Blackburn Hooligans Joke!

The money the club pays the local police is disgusting in my opinion. We have 5 riot vans, several horses and God knows how many foot soldiers to police 25 lads? Ok the police around the ground do a great public service and do not concentrate on hooligans but look after the genuine football fan going to the game but the ones assigned to the hooligans just milk the overtime and trump up not only the charges but the threat posed by these individuals.

and who can blame them for milking it with hourly rates like this plus the possibility of seeing a free game of footy and with a bit of luck the chance to clout someone with a stick without fear of reprisals.

Chief Inspector £61.08 per hour

Inspectors £55.98 per hour

Sergeants £55.98 per hour

Constables £46.23 per hour

Mounted Constables £75.05 per hour

Dog Handler Constables £65.81 per hour

can anyone point me in the direction of a good horse riding school rolleyes.gif

Sod "football hooligans"

I travelled home to West London tonight via Richmond, where one branch of the District tube line begins.

Apparently today there was a charity rugby match at Twickers, in aid of the Tsunami - a Northern Hemisphere team v Southern Hemisphere game. Richmond isn't far from Twickenham for you non-Londoners.

Train goes nowhere for ages, walk back to concourse to try and find out why, and well f*** me, there's a bunch of p!ssed up rugby fans who've already smashed up a ticket machine and are starting on the train windows.

British Transport Police arrive, draw batons (never seen that before - it's quite funny when the p!ssed up tossers cower with their hands protecting their heads) and summon backup, within moments Richmond station is like a bad episode of The Bill. Rugby fans with their faces pinned to the platform, their posh girlfriends screaming obscenities at the police.

Will this episode ever be linked with a rugby union game at Twickers??? Will it make the papers?? Will it @#/?. I'm going to take this example and use it every time any holier-than-thou toss pot comes out with "football related violence" - clumsy, hit shift + 8 again!! off - rugby is far worse, but above criticism.

Oh dear,

someone has seen the Wigan debacle and think that what GMP are charging is what police get paid.

I can guarantee that there isnt a constable (well, perhaps a chief one) is this country that earns £85,000 (46.23*35*52)

rover.gif my mate who is a grandad was arrested on tuesday on the riverside, they went to there seats only to find a family sat in them, instead off starting a uproar over the seats,he and his 3 mates moved to the empty seats near the darwen end.

a steward said you can't sit here they are for segragation, stupid really as these seats were occupied for 75% off the game.they found some empty seats in the non-segragation area only for the rightful ticket holders to turn up.

they were then allocated seats in the segragated area, only to be told to sit,my mate argued if they sat they could not see the game as everyone was stood.this prompted a arguement with the said steward, who realised he could not win the arguement called the police,my mate was arrested -handcuffed -and led away, apparentley this caused a lot off unrest among other fans and could have caused a bigger problem.so he now faces a massive fine, and a banning order-WELL DONE KIETH LARD tinykit.gif

There's some twaddle appearing on here. I'm not going to write a response to everything that I find laughable but a couple of quick of my viewpoints.

As someone said regarding the postal order incident - if it kicked off with bottles and stools flying over innocent drinkers. On a normal friday night the culprits probably wouldn't have got a custodial sentance. They should do though. The fault is that the law is too soft on those on a Friday night kicking off - NOT that they are too hard on those kicking off loosely in the name of football.

So it costs a ridiculous amount of money to police football matches. The alternative is to give in and let all these idiots run free (and if that happened a lot more would come out of the woodwork). I've never been close to the ground and seen any major trouble for a long while. I don't think for one minute this is because hooligans 'fight away from the ground'. It's because the matches are well policed and they can't get away with it near the ground.

Agree with Tris over the Rugby thing though. They should get hit hard. I've been to Haydock before now and seen about 15 scousers kicking off behind the stand. This isn't Horse Racing holliganism. It's people getting lashed up and kicking off.

am i right in thinking you witnessed the postal order incident then?

considering a constable was earning over £150 a day(roughly 6 hours) for doing the football over a decade ago i'm presuming these hourly rates aren't far of the mark.Either that or dave whelan has a right to be upset at the massive profits the police are making on their policing prices!

So you seriously think that your average everyday Joe Policeman i earning a salary of £85,000?

I can only presume that you are either stupid, ignorant, or a combination of both.

The highest constable salary under Lancashire Police is about £29k and thats after 14 years. Starting rate is £18k.

And based on a £150 per day, on a 5 day week equates to a salary of £39k - once again you are talking crap.

oh dear me,not sure if you're just plain stupid or didn't read/understand the post, those rates are for football overtime which probably equates to them doing 6 or so hours every fortnight at that rate, not 5 days a week! rolleyes.gif hence why we were saying they were 'milking' the football as opposed to earning their standard daily rate.

thought it was blindingly obvious that we were discussing match day rates(with it being a post about policing football on a football message board!)seemingly not obvious enough for some rolleyes.gif

do us a favour next time and engage brain before proceeding to put your foot firmly in your mouth. thumbs-up.gif

No

i already knew that to be honest. thumbs-up.gif

So why ask the question then. If you were trying to use irony or sarcasm you failed on both accounts I'm afraid.

I thought you made the point obvious Trim !

Some people just can't help but read only what they want to read.

I think we would all be coppers if such salaries where available.

Trimm Trab, why is it you only appear to post and remark on this thread?

Cos he has a ban?

For being a ######?

Quality post, one of the best yet wink.gif

He doesn't have a ban but does offer an alternative view, some of us have them you know.... ph34r.gif

im all for that Gav.

But talking out of his rectum does him no favours.

The rates he quotes for Wigan have no relevance to us (not to any other GMP team - but that really doesnt have any relevance).

This whole thread has got dull.

now now mr wilks,no need to resort to expletives and insults,we're all adults here wink.gif

as for the gmp rates not being relevant to the lancs rates, are you saying there is a big difference between the 2? i very much doubt it.as i stated earlier your standard bobby was getting over £150 for a saturday match day on ewood, and that was over a decade ago, which is decent money, which was the original point that was being made.

and for the record i am not and have never been banned.

now, who's the mischief maker pm'ing me under the username seancurry, here was me thinking you had disappeared in the late 80's biggrin.gif

Dave Whelan is quoted today as saying Wigan got charged around £45,000 for their policing of the Leeds game from GMP whereas Preston only got charged £7,500 off Lancashire Constab when they played Leeds.

Not a big difference is there. laugh.gif But then again you only refer to Wigan when it suits your own agenda. thumbs-up.gif

as the police are a non-profit making organisation chances are they policed the preston game at a bigger loss to themselves.

or are you trying to say a lancashire policeman earns only a fifth of his gmp counterpart for the same job rolleyes.giflaugh.gifthumbs-up.gif

I'm not saying anything about the salaries of the two police forces.

StuWilky pointed out that the Wigan rates don't applied to the policing of BRFC games. You doubted that the figures would be different. They are. thumbs-up.gif

as with wilksy earlier on i'm not entirely sure if you're struggling to understand my posts or maybe you just have problems with your reading capabilities? rolleyes.gif

my quote was that i doubt there is "a big difference" between the hourly rates of equivalent officers working for both forces,i stand by that quote.

all my posts have revolved round the police hourly rates

and not the total police bill, which has no relevance to the hourly rates, originally i merely quoted the hourly rates of officers that were used by the gmp to try and justify their extortionate police bill to wigan.

in future i suggest reading the posts through properly before jumping in with both feet and making yourself look a bit silly. laugh.gif

Why ???

He has been making valid points ?

Can you not read also ?

Your comments simply are childish, can you not come up with a discussion to counter Trim ?
