ManaliveKarl Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Say we do go down. What players from the current squad would you trust/keep for a league 1 promotion push? Or is most that squad instructing agents to look for ways out? Quote

No rebuilding done last summer, it was a gross failure and we have to start all over again. We have just about got a first eleven if everyone was full fit--which they never are and we are certain to lose Tronstadt, Cashin and Alebiosu at least. If offers come in for anyone eg Toth they'll be gone. We'll be very ever dependent on the Academy. How long can this go on? Its a nightmare scenario we are facing. 2 Quote
jim mk2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago If we were to go down I'd expect a clearout with the better players sold and more cheap imports / loanees brought in. And I wouldn't expect a promotion push either - unlike the last time under Mowbray this looks terminal. The club is in a far worse state and we could be down amongst the dead men for years. "Bigger" clubs than Rovers have struggled to get out of League One. Leeds took 3 years to come back. And we'd have no talismen like Danny Graham or Bradley Dack this time. It's vital we stay up this season - because there's no say we'll be coming back anytime soon. And if the current hierarchy at Ewood stay in place it could get worse. This time next year we could be in another relegation battle They have to appoint a decent manager this week. And then we have to hope for the best 5 Quote

I expect we'll be stuck with De Neve, Henriksson, and Tavares. Quote

Not many! Assuming Toth Alebiosu Gudjohnssen Cantwell Tronstad and maybe Carter would be leaving anyway Id only be looking to keep Pratt Atcheson Litherland Montgomery and Wharton. Anyone else good enough? 1 Quote
Ossydave Posted 25 minutes ago Posted 25 minutes ago I imagine we'll practically become a youth team to be honest packed with academy graduates. Theres bound to be good players in there but they'll get bullied a lot in league 1. 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted 24 minutes ago Posted 24 minutes ago Of the young lads, they have shown flashes of quality but I wouldnt just assume even at League 1 that they would thrive just yet, certainly all together. They would naturally get more game time but how ready they are is unclear. Atcheson looks talented but very raw, Montgomery has struggled for game time, not sure what position best suits Litherland, Pratt seems most physically ready but not necessarily to play every week. Of the senior group, its best not to think about it. Pickering would be a very good left back at that level but his card seems to be marked. Miller would be a good player at that level for all of the question marks in the Championship but he might push for a move. Afolayan would probably be an asset if he was willing to stay but he only signed for 18 months. Alebiosu, Toth, obviously Tronstad and Gudjohnsen would all be straight out the door as quick as they could. Cantwell too if someone wanted him. There would be a group of players (Jorgensen, Miroshita etc) who maybe would attract teams in poor foreign leagues who might want to take them. I fear that the likes of De Neve, Tavares and Henriksson wouldnt even attract teams like that. 1 Quote
onlyonejackwalker Posted 9 minutes ago Posted 9 minutes ago Average turnover is circa 10 million in League One, compared to nearly 40 million in the championship. Our turnover would drop by over 50%. Anyone with any value would be sold. Higher wage earners released. It would be carnage. Disastrous. It's imperative we stay up. 1 Quote
