  1. For me it's not even about his ability, it's just a very silly gamble to take with all that money when we're in debt and need players in other positions. And if it is a "project" that makes it even worse.
  2. So it really is as simple as saying we could have signed 3 experienced championship players.
  3. I think you've cracked what Mowbray was thinking... "It's unlikely I'll sign three proven Championship players for 5 million so I'll spend 7 million on an unproven one."
  4. It won't go away until the club issues a statement, it's such a bizarre signing it's going to cause speculation. Silly signing in my opinion, spending that much on one player shouldn't have been on the agenda for this season. Could have gone towards two or three players with plenty of experience in this league.
  5. So has he signed yet or not? If not can we send him back and have some sensible signings?
  6. Would you really want to tarnish those memories?
  7. Mowbray keeps playing him. His biggest error was pledging a crazy amount of money on a 19 year old unknown instead of sorting out the defending.
  8. Well he will keep rewarding players like Smallwood who continually make mistakes.
  9. And this is why we should have been strengthening our defence in Summer instead of pledging silly amounts for 19 year old unknowns. Will only get away with League 1 defending for so long.
  10. And perhaps if that money had been invested more wisely we'd have had a team more capable of keeping clean sheets. The issue of the signing of Brereton is more than just his quality on the pitch.
  11. Mowbray picked them. Mowbray decided to take a gamble on a young lad instead of strengthening the defence. Loads of people said that the players you have mentioned needed competition or replacing with championship level players but Mowbray was happy to stick with those that got us promoted. This is all fair enough if this season is just to stay in the division and strengthen next season for a real push. Got to question the signing of Brereton though.
  12. More points thrown away. Should have picked up a decent striker in Summer, Graham looked knackered. The more I see of Armstrong, the more I don't think he's cut out for this league.
  13. Puts them in the air when they need to be on the ground and vice versa. Such a frustrating player.
  14. Two games, two worldies from the oppo. Let's hope we can get another to cancel it out.
  15. Two good saves, should have scored.
  16. Amazing free kick, and goal from Mulgrew.
  17. Yeah, he's been up sh*t creek for a while now.
  18. Common sense, I don't see how difficult is to for some to see it. You don't gamble on team selection when your defense is leaky. Jim was spot on.
  19. Man City?! There was me thinking it was a way of bringing in more fans from Japan.
  20. One would hope that we replicate last season with a more convincing second half after a few transfer dealings. Though a worry for me is that the Brereton deal may render the Jan transfer window irrelevant.
  21. You were saying the scoreline and way we were playing was no reflection of the team sheet, and berating anyone who said otherwise. Tongue in cheek? Shite in gob more like.
