  2. Most positions you can fill with brilliant players. The one position I cannot think of a truly outstanding player is RB. The first one I saw was Ron Suart. Ok, we have Berg, Emerton, Kenna, Neill. We've never had a Piqué.
  3. I'm very proud of my club and I'd like to think it sets high standards. If we had the only decent away dressing room in the football league other players and their staff would take notice. Maybe a good young player would want to move to us rather than anyone else because we set so high a standard.
  4. If I were the owner, one minor detail would be this........The story begins here................ About 5 years ago my grandson and I experienced a ground tour. It was only us two. Having been shown the wonderful home dressing room we then experienced the away dressing room which was appalling. The treatment table had a hole in it. It looked like it had been rescued from the local rubbish dump. When we complained about the total shabbiness we were told, "Everyone does it". In other words all the other clubs do the same thing. Well, now, me being the new owner, that away dressing room would have the same quality as the home dressing room and there would be a sign on the wall reading, "This is Blackburn Rovers. You are very welcome". I would also have the home team come out first and applaud the opposition onto the field. Just minor detail in the thick of things.
  5. Brad was the best keeper I've ever seen at Rovers. But, in my eyes, he had a weakness in that he was regularly beaten by a low shot to his left. Well, nobody is perfect.
  6. He's on loan from.............................Luton Town
  7. Hopefully they'll soon be putting Artificial Intelligence in charge of VAR. That way we'll always get the right decision.
  8. I'm a Prestonian, worked in Blackpool and Bolton. Never ever heard of a John Bull in a chip shop. And a dab is a flat fish with sand paper skin to me. Tea cake or barm cake; same thing. Flour cake in Bolton and muffin in Manchester. Back on topic.......is he staying?
  9. So, two Hatters in the play-off finals this weekend. Did you know that?
  10. What a bloody shame. I know lots of you don't like Wigan but I have a soft spot for Dave Whelan who originally invested in them. I'd hate to see them go the way of Bury.
  11. Is that the one at the cross roads; almost in Ramsgreave? If so, I remember, before they took it over, they had the Myerscough opposite British Aerospace at Samlesbury. That was a well run pub with excellent food. We were sorry to see them leave the Myerscough.
  12. I wonder what happened to Wayne Cochran
  13. When we were in the third division in he 1970s we played against good sides like Bournemouth, Brighton and Chesterfield. Why aren't the spirites in the Prem?
  14. I have a feeling that all three clubs will win on Sunday.
  15. If I'd have written that in the 1980s they'd have locked me away in an asylum.
  16. Shame about Markanday. Should never have gone on loan to that club. I feel so sorry for the guy. How can you keep up your fitness and development languishing on the bench at Aberdeen FFS? Egil Ostenstadt was out of favour at Rovers but, being the true professional he was, went and trained hard with the youth lads. He was older and obviously mentally capable. Young Markanday?...............What a shame. I hope Rovers kept in touch and gave him some encouragement.
  17. No. Not for me. If I didn't support Rovers and had to choose a big city club it would be Everton. I've thought this for a couple of decades.
  18. I don't feel anything for Southampton fans. Glad they're down. Also my arms are open to receive Leicester and Leeds. Leicester were 1000/1 to win the prem according to the bookies the season they actually won it. I knew it wouldn't last and that within a few seasons they'd be relegated. Bring it on.
  19. Do their owners live on the other side of the world and never visit their club?
  20. Not sure? Hell, even I'd have been over the barrier if Rovers had done that incredible come back.
  21. I'm delighted the final is Luton v Coventry. I don't mind which one gets promoted. Glad to see 'Boro and TM's Sunderland out of it.
  22. Venus in blue jeans? Were the jeans ripped? Obviously not.
