We all know this has been a very unusual season. So many low scoring wins. Two brilliant cup runs. A ton of away defeats. Three or four mentally damaging hammerings. But we have remained very resilient. Our away form is improving. Our over reliance on two or three players receeding. Our confidence is growing. Players are developing. The group believed they were good enough last year. They believed Mowbrays tactics cost us badly. This manager encourages them to play. We seemingly manage our highs and lows very well. There's no reason to think negatively. Rovers 2-1. COYB.

Terrible start to the weekend. Feel very sorry for the travelling fans. I wonder if players truly understand how much it affects us? I thought after two wins at Norwich we had grown up away from home. Very disappointing.

Not bothered about how many we have lost. Only concerned with how many we have won. And we have won enough to remain 3rd in the league. All would have settled for that going into the New Year. I believe we are improving away and will get something from this fixture.

Well, well, well. Another really pleasing result. I never expect anything from that neck of the woods. Too much historical trauma. Plus they've never heard of motorways and its a ballache from start to finish. I must say I'm finding this season really interesting from our point of view. Literally, never a dull moment and I dont know if we will win, or get beat four zip. Everyone has done much better than I imagined. Credit to all.

I never felt more like singing the blues, the Rovers win, the North End lose.... A very happy Rovers fan. Its a funny old game indeed. Always an unhappy experience getting beaten, whilst sitting with the home fans. Remember to stand up if they score and stay seated if we do!! I remember jumping up at Old Trafford when Blake scored in the 3-2 defeat down to ten men and about 25 000 United fans glaring at me.

Exactly. Pakistan are very, very good at home and only this refreshing approach has given us this series win. This is genuinely a brilliant sporting achievement.

Yes they have done well. But they are at home and have all the advantages. It's England forcing the tempo and making them play our way. Plus we have coped with illness and integrated new players. We have played brilliantly well and taken the cricketing world by suprise.

Loving the test cricket. What a refreshing and positive approach by England. The game has changed so much in the last decade or so. This wicket is already turning two foot. With only one front line spinner i was a tad concerned, but even Roots taking wickets. It will be a nightmare to bat on day four and five. I'm predicting another win.

We all love total football. We'd all love to play like City. But it is completely unrealistic unless you have high quality technical players, far better than the opposition. Even then in the Championship, that will only get you so far. I'm absolutely gutted. I didn't over react to the Burnley defeat as we have been terrible away all season and they are top of the league. As many have said, this bad home defeat has been on the cards for a while, but you can't just collapse against your local rivals. Change nothing and nothing will change. I'm disgusted with the last two performances.

Lots of posts saying the manager doesn't care, the players don't care, the players didn't try, the players are too soft, they should have got stuck in, they don't live in the area, they don't know what it means to the fans, etc etc. But it was zip zip at half-time, they'd only had two headers on target and threatened little. We may have had a penalty when Diaz was shoved over. We had been relatively comfortable throughout, defended well from set pieces and limited them to long rage attempts. So the players cared and tried first half? Second half they pushed on, we lost Gallagher, they scored from a brilliant cross for the first and punished us for defensive stupidity for the 2nd. We tried to open up and get back into it, made little progress and by the end with more mistakes could have conceeded five. Truth is, it was nothing to do with effort or desire. It wouldn't have been nil nil if we hadn't been trying. The squad is paper thin. We lack suitable replacements in most positions. We lack pace, creativity, and goals and have actually punched way above our weight this year. Yes we've enjoyed some luck and yes the league is quite poor in general, but the reason we are riding high is that we have tried very hard all season, defended well and operated to a coherent plan. Didn't try? Couldn't be arsed? Didn't understand it was a big game? Mmmm, ok.

Whilst always room for improvement I am ecstatic where we are currently up to. Very suprising. All year I have expected a run of defeats to kick in, but after a bad result we have bounced back with strength and character. Loving our defensive prowess and commitment to playing good football. The players giving us everything. I wouldn't over analyse it. Just keep the focus on not conceeding and winning more than we lose. We would all have settled for top six pre- season. The squad is thin in parts. That remains the aim.

The problem is that the ball wasn't there to drive. He just thinks it is. Crawley throws his hands at the ball without moving his feet. Any movement and he is goosed. The lad needs to learn where his off stump is, play straighter, get his feet moving and leave anything a foot outside off stump. Especially early in his innings. His job is to take the shine off the ball, tire out the better ballers, build an innings and provide the stroke players at 4, 5 and 6 a platform to attack. He is way too easy to get out. Our test openers have been useless for way too long, one of the major reasons we had won 1 in 17 under Root. Scabbing a couple of victories of late with kami-kaze cricket is good fun, but hardly a lasting recipe for success.

Hi KHod, hope you are ok and things go well. Bit of a weird reply to my post may I say. I don't post on the football as I don't attend any longer and don't feel qualified watching titbits from tv. I do follow the boxing, am still a member of this site, and could only post after the event last weekend. For some strange reason I am constantly being called a 'fangirl' by one poster simply because I rate Fury's skills as a boxer. The one who liked your comment. If I have upset you both I apologise. I am not Fury's manager or agent, I don't benefit from supporting him, it is only an opinion.

Some posts on this thread haven't aged very well.?? A few on here still on a very steep learning curve! The 'Pillow Fisted' Fury, totally demolished Wilder. And stopped him. After flattening him numerous times. Tremendous performance from Fury, aggressive, skilful, heavy handed and completely dominant. Took the fight to Wilder from the off and within three rounds had him hurt, scared and dis-orientated. Absolutely no surprise to me, that Fury was head and shoulders above the most feared and supposed hardest hitting heavyweight for decades. Amazed that so many had Wilder winning, amazed that so many thought he would knock Fury out, amazed that no-one believed Fury was going to jump all over him, amazed that so few believed Fury could win. What did folk not understand? The only reason he got close to Fury the first time round was due to Fury losing ten stone in weight in the previous twelve months. Wilder believed he was finished, hence taking the first fight. By Fury's own admission he was only 50% fit, yet still took the fight and won 8 or 9 of the 12 rounds very easily. Fury has now fought and beat, two of the most feared and lauded heavyweight champions in history. Away from home. Let that sink in. Klitchko ten years undefeated. Wilder five years undefeated. Good that Fury is around to free the belts for all the lesser fighters to scramble after. Hope that Wilder forces the re-match. Looking forward to the press conferences already, with Fury reminding the plank how many times he fell over. Eddie Hearn already falling over himself to try and get Fury v Joshua. Forgetting all about his other fighter, mandatory for years for this belt.

Joshua runs around for 12 rounds poking his jab out, is out-timed and flustered every time they exchange and even though Ruiz is badly overweight and clearly hasn't trained, doesn't get close to putting him away. One, two, run away. Zero combinations. One of the highest grossing bore-fests of all time. Yet Joshua is suddenly lauded as a tactical genius and everyone marvels at his new found boxing prowess. His opponent was completely unfit and had no chance of winning. Joke of a fight, total non-event. Looking forward to the Fury v Wilder re-match very much. Fury had lost approximately 10 stone in the year leading up to that fight and in my considered opinion will be much better, fitter and more resilient this time round. Wilder presumably will also be better, knowing what he has to face. Wilder confident he sparks Fury out but I can't see it, even though most others have succumbed to Wilder's power. Fury saying he takes Wilder out. Fury also saying he has three fights left in Wilder, Joshua and Whyte. At least both fighters will have trained for this one and trying to win.
