Time that refs made their own mind up again. Why can't a ref go to the screen, look at it and turn away to say I was right and my decision stands (Brian Clough style). Way back when I played football I was taught that "The ref is always right, even when he's made an obvious mistake". Just accept it and get on with the game.

He really is very good with his feet and this is needed because of the way we play. I'm not convinced by the new lad. Pears must start against Leicester. Dolan is useless. there is really no end product. Needs dropping from the squad unless we're desperate. Harry Leonard will make a great striker. We must persevere with him. Sam Morsy is a very, very good player. He is just what we need in midfield. I wish we had him. (retires to bunker with tin hat on)

Regarding the penalty, the taker and the keeper are both Icelandic. I wonder if................

I was waiting for the Matt Derbyshire goal. I remember listening to the radio but this is the first time I've seen it.

Ask the Wigan supporters. They were trying to avoid relegation whilst on a good cup run. They went all out to win the cup and did so. What did it matter that they were relegated that season or the next or the one after? Wigan's name is on the list of FA Cup winners for evermore just like Blackburn Olympic.

I cannot understand this mindset. Any competitive Rovers game is important to me. But if I had to choose between these two I would say the cup game is more important. Only a few games from Wembley.

Just watched the highlights. All three shots early on were on target and SAFC were lucky to block them. We played well. Hedges hadn't a clue that Clark was there as he tried to clear it. Unfortunate. Pears poor positioning for their second. Their third goal was very well taken. Probably Sunderland are the best team we've played so far. They are joint top scorers with Norwich. Wouldn't surprise me if we won at Ipswich.

Arteta admitted he was reluctant to change keepers because it looked like he was dropping Ramsdale. Then he thought I interchange players of equal form and quality in all the other positions so why not GK? Pears wouldn't be "dropped"; just rested to give the other guy a chance.
