrown the under 21's but isn't ready for the first team yet but I guess he needs an injury free run either way. 4 Quote
