I'm not sure they have a strong squad, they have made (as you say) some very strong signings for their first team, but the squad players (Elliott Lee, O'Connell etc) are good League One players to me, not Championship players. Obviously if they make another 10 signings this week, then that changes Edited 5 hours ago by KentExile Quote

Mattyblue Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Only four parachute clubs in the league this season and even putting Sheff Utd aside and it’s early days, but initial thoughts, the relegated three look like they might not be as strong as some years. Owners across the Championship will be thinking we’ve a decent sniff this year … of course, the owners of Blackburn Rovers won’t be thinking said thing. 2 Quote

Parkinson has proven before that he often struggles at this level, and although he has a very strong Championship squad likely to be strengthened further, one a good manager could really push on, they arent levels above most of the league like they have been in the past so it requires better management. That being said, its hard to read their owners. Theyve obviously transformed that club but I wonder if their achilles heel will be being too loyal. There is a man in Northampton called Dyche , Wrexham best be quick cos Potter isn't going to last long ! Quote

Let the squad settle down and the league settle down. You do love a sacking Parkinson should have the season given what he has achieved at Wrexham. I don't think they get anything above mid table which I think is right. Quote

And you wish relegation upon anyone who sacks an underperforming manager. I never said that he should be sacked now. But if they continue to underperform, then just blindly giving him the season is absolutely ridiculous. Obviously its not your club because you wanted Ismael out after 7 games. Quote

I still think Watford were wrong for sacking Cleverly and I stand by that. Its 3 games into the season and yet you are totally sacking head coaches from their roles. Parkinson and Wrexham have made a number of signings and it will take time to settle there. Their owners are still backing Parkinson and rightly so given what he has achieve there. Quote

You were publicly stating Ismael should have been sacked after not much more than 3 games into his tenure here last season. You seem to have totally flipped on that view now. The owners of Wrexham have ambition, so they won't be keeping a struggling manager out of gratitude or loyalty, or because he's done a good job up to now. That sort of investment they will want and expect more than a relegation danger so if things don't pick up I bet he will be in trouble. This isn't amateur football where you let someone carry on in the job because its the nice or right thing to do. It's only at places like Rovers (that go nowhere and achieve nothing) where individuals and nice men get to carry on regardless of performance and results. Quote

I never said that they should sack him. Not yet. But the idea that he just gets the season regardless of results is ludicrious. In the lower leagues (along with Birmingham in League 1) they had a budget that meant that they had a team far above the quality of the rest so it was quite an easy job. Different job here, they do have a good squad that they are putting together but there are lots of similarly strong teams. He shouldnt just get a season at it purely on goodwill. I would personally sack Potter because hes been at West Ham for a bit now and there have been no signs that he is the man for the job. Watford were also correct IMO to sack Cleverley or at least justified. Their form in the second half of the season was the worst in the league. Quote
