Happy to see the back of Buckley, don't have the venom for him that I did a few years ago when he was putting in terrible performances but he wasn't good enough even when we were poor of options and had multiple managers who didn't fancy him. Very lucky after we offered him such a long deal. Best for all concerned.

Real shame about Bucko, he actually sounds devastated in that interview (which surprises me as always felt his major fault was a lack of commitment to applying himself and making something of his clear talent).

Tagging him will increase visibility and allow more of his followers etc to see it, so it's a good thing as much as it may get on your tits....

His new clubs average attendance last season was less than 3000 with a season low of less than 700!!! 

It's going to be a weird experience for Buckley for sure.

Lets just call it Buckleys personalised unique twitter/X username.   its necessary for Rovers to write that to include him in the post, ina similar way that I couldn't email you without using your email & couldn't just use "Rev"

JDT, Eustace and Val haven’t fancied him so it’s probably best for all parties that he moves on.

Eustace never did. he never fitted Eustace and Ismael style of play.

I dont understand why if it's a Twitter/X post from Rovers aimed at the general fan base it's necessary to send it to Buckley personally, it's hardly a glowing tribute written straight from the heart.

I'll leave it there though, Im sure there'll be a lot bigger things to complain about soon as Emerald says.

I would dispute we have spent anywhere near £7.5m.  I think fees for players signed have been over-hyped for the consumption of those in our fan base who are highly gullible.  I would put fees paid in the £4 to 5million range with a further £2 to 3million due when we win the PL!!!

The fact is fees for departing players Brittain, Travis, JRC, Buckley and Dolan (compo) will almost certainly exceed the fees paid for our incomings.

I think the reality is we have spent nothing, in fact we are in the black on fees and you can add to that some add-ons from past sales.

I suspect if our budget is £5million, there may well be some hefty bonuses to be paid due to a substantial saving on that budget!

Of course the only way round this is to scrap all this 'undisclosed fee' crap, report both the actual fee, potential add-ons and the fee paid to agents for every transaction.  That would give you the openness, transparency and honesty that seems to excite you. 

 

Don't really care how much players cost, much more interested in how good they are.

Sad to see Buckley leave. Feels like the final remnants of the Mowbray era drifting away. Say what you want but I do miss the feel that squad had. It had a more homely sense about it; we are heading in a direction where 90% of the squad have no connection to this country, let alone the club. Not that nationality matters but nevertheless it feels as distant as it ever has for me.

Losing an academy player is never good. Buckley had the potential but never quite reached up to it. Wish him all the best. He obviously knew there was a section of supporters who had nothing nice to say about him hence the comment. For me, a young man who gave 20 years to the Rovers and say what you want about how he comes across, that will be a miss in the dressing room

I just dont get the concept of Twitter/X at all or understand why on earth anyone would possibly want to be on it.

Unless you're on there for monetary purposes earning an income.
