To lose Batth and Weimann to Derby and Brittain to Middlesbrough is so disappointing.

And to be potentially in a similar situation with Tronstad and Travis soon is criminal.

No idea why we can’t get contracts over the line but it’s a farce.

This window needs to be a big one.

One positive is the managers response. No nonsense. Hope he isn’t a lone voice in the building…..

What is Forshaw going to bring to the table for example? The square root of bugger all is the answer. Ditto Hedges.

I wouldn't pay Cantwell in washers based on his performances last season yet he is allegedly our top earner by some margin. Terrible value on the face of it.

Another example is Toth. Allegedly on an eye watering  £10k p.w. considering he was on the bench nearly all last season. I'd rather keep Brittain, flog him and promote a young keeper 

Plenty of ways round it IF they really wanted to keep any of the 3 obvious suspects.

Clearly, they don't - in fact Brittain's replacement has been brought in in advance of his departure.

Sensible in one sense, but not if they aren't on the same level.

Not for the first time I strongly disagree with your post. Not all players are worth the same salary based on their contribution to the team and therefore their actual value to us. 

I didn’t - you said give him what he wants how do you/I know what he wants? How do you know he hasn’t asked for 20k plus?

and your right all players worth vary but our 3 are key players and if you give one of them ‘whatever they want’ don’t you think the other two will go well if he’s getting that I want this……dangerous game that

We lost three players on a free before and I’d rather get some money than lose them on a free- especially Brittain- everything that is wrong with modern football in a nutshell.

I’ve got to the point where id rather have the players for a year and let them go for free. 

The club have shown when we do sell players it makes no difference whatsoever to the transfer budget or bringing in players of anywhere near the same quality.

May as well just enjoy them whilst we can.

Why, you were criticising me a few days ago for pointing out the state of the squad at that point. (Which I freely acknowledged)

Since then the most promising of our potential incoming signings seems to have melted away into the ether and arguably our best players is leaving.

You should have learnt not to trust this lot after the Mcguire signing which  you triumphantly announced then had to come back with your tail between your legs announcing it never went through.

So on that basis, if VI is genuine and completely oblivious to the fate that befell the last 2 managers, we can expect to see him walk out in February or March like JDT and Eustace then?

It was a tongue in cheek comment about you saying of the season started tomorrow the squad isn’t ready.

Which is obvious as we were barely in to pre season and 99% of clubs’ squads aren’t ready for the season at that point.

I don’t trust the venkys and never have.

He could possibly walk.

A job in the championship is an attractive job. Even at a batshit crazy club like ours (which not every potential manager will know in depth).

Look at how many managers Watford have attracted.

We had a good squad and have been pushing the playoffs several times over the last few seasons. 

Any manager will look at a club in the championship and think one good season and their reputation soars.

They find out about Pasha and the venkys the hard way.

He knew what he was signing up for - the last two managers walked (one paid to get out of his contract!) and the manager before that had his contract run out without a word from Pune.
