  1. Oh ya. Had you heard of him before we bid for him? Honest question.
  2. LOL Backtracking faster than Williams playing left back up against a tricky right winger
  3. That is pretty damming evidence, but you did omit Dann, so I take it you are only looking at the time since we went down. Still, damning no doubt... In fairness you could look at any position before Mowbray took over and see the same story. He had a few weeks left to buck the trend this window. Let's just saw though we get a good centre half on loan. Not my ideal scenario, I think we should buy one, but let's just say. No doubt there will be uproar here, but would that be an over reaction, if, as I said, the one we get on loan is good?
  4. I didn't like it when I watched it years ago. I'm very protective of the original, blocky, design of the characters. Maybe I would enjoy it more now. I'm ready for the new game though and the changes it brings. I'm just concerned as I have read speculation that there will be no world map. Loving Persona. I am just at the part where they have discovered the Palace which is a Bank. That guy is a good villain. Getting a bit sick of the cat telling me to go to bed though ?
  5. Ya, one he got through, I think from a Dack pass and he slotted it really nicely to the bottom right. The keeper was right on him and he didn't have much time. It looked a good finish.
  6. In 4-3-3 I would expect the front 3 to be closer to goal and narrower than the inside forwards would be in 4-2-3-1. I just wonder if we didn't sign Brereton last summer, wlhow would he have done for Forest? Probably wouldn't have played much. Clearly not a karanka player and even less so of an O'Neill one. At least he had the year under his belt here. Huge season coming up for the lad.
  7. OK let's just say we do sign a keeper and CB, we won't be in a bad spot then really. We have serious firepower. Defenders wil not relish coming up against Graham, Dack, Rothwell, Chapman, Downing and Armstrong. A lot of stuff for defenders to worry about there. Then if Brereton and Gallagher start chipping in as well. Have ye watched the behind the scenes training videos on YouTube? Brereton banging them in. Maybe it's propoganda ? but there are a good few clips of him scoring.
  8. No I haven't. I just haven't posted hourly updates on how worked up I am, unlike some. I try to discuss things from the point oint of where we are. We have to sign a keeper. It's implausible that we won't. The CB position worries me and I have expressed that on numerous occasions.
  9. 4-3-3 wouldn't be a huge change from last season. It would just mean the two either side of Dack would push up and Dack would drop a bit to join the two midfielders. Could work if Dack didn't drop too much and the two wingers start contributing more goals and assists. Spreading the goals and assists around is almost as important as sorting the defence imo. We can't rely so heavily on Dack and DG
  10. Where did I say that I think it would be acceptable? I just said what I think will happen By open ended I mean, if Gallagher signs a 4 year deal, will his future wages mean we have less to spend this summer or will it come out of future budgets. Obviously coming out of future budgets would be better.
  11. I wonder Here are Mowbrays west Brom signings https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/west-brom-albion-tony-mowbray-12793111.amp Only two defenders by my count. I only just scanned the names. Hoefkens and Ollsson. Two decent centre halves in fairness, but the vast majority of his signings were midfielders... God I would just love to see us splash some cash on a defender or goalkeeper. Even psychologically it would give the team a boost. If we don't strengthen and we continue conceding goals like last season, I'd say the players will even be pissed with the situation.
  12. Agree with that except Williams as a left back by trade. We just played him there because he is left footed and got away with it in league 1?
  13. Maybe he sees Rodwell as the final piece in his defensive jigsaw. God. Lenihan, Mulgrew, Williams, Rodwell. Like you would think for a centre half, I won't say big and ugly, but let's say old fashioned, himself, mowbray would see we need someone like that. With the current centre halves we are so reliant on Lenihan for defensive aggression. If he gets injured we are back with a defence that a physical centre forward will look at and laugh basically. If ye think Lenihan and Williams or Lenihan and Mulgrew looks bad try Mulgrew and Williams, Williams and Rodwell or the worst of all Mulgrew and Rodwell. Shudder. Surely another centre half on the way.... Surely.. Has to be
  14. All 3 of Mulgrew, Lenihan and Williams I would describe as injury prone. We have been caught short at centre half the last 2 seasons because of injuries. For that to happen again would be totally unacceptable and on Mowbrays head be it if we are in November playing a midfielder centre half.
  15. The thing is when you look at what players move for, it's probably not that much over the odds. The problem is i think we all agree a fee spent on a centre half should be a priority
  16. It annoys me the way he does it to be honest. I just think Gallagher on the wing is less of a leap than some of the stuff he has done... Downing and Rothwell for me. I think Chapman and Armstrong will be great weapons off the bench. I don't think Bennett should be a starter, but I reckon he will probably start right back first game. Which will be annoying.
  17. Don't think it would be in the clubs benefit to publicly explain our finances to be honest. Or did you mean one of our resident experts here?
  18. No, not really because if they aren't better than the actual wingers in the squad, they won't get into the team in that position. Signing Gallagher to deputise for Graham is a good way to build a team imo. It's up to him and Brereton to win their places wherever they apply themselves best.
  19. Ya, indeed. If he doesn't come good at some point during his contract, that deal will look even worse. Spending the money there made no sense in hindsight as things stand.
  20. Well someone will have to replace Graham IF he doesn't continue to deliver ad he had been. If he keeps delivering, then should he not keep his place? See we need a striker one way or another and we only play one up top. I would prefer Gallagher, Armstrong or Brereton to be given a run in their favoured position, but if they don't offer more than DG, we'll then they will need to get on somewhere else.
  21. Ya, could work out expensive. Say a 4 year contract, plus the fee and you are into double figures in the millions. I just wonder is the flex open ended or will it impact us this window. I reckon the rest of the business will be a keeper on a free and a CB on loan.
  22. OK so you say we were numerically well stocked in the positions we signed Downing and Johnson for. Really. So if we didn't sign them you wouldn't be saying we need a winger or a centre mid? Sure. See this is the problem, I don't see anybody beating the overly positive drum. Some are just saying there is time left in the window and we don't need to press the panic button just yet. You and some others then try and spin that as something strange.
  23. Of course loads of people with an interest in football knew about Ronaldo. When barca signed him it was for a world record fee. They didn't randomly just sign some guy nobody had heard of.
