Presumably, he has impressed in training and caught the managers eye, unlike Gueye who seems to have thrown his toys out of the pram It seems very much like the senior management rate him more than the u21 coaches. Rogerb Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 Wasn't there a bright prospect a few years ago in similar circumstances who signed for Leicester and seems to have disappeared 1 Quote

Mostly lower league with Cheltenham Blackpool. Couple of seasons in the championship with Plymouth. Thanks Kent 1 Quote

I'm sure his wage slip looked lovely for a couple of years though. Quote
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 Tyjon could become another player we add to the list of those who might have achieved far more had they stayed at Blackburn, continued their development, earned regular first‑team minutes, and been given a fair shot at meeting the expectations set by the club and its coaches. Instead, there’s now a real possibility he gets swallowed up in the depth of a bigger club, overshadowed by other talented players, and ultimately ends up on the loan carousel before fading from view. Money = success in the eyes of many youngsters nowadays. If he doesn't want to be at Blackburn, time to go. 6 Quote
benhben Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 (edited) Not that fussed about Tyjon. If he was that good he'd have been closer to the first team already. If you're refusing contracts before even playing a first team game, that tells me either you or your advisors will be trouble. Its a shame some talented youngsters chase more money from such a young age rather than trying to get first team football. I always think if youre a young prospect, doing well in a lower level first team will put you in the shop window far more than the premier league U21 sides. 3 years after Ash Phillips left, he's still in the championship after 3 loans, but on more money I guess. He is a 17 year old There are not many of those playing first team football at any level, and those that are tend to be built like guys in their early to mid 20s Edited December 31, 2025 by KentExile 1 1 Quote

He’s neat and tidy on the ball but that’s it. 3 Quote

I just wonder if the general standard outside the Premier League is dropping too (though not at the speed of Rovers decline). I'm not sure - and could be that, rather, the Premier League is accelerating away but it's the impression I get of the Championship, at least. 1 Quote
