  1. You are inferring that we needed to sell Raya to sign Gallagher. I don't think that is the case as we have been chasing him for 3 windows and it has been reported , by Nixon, that we had bids in for him previously. He's a fud.
  2. Nixon hasn't a clue. Some of the tweets he puts out after the fact claiming he was in the know are pathetic. A lot of assumptions in the highlighted part, I won't ask for your source
  3. In my opinion it was a big issue. He made numerous big mistakes at crucial times. Kicking was consistently poor and it was obvious his communication didn't fill the defenders with confidence. Great shot stopper at times, but that will only get you so far at this level. Mulgrew was just as bad though.
  4. Hoban is decent, but he is far too injury prone. Feel sorry for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he retired soon.
  5. You seem to be saying something that doesn't relate to what you quoted from me. Can you be clearer?
  6. Tuanzebe might be around the United squad by the sounds of it as well. Phil Jones anyone? That would be interesting..... PS- I know it's unrealistic
  7. In my opinion it would be an overreaction. If the player improves us, why would you be unhappy if he was signed on loan? Should it not be about how good the player is?
  8. I never said it would be. I was specifically and clearly taking about a loan.
  9. I think the right keeper will go a long way to fixing the defensive issues. Ideally we sign a defender permanently, but I'm not going to be down with the inevitable overreaction if we loan one. I don't see how that will be the huge issue that it undoubtedly will be for some. Particularly if it's a loan to buy.
  10. Wasn't he pictured sitting out of training too? So mentally challenging for him if it's yet another injury Hopefully it was illness and we get to see him in pre-season. If he doesn't feature Wednesday I think it is safe to assume it isn't a case of him just being ill
  11. The fact he is off social media is a red flag to me. He was constantly putting stuff up, then he stopped. I would imagine he would be devastated if it was another injury. I reckon he is going to break our hearts. Will repeatedly get injured just when it is looking like he is getting going. Hopefully I am wrong.
  12. If we don't sign a defender or defenders, it will be on his head if we have a CM playing there like last season
  13. I notice Chapman has disappeared off social media in the last few weeks. I have a funny feeling he is injured again and it is being kept quite. If he is, it would be very, very worrying.
  14. We signed 1 player from Boro this summer, a good signing imo. Johnson never played for Mowbray. Gallgher did a few games here, again though a good signing. It's a big change for the better from the summers before Mowbray arrived. If we signed Downing, Johnson and a striker for £5 million the summer Coyle was here, fans wouldn't be able to believe what they are seeing. I think we need to look in Europe and hopefully we spot some gems there, but I don't get the criticism of the signings we have made this summer. So what if a player played for Mowbray before or for Boro? If they are good enough and improve results, I couldn't care less where they come from.
  15. In my opinion it's a complete overreaction to say our window "looks a mess". We have signed 3 players who could all potentially make the first 11. We are certainly going to sign at least 1 keeper as well as a center half. As for our recruitment department. I would be interested to know what it actually looks like, ie how many have we and what areas are they covering. I would say it was bare bones when Mowbray started.
  16. I would take that as more general improvements and setting up of a better scouting system, even though he does mention other countries. It was to do with watching videos wasn't it? I think he only started talking about getting scouts over to games in Europe this year. I think it just touches on the shambles he walked into. An absolutely dismantled and toothless scouting system. Shocking when you consider we had arguably the best in the league under Hughes. I don't have to list the gems discovered around that time.
  17. Yes he did, but we are discussing when he first mentioned setting up the European one.
  18. The article I shared above from less than 6 months ago is the first mention I recall of it. Ah come on now, this Mowbray lies, backtracks stuff etc is getting out of hand. People are just looking to twist everything now. IF he said it may bare some fruit for summer, us not signing someone from Europe isn't necessarily backtracking. He did say a few days ago that we are looking at keepers in Europe "as long as the have played at the top level". I know it's shocking how badly it was dismantled. Hard to pinpoint when exactly, but we had one of the best before Venkys took over.
  19. Not sure where you are getting we are 2 years in? The first time I saw him mention it was in the article below ,which is less than 6 months ago https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17437465.mowbray-plans-to-bring-in-european-scouting-network-at-rovers/
  20. Ok, you have gone a bit off track there. We were talking about the European scouting network, which he said would take time and when you think about it, in real life, it would.
  21. Ah ok, you go to the under 23 games? Fair enough. Ya, he got good reviews from League 1 last year, so he must have done alright. Hopefully get a proper look in pre-season
